Is Wenger in charge of this window for us? No defenders, no CDM but a light weight winger from Spain. 😐

That should sort out the second half of the season. #address our problems.

We have too many defenders on the books and can't sign someone without shipping someone else out. We also don't need a CDM. Also Suarez can play across the midfield and on the wing, like Isco.

Time will tell SY mate, my worry is in Dick we have found another Arsene who thinks if he ignores our defensive problems they will simply disappear by magic or he shares Arsenes mythical ideology of we can simply outscore our way to a title so defence isn't that big a deal.
My hope is he will come to realise like most fans that the biggest reason we haven't and don't take part in title races or champions league quater finals anymore is because the once legendary Arsenal defence is the missing ingredient.
Gary Nevile said at the start of the season that Dick was picking Xhaka every game in order for Xhaka to either come good and prove his worth or be totally exposed as an incapable weak link, personally I think this season and next especially we are going to find out exactly what we need to know about Dick and whether he's capable or incapable of doing what needs to be done to solve our biggest weakness that has held us back for more than a decade.
None of us know what Dick will or won't do in the future I just really hope he is seen to be aware of and trying to address what simply has to be dealt with by someone somewhere if we are ever to be truly competitive beyond 4th place trophy dreams.

I think we are waiting for the summer transfer window to sort out our defence where more players become available and at better prices. I’m sure the club is aware of our defensive issues but the next transfer will tell a lot about the club and Emery.
I believe our strategy this window get some players on loan with option to buy as if they can settle and look to handle the PL than ok if not return the player and look for other option rather than a panic buy.
Liech was brought if for more experience and maybe teach Belerin a thing or two about defending, which hopefully in training is way better than what he is showing us on the field.

A lot of our defensive problems start higher I the pitch. By strengthening our midfield with technical player who can both win the ball and hold on to it without loosing it, we will relieve the defense of to many tasks. You could see the problem yesterday when we were pushed to far in to our own box. And we couldn’t put enough pressure on city’s defense.

Yes, i think our manager should have ignored the lack of cash available and taken a leaf out of our previous managers book by blowing "in excess" of £35 million on a center half and getting Mustafi. that worked out well.

Eds do you think that's it for players coming in.

We've got one so we've had many worse January windows, I know last year we got Pea but that was an exception to our usual low key January's.
There was Elneny and Kim Kalstrom before Pea but prior to that Ashavin is the only other one I can think of.
Would have liked some defensive additions but it's probably best we work on getting some kind of organised unit in place out of what we already have first so any new player who might join in the summer find it easier to settle in quickly.

Hi eds. Is Arsenal trying to sign any defensive players? Any last minute updates? Hope we get nkunku as well.

{Ed002's Note - Arsenal have concentrated on a wide player (hence the Pavin and Under interest which drifted in to Perisic and Carrasco once only loans were viable) and still remain interested in NKunku but it remains entirely dependent on one particular player signing for PSG today.}

If we had concentrated on a wide player, why have signed Suarez, and currently seek the signature of Nkunku, neither of which fit that profile. I can't say I have seen much of either to be fair, so I'm not sure if I ought to feel pleased or not.

{Ed002's Note - Be Ayzenberg they were also seen to be needed.}

Ed002, I'm assuming the particular player you mention the Nkunku deal riding on is Luciano Acosta to PSG?

{Ed002's Note - Yes Tony, that is correct.}

Hmm Ed you have lost me there. The only Ayzenberg I know is an advertising agency. But I think I get the point.
