Arsenal are offering Granit Xhaka a new deal until June 2025 with an increased salary - more than what AS Roma are proposing in their contract bid. ⚪️🔴 #AFC

Honestly D16 mate so would I over Mo but I find it funny that that he was on the verge of leaving, to now potentially offering him a new contract. I don't want to sell him on the cheap but also understand that we desperately need to raise funds.

Yep I'd rather he stayed if that's all they were offering, because we are unlikely to find a good replacement for 12m. Sambi and Partey can't play every game, we need the depth.
Thing is though D16 I doubt you'd find anyone willing to give us £12m for Elneny 😂.

And that's the other issue wire, who is going to give us anything for Elneny! We have a half a squad of players who simply need to leave but interest is very minimal and clubs will try their best to take advantage of that with low offers. It is vital we sell though so we better suck it up. Short term pain, long term gain 👍🏻.

since 2017, sorry he is just not good enough, proven by the fact that only Roma want him and at 15 mill, to offer him a new deal plus pay rise it imho utter madness but nothing surprises me anymore from Arteta and Edu, i can only hope Roma offer a few more million.

The difference between the two is that we only paid about 5m for Elneny, so not being worth with is not a shock. Xhaka on the other hand is about the worst devaluation you could get. I have kept cars that held better value than him.

We've either gone backwards or failed to progress each and every season since Xhaka arrived, prior to siging Xhaka we had 20 consecutive years of top 4 finishes but since Xhaka joined we've slipped from Cl to El to now not qualifying for European football at all, coincidence? Maybe but even his biggest fan would struggle to make a case for how he's improve us in any away since he arrived.
Surely it's time to accept it didn't work out for us and Xhaka together and move on.

We keep playing out from the back but never seem to get any better at it Ed014 mate, I'm not sure how many times you have to knock yourself out before you come to the conclusion boxing isn't your thing.
{Ed014's Note - I don’t have a problem playing out from the back but I don’t think for starters Leno fills our defence with any confidence because he’s so bad at it. Add Xhaka into that mix and light the touch paper!
That then just compounds everything else and seeing it happening again is just a tad disheartening.

Elneny was very slopping in that goal we conceded. Really don't see his purpose in the team.

Sen I wanted to make that point as well. Those stats you just can’t keep using against one player. You could also add it coincides with Arsene leaving.
We didn’t lose a game I believe in the first 20+ games Mustafi played for us. And at one point had a better overall stats than Maguire.

Hi Senior, hi Yard, Auba joined well after we'd already lost champions league football and the decline didn't start when Arsene left it actually brought about his having to leave, we finish 6th and 5th in Arsenes last 2 seasons.
When Xhaka and Mustafi arrived we were still a champions league club but our failure to qualify began with thier arrival.
I genuinely can't remember when Laca joined and can't be bothered to Google it, but I do think we have finished top 4 with Laca, obviously that would have to be before the arrival of Xhaka if true 😎😆😀.
{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of any new contract being offered nor why Arsenal would want to keep him with the player so keen to leave and a good offer on the table, and Arsenal in need of sales.}
