Julio cesar will be announced tomorrow

Believable46 Unbelievable76

Isn't he in brazil how would he do a medical?

Agree0 Disagree0

Somehow, I do not believe in Julio Cesar. AW does not want someone whose age is too close to WS's so as not to affect his development but then there must be 28/29 year olds!

Lanz

Agree0 Disagree0

Lanz are you saying Cesar is too young?

Agree0 Disagree0

Not happened yet… awkward

Agree1 Disagree0

I just don't rate him and I don't like that 33. My preference for goalie is Patricia Rudi of Portugal.

Lanz {Ed027's Note - How old was Van Der Sar? & you can't even spell your preferred GK's name

Agree0 Disagree0

Well that didn't happen.

Agree0 Disagree0

Come on 027, you know too well that was a typo!

Apparently Julio Cesar has signed from QPR for an undisclosed fee, on a £65K a week deal, for 2 years.

I am not sure if this is true or not, but this is what is being currently said.

Believable54 Unbelievable46

To much money for a player who just came from a relegated team, I would pay him less than £50k

I reckon Arsenal shall sign Julio Cesar because Fabianskis contract is expireing at 30th June 2013.
Also, Ashley Williams because apparently Arsenal and Swansea have agreed the deal and the same with Cesar. In addition, maybe Cesc could return to the Gunners and show Wilshere how to be a word class player. Plus, Sanago has passed the Arsenal medical so as soon as his contract expires Wenger will sign him and will begin training with the Gooners. Lastly, because Wenger is letting ten of his acedemy players go he will hopefuly sign Josimar Quintero, Pleguezuelo Selva and Dan Crowley.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think we will sign grenier very soon.

Agree0 Disagree0

How many hours are we talking here lol. 24, 48, 336?

Agree0 Disagree0

For a player who has won more titles and trophies than everyone in the Arsenal line up I would give him more probably.

Italian website published this evening:

"The Gunners have made the decisive move in the last hour, giving the Brazilian a two-year contract from 4 million per season: the agreement is expected (to be confirmed) in hours. "

People says there is a good chance fabregas could return.

lets hope it happens although I still think he will stay with barca.

Believable52 Unbelievable39

200mill buy out clause. don't think so

Agree0 Disagree0

200 mil buy out clause to everyone except arsenal. arsenals buy back clause is 40 million euros

Agree1 Disagree0

If Fabregas does come it will be f
or a loan deal which would suit both parties

Agree2 Disagree0

Fabregas won't leave, if they lose Villa and Sanchez they will be too light in squad depth. I still see him as The next in line for Xavi's place.

In Arsene I Trust.

Hearing a lot of rumours that cesc is quite likely to return to arsenal, although I heard it is supposed to be complicated, I'am excited about this but still see it as a bit hopefull, who knows tho, what do ye make of this eds? And insight would be much appreciated,

Jack N. {Ed027's Note - I reckon he'll stay at Arsenal

Believable12 Unbelievable23

Ed001, you said you expect Usmanov to make a takeover bid, I was just wondering if you think this bid will be successful. Thanks a lot {Ed001's Note - Kroenke will take the money if enough is on the table, yes, I think Usmanov will push it over the line this time.}

Believable43 Unbelievable23

Just can't see it happening, kroenke makes his money utilising club facilities, his american football team were looking for new home, nfl looking at maybe a team over here. Apart from ruining our carpet of a pitch, is he thinking a london based team and utilising the Emerites?
Im hoping Dein comes back and smooths things over so the 2 can work together

Agree0 Disagree0

I hope stan takes the money and carry on running American football teams and whatever else he's into and leave the real football to people who know/care about our club instead of just using it as a money making project. If this happens edd01 do you know when? Will it happen in time to use extra funds in this transfer window? Thanks

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed how long until usmanov makes this bid, when do u see it happening?

Agree1 Disagree0

Stan needs to take the money and go, nothing will improve with him in charge, mediocrity will become the norm

Cesc Fabregas to Arsenal now gaining pace after bookies in the last few hours slashed odds of him returning from 6/1 to 11/4.

Believable57 Unbelievable22

I'd love to see it happen, but I just don't think it will this summer don't think Barcelona will want to sell, and he may want to stay and play with Neymar and Messi. But who knows perhaps the addition of Neymar and likely a defender and goalkeeper will mean they will be open to selling. If people are going by what Guilherme Balague said about him not leaving, I don't know how much I trust what he says anymore after denying Pep would go to Bayern and a few other things. But a large number of the Eds are saying that he won't leave and they are normally right. but I hope they are wrong! nothing personal just want him back at the club.

And the odds being cut is a common thing bookies will do to make money, lots of talk about him moving and they know arsenal fans want him drop the price hope people will bet because of all the interest and they've got your money. Reduced odds doesn't always mean things are more likely sadly.

Agree0 Disagree0

I hope so, but can we REALLY believe bookies

Agree0 Disagree0

You're right, the odds dropping often don't mean anything but bookies don't drop them by that much unless thousands of pounds have been placed. So either people are speculating or someone knows something.

Agree0 Disagree0

The return of the king

Agree0 Disagree0

Best odds I can find is 4/1. He's still 4/1 to stay at Barca. Don't believe every tweet you read

Paul

Agree0 Disagree0

Let's be honest.

IF (and it's a big IF) Fabregas was to leave Barcelona this season, there is only ONE club who would join.

ARSENAL.

Surely like persie he would want to win things now he has had a taste

i'm not going by every tweet I read, I don't even use twitter. bookies are offering those odds so you couldn't of looked very hard.

Agree0 Disagree0

If he comes it will be on loan this year

Agree0 Disagree0

On loan! Don't think a player of his stature would or should be loaned out. Even if he cost 20 mil we would in effect only be paying 10.

Heard it here first guys but looks like we're in for Belgian Porto midfielder Steven Defour. looks decent and for a fee of 12M I don't see no wrong would like to see more of him though, please leave a comment if you know more about him, thanks,

Dave

Believable12 Unbelievable46

Dear Dave,
He is not terrible, that much is true, but he's been raced by in Belgium set-up by the likes of Fellaini, Dembele and other Witsels, while since his move fro some 5mio € 2 years ago to Porto, he's been in and out of the team, a bit on the fringes, so it doesn't seem like he's a player to make Arsenal really a better team. Best, peter

Agree0 Disagree0

Wenger and fergie were both looking at him a few years ago when he was at standard liege before he was injured he looked a very good player but after his injury he went off the radar

arsenal have tabled a bid for david villa belived to be 10 million euros. villa wants to join arsenal over spurs. ashley willams is pretty much a done deal just like poldoski was this time last seaon also stepping up their persuit of jovetic.

all I need to TELL you guys for now is marco reus. keep you eyes out for that over the next week or so

JJGOONER

Believable14 Unbelievable75

I think Marco Reus is going to be a world beater for years to come. He is so elegant and precise on the ball, I love the way he plays. In all honesty tho, I think the chance of him joining is zero. Would love it but can't see it

Agree3 Disagree0

Yup I heard it too. he is going to play for dortmund next year. indeed.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd cream myself. But since Arsenal have never made me cream my pants due to a star signing I'd say the likelihood that I'll be creaming my pants is very very slim.

Not: I'm talking solely of star signings, not players like Henry who became world beaters.

But who knows, if Usmanov comes in with an empty chequebook.

StEvE

Agree1 Disagree0

An empty chequebook is no good but if he sign blank cheques that would be better!

Agree1 Disagree0

He is amazing i'm surprised I haven't heard any rumours about him yet I hope he comes to the bpl idc what team I just hope he does

Gingernut

Heard that Bernd Leno is an option for Arsenal.

Believable5 Unbelievable36

31 May 2013 01:48:47
Recently heard about a a couple of clauses in faberegas's contract. Aparently if he were to become available Arsenal would get first dibs, meaning we'll be the first to hear about it, also if we match the money put in by another club and that bid was accepted, they have to accept our bid also. However the most interesting one is that we have a 50% sell on fee! Meaning that if he were to be sold for £30 million, we'd get 15. This is also means if Fabregas was to leave Barca, and if we were to bid say £10 million, this would be the equivalent to any other team bidding £20 million. I doubt he'll be leaving anytime soon, but if/when he does he will most probably be coming to us!

Another quick rumour Clemont Grenier of Lyon is more than probably going to join, he's not amazing but has potential, also looking likely as Lyon are financial trouble; hence why they are getting rid of allot of their team, including Gonalons! Also sanogo has pretty much joined. I wouldn't be surprised if he's the only striker to come in.

We're also looking at keepers but I doubt we'll sign one. Cesar, Mignolet, Begovic and also a couple of young German keepers but again I doubt it.

So basically were probably going to spend about £10-15 million out of this so called £70 million war chest, unless we go after jovetic! Which would be brilliant!

And that's our summer!
Gooner Joe

Believable70 Unbelievable38

Fabregas cost Barcelona 35 million. Do you really think that they would add on 50% sell on fee? Come on mate get real. Also your talking nonsense about the bids also, we get first dibs then we can wait and see who bids what then throw in 50% and he’s ours? Do you think we came down in the last shower mate?

Realistic Gunner

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't know where you got your information at all and to suggest we'd only make two signings and one of them being free is ridiculous considering the amount of players due to leave the club in summer. Sangogo is very young player and will most likely be loaned out next season in the premier league or championship. Then we also have the departure of players such as D'jourou and Santos, Squillaci who need to be replaced, we are short on first team centre backs as well as fact Sagna may leave we'd need a replacement. Fabianksi's contract ends in June and there is no news of a new one being offered so how you can see us not being a new GK I can't understand. You forget our need for a box-to-box as Wilshere will probably miss the start of the season along with Diaby.

Agree1 Disagree0

Story on tv that Fabregas isn't leaving and that his buyout is 200million Euros. As much as I would love to welcome him on his triumphant return I just cannot see it happening, especially this summer.

I am, however, still keeping faith that money will be spent over the next couple of months.

Ross

Agree0 Disagree0

Thats incorrect about cesc! we do have a sell on clause but it 50% of anything over what barca paid us not of the full amount that would just be crazy!

Agree0 Disagree0

Dont read too much into the cesc stories.

If barcelona need to sell him, they have to sell him for big money.

Considering they have spent nearly 30 million euros of their 50mill euro budget,

20 mill euros to buy a defender is not enough.

Valdes is due to make a statement today regarding his future, David Villa will be sold if they can recoup around 15 mill euros.

afellay, dos santos, thiago are the next progression of players to be sold.

Also if cesc is sold, they have to believe that xavi can go another 2-3 years, and considering his recent injury struggles, I find it hard to think they would give the keys of the midfield to thiago, over cesc.

So in short, if someone is willing to pay what they paid, they will consider selling cesc, if it is for around 20 mill, arsenal will definitely buy the player, and I can state that he would be very reluctant to do a RVP.

some players actually do understand what it means to be an arsenal fan.

Agree0 Disagree0

31 May 2013 10:31:05
50% sell on is anything over the original price - so if original was £35mm and he went to PSG for £50 we get £7.5m. Highly unlikely as much as i'd like it.

Rob G

Agree0 Disagree0

We get 50% on any PROFIT made on fab not the whole fee

Agree0 Disagree0

Im pretty sure it is a 50% sell on clause, because at the time Barcelona were so keen to sign him, and we didn't want to let him go, so they put 35 million in and the 2 clause I stated before. They saw him as the next Xavi (meaning long term and probably wouldn't want to leave as its his boyhood club) and why would Arsenal agree to 50% of the profit they make off him? When they could've easily if just asked for like 20% sell on. Let's face it he would never move for than £35 million! Plus Barca were so eager to get the deal done that is why there is this 50% sell on clause, because they were sure he would stay for life!

Aswell I wasn't saying for sure were not going to sign anyone else but I think we're just going to buy 2-3 players and promote from the youth squad.

Gooner joe

Agree0 Disagree0

We have a buy back clause that we get him for what we sold him for

Agree0 Disagree0

We would get him for less than we sold him for, because Barca still owe us around 8 million for him. Realistically if Barca wanted to sell, we could get him for around 18 million. A steal.

Christian Benteke told press in the US while on international duty that "If Aston Villa say I must stay, I won't necessarily accept that. I do not in any way want to feel I didn't get the most out of my career. I try to get everything. "

He also, perhaps more interestingly said "If the chance comes up for me to join a club like Arsenal, I'm convinced we can reach a compromise where everyone comes out a winner. "

Any Chance of Benteke?-Source the sun.

EDOO1 IF YOUR AROUND I HAVE A COUPLE OF QUESTIONS FOR YOU.

1-Do you expect arsene wenger to be manager come next season.

2-do you expect USMANOV will make a take over bid. {Ed001's Note - 1. yes, it does look like Bould was just worried about his own job and I was just reading too much into it. 2. yes.}

Believable23 Unbelievable4

Do you expect wenger will be manager next season.

cheers mate {Ed001's Note - yes.}

Usmanvoc to launch a bid now that I would LOVE to see, it's the only way you will see us sign the likes of jovetic, cesc, Rooney etc

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry ed I meant to say will he be manager after next season {Ed001's Note - ah, that is impossible to say with any degree of certainty, but it does seem he currently has Usmanov's backing, so it seems likely.}
