Hi Ed, it sounds like Arsenal turned down the chance to sell Mesut Ozil despite Mikel backing the move.?
Is that true?
Why didn't it happen and why did they bid at the last minute.

{Ed002's Note - I don't know whether or not MA supported the move but Al Sadd's interest was very late in the day and that likely proved to be the issue. The proposed loan to another side was tentatively agrred before the window opened but also failed for onr reason or another. Arsenal really want him sold and not loaned. They will look to move him on in the summer.}

Thanks Ed - frustrating an 11th hour offer comes in for a player we need to shift and we can’t close it out. If he’s not in the long term plans, don’t get why we didn’t cash in or why They waited so late to bid for MO10. Sounds like Lemar was an option for us. never mind at least we signed an injured left back and an unproven CD 😂😂

Or according to other outlets Artetta put a block to the move.
It's a shame we didn't break the bank in January and sign 3 or 4 household names at extortionate pilrices that could have helped us achieve 8th place this season:-) .
I suppose we will just have to settle for 10th place and use this season for Arteta to find out who he can and can't take forward into next season and beyond.
