Does anyone have any concrete evidence on any signings apart from Kellstrom?

Believable5 Unbelievable15

No concrete evidence but i'd enjoy seeing the news that Wenger sharked the Konoplyanka deal, hence no deal with liverpool, but never goooner happen

It seems we have tried again for draxler but Wenger wouldn't meet the price, lots of info on Twitter from journo s maybe true but who knows

Believable10 Unbelievable11

Eh?

Why would we have tried again for Draxler if Wenger isn't going to meet the asking price

Rubbish

Just read online
"#Afc board were happy to meet #Schalke fee for Draxler & keen this month to avoid summer battle, but AW valuation lower & unwilling to budge"
Does that mean that in the summer AW will once again refuse to spend?

Believable4 Unbelievable2

Then they should sack the tight f####r and stop using excuses to run their club

Agree0 Disagree2

Ed is it true shalke would have sold draxler for less than buy-out clause and that wenger not board refused to pay money. And is any chance of him still signing today?

Also any chance kallstrom doesn't sign as it will be a terrible signing

Cheers

Believable4 Unbelievable3

{Ed001's Note - Schalke were prepared to sell but not for much less than the previous buy out clause.}

What do you know about Kim that makes you possible value him? He got a lot of experience, beeing playing for Lyon and for example beating Liverpool and Man U in England. He also has over 100 caps for Sweden and I will strongly advice you to check out his freekick skills!

Agree0 Disagree0

Well that knowledge on Schalke and Draxler has clearly turned out to be BS as Draxler himself has since confirmed as did several of those who knew the deal already, that Schalke blocked the move to Arsenal at the 11th hour.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - how is it bull? They refused to sell for less than the previous buy out clause, which is exactly what was said.}

31 Jan 2014 17:56:47
Seen somewhere we've put a 12 million bid in for jay Rodriguez I know its almost definitely paper talk but I'm getting desperate, is there any truth?

Dear readers,
away from the Draxler saga and Kallstom signing, the positive news is that according to a source on the internet, Benfica striker Rodrigo has rejected the chance to join Zenit in the hope that Arsenal will make a 30 million euro bid for him, therefore activating his release clause.
Rodrigo is prepared to wait until the summer and if this does happen it will be in the summer. I cannot promise anything though.

Believable6 Unbelievable10

He was rubbish for bolton

Agree0 Disagree0

Summer?
No point then

31 Jan 2014 17:03:39
Ed does this mean that draxler is off for the summer and in the future or could he still be signed in summer
Cheers

Believable6 Unbelievable3

{Ed002's Note - Nothing has changed in my view. Arsenal will look to sign him in the summer.}

Hi

Kim kallstrom and klose are two signings on loan arsenal are looking to do ( still not confirmed ). AW your such a prick. why waste time and money on draxler negotiation. don't tell me it is media ruse. something was going on between AFC and schalke. is wenger going complacent, we are second and couple of short term signing will do the trick. I hope it helps in winning the league. (man city are too good).

both players will bring huge experience and goals, which will help the team specially in the midfield with our young talent to support them.
klose is a proven goal scorer with tons of experience. brilliant in the air and has finishing ability. ok I m fine with the signings. let us support them (if they do arrive ).

I think he should have got eisfield in the squad. with injuries to ramsey and jack, he could have given him the chance. I think he is very good goal scoring AM. Check the record he always score goals and assists. the Reading game when he came on he really was quite influential in winning the game. I think he is a great talent and one for the future. I hope he gets a lot of games for SW fc. good luck guys

Good luck guys. we can win it.

loaded guns.

I'm hearing arsenal are to make a late attempt for a forward from Germany today, but don't know if there's any truth to this. Apparently it could be mandzucic(spelling) because he wasn't in bayerns squad last game, but doubt it would happen.
Oh well something to look forward to I guess, or something to be disappointed about I guess lol

Grabbing some lunch in the Tesco in shenley by arsenals training and have just seen Jack Rodwell. Dunno if its a loan deal or permanent, all will be revealed.

Dragon Army.

Believable5 Unbelievable28

This deal could really be on, he was in the area yesterday aswell surprised no media outlets have reported it yet.

Ramsey out 6 weeks. Rodwell will play tomorrow against palace and be out for the year.

Latest news is 35 year old Klose! Its shocking. Imagine the lift a couple of top notch signings would have given us. We have an impossible CL draw, an extremely difficult FA Cup draw and hard matches coming up in the Premier League. I envisage no trophies and 4th place at best.

Believable12 Unbelievable11

Way to keep the faith, some arsenal fans want them to fail so they an bemoan everything about the club.

Agree3 Disagree0

A very negative post, the team have done so well this season and there is a new resilience about them. We would all like Draxler etc to come and they seem to be working hard on it, but if it doesn't happen so be it. Klose would be a good person to come off the bench in the last 20 mins and nick a goal. Personally I think Vucinic is more likely

Agree2 Disagree0

31 Jan 2014 13:03:01
Completely agree, what an absolute nonsense post. Absolutely no chance that Arsenal will finish outside the top 3 this season.

Agree1 Disagree0

Read on some italian site, on how the lazio ultra's are going into a meltdown over the sale of hernanes to inter, and the club have said no more players will leave.

imagine them selling another player.

I wonder who is going to give those ultras a hug then.

im going to say no chance on this one.

Agree0 Disagree0

I adore Arsenal, but I am realistic and will be extremely disappointed if the best we can muster is two loan deals for ageing players, when we clearly need a top notch striker & a 4th centre bcak. Mark my words one, if not both centre backs will suffer injuries in the run in, due to over playing them. We have a minimum of 18 matches to play. In reality we are highly unlikely to beat Bayern Munich over two legs. We are highky unlikely to finish ahead of Man City & Chelsea, who both have much stronger squads than us. Liverpool are on a run and don't have europe to contend with and don't write off Man U, now they have signed Mata and have RVP, Rooney & Fellaini back. In the cup we have a difficult tie against Liverpool to play. So if Giroud, Koscielny and or Mertesaker are injured, we have little quality cover. We have one centre back. We have Bendtner who looks dreadful and Sanago who is inexperienced and injured or Park!

Agree3 Disagree0

What a negative and pesimistic person you are! I could almost bet everything I own that after the Aston villa defeat you were saying either "wenger out" or "we won't finish in the top 4" now look at us, 1 point off the top spot, we have been top for most of this campaign.
I couldn't care less if arsene bought jens Lehman out of retirement again I'll still support him and say arsenal can win the title and CL till I'm blue in the face!
Be positive about the club you 'adore' instead of being so negative. Rant over

Agree1 Disagree2

Dear Essex, blind faith does not guarantee a 4th place finish. Robbie is making realistic points and I have to agree with him.

Agree2 Disagree0

What complete tripe!
although I do feel wenger has acted slowly as usual, i'm more than happy with kallstrom, and klose would be ideal for us, their experience would be pricelese

Kim Kallstrom.
If true then the club has thrown the season away as far as I'm concerned.
I'm sure Ozil can't wait to link up with him.

Believable20 Unbelievable12

Dont buy it. he would rather play park chu young there.

Agree0 Disagree1

31 Jan 2014 12:55:26
All I can say it was good while it lasted. Wenger will be blamed if we don't win anything. What happened to his policy signing players over 30 & onwards. Klose is 35 & thinks he will do a good job loooool deluded or what. No silverware, no new contract simple.

Heard a German football specialist say on that a list of players leaving the Bundesliga is usually compiled by 4pm a day before the deadline as Germans like doing things early. He said there is no major Bundesliga player leaving the league. Really sad if true.

MiracleGunner

Believable16 Unbelievable4

Dont buy this list thing.

money is there to be made, and that's all that matters, whether your german, or alien.

12 hours till the window closes.

more interested to know if any players are coming out of portugal as their window closes in 7 hours time.

These are part of the comments made by the Schalke sporting director when he was saying that Draxler would be at his club after January and probably beyond the summer.

Some how the press although printing it never actually mention or enlarge on that part of his whole interview.

"We are happy to have such a world-class player in our lines and I am very convinced that Draxler will be playing for us in the Rückrunde [second half of the season] but, most probably, beyond that, " Heldt said. "We are not interested in letting Julian leave and he has also not approached us about a transfer.

"Of course, there are always other clubs interested in him and should someone make a serious offer for him, then we as a club have to professionally consider that. That does not only apply to Julian Draxler but to every other player."

On the buyout clause, Heldt added: "That agreement was only in place for last year. From now on, the transfer fee is up for negotiation."

So from the horses mouth that's not really a NO then Mr Heldt and there is no current £37 million buy out clause.

I'm not saying the transfer will happen but the door is not as closed as the press would have people believe this morning, the words transfer fee and NEGOTIATION being the most telling.

In the words of Goldboy, deal or no deal then Mr Wenger.

Believable11 Unbelievable1

In my opinion, I believe wenger, wants to close the deal out somewhere around 25 mill, with add ons taking it to 30 million perhaps.

Perhaps schalke are looking for the buyout, but we have not budged.

Last summer, they stated chelsea were looking to buy the player for his 45mill euro release clause, he is still there.

If i'm not mistaken Schalke are in financial trouble, its not dire and they don't need money asap, but probably looking for more money upfront to make it worth their while.

lets hope developments change over the course of the day, but I am quite sure over the next 4-5 hours, wenger won't be on the phone talking to Schalke, but he will be looking at alternatives.

Give schalke an ultimate offer around 6Pm, if not pull the plug on that deal, and go with the alternative you have lined up.

lets see how it pans out.
