How many shots have we had the past 5 games? How many saves has the opposition keeper had to make?
I am one of Ramsey's biggest critics but I will say sorry to him, sorry to arshavin and poldolski and to an extent Walcott ,mr wenger is making you look bad playing you out of position refusing to see what all us supporters can see, wenger so predictable Walcott on right midfield arshavin on last 10minutes when game is as good as lost, Walcott will be more a Darren bent kind of striker playing on the defenders shoulder, not a link up player, we have giroud for that but walcotts pace through the middle will free up space for our midfielders

No wenger continues to stick to his ways and wonders why players let contracts run down and jump ship, mr wenger maybe you need to be the next to jump ship...

If the best we can hope of Walcott is to be like Bent i would rather he stay on the wing i do not rate bent at all.

Agree0 Disagree1

We have been blinded to much,Walcott has a bad first touch, little strength, back to goal useless, if he scores as many as Bent has in his career we should be happy, Walcott lacks consistency, but will always pose a threat given the right service as he is a good finisher. Walcott will never be able to play the lone striker role in a 442 he will do ok..

Podolski must be played as a striker rather than having his talent wasted on the wing. He's a good crosser and good at tracking back but his real talents are his great awareness, quick turns, smart runs, and wicked left footed shot.

IMO a huge problem is that the midfield is not linking up with the striker (Giroud and god forbid, Gervinho). Podolski is great at that and proved it in his time at Koln. I'm surprised that very few people seem to know how much talent he really has as a striker and that it's wasted out on the wing.

Agree1 Disagree0

Let's get real. We have a team with very limited ability. Ramsey is just not premiership standards, Santos is more like conference standard, Podolski and Giroud are average and Walcott inconsistent. On top of that we have a keeper that gives us nightmares. The squad is just not good enough and regardless of who is to blame, changes need to be made at the top. In all my time as an Arsenal fan (since late 60's), I have never seen a team give such little effort to win a game - overpaid underperformers! The next 3 games will decide Arsene's future - can anybody really see us beating either Fulham, Schalke of the Spuds - NO is the answer!

Agree0 Disagree0

I think all the premier league managers and arsenal backroom staff come here to vent their frustration on how the arsenal team should be managed. If wenger had control of the money he would buy players for a specific position, since he doesn't he has to try to get players who do not quite fit in a single role and hence get sold for cheap. The best I can wish for arsenal is for a mediocre 15th place finish this year. This will mean the share prices drop and usmanov will still pay over the top to get them, dein will be back and wenger will get control of the finance he so clearly needs.

Wenger - Is the board holding back funds or is he refusing to spend? The million dollar question...

If the board is holding back funds then Wenger should have walked 2 summers ago, before he damaged his reputation. If Wenger is refusing to spend then he should be sacked, no two ways about it. As a manager he is a genius and one of a kind but if his stubbornness is stopping us from winning trophies then its time to step aside.

Also The formation debate is a interesting one...

We don't have the players right now to play the 4-3-3 effectively but do we even have the right players to play the 4-4-2 effectively. I'm not so sure we do...

How quickly we forget. He bought three top players last summer. A proven goal scorer from Germany, the top scorer in France and a fantastic ACM from Spain.

I think Wenger is struggling with players who are way below the standard we had between 1996-2004. Yes, Wenger signed them but with the limitations imposed by the spending and wages cap. We also simply cannot compete financially with clubs owned by oligarchs and playboys or financed by enormous debt (which we rightly will not do). There will be no Falcao or similar in January because the board will not open up a can of worms with wages. Don't be surprised if Walcott goes to Liverpool and nobody comes in. The board have promised 'jam tomorrow' for too long. I for one feel for Wenger, who appreciates how the game should be played, having to stand there and justify the squad he has.

Fair enough - except Wenger has chosen to take their silver and cover for them, rather than do the honourable thing and walk away with his head held high.

Agree0 Disagree0

We are a second tier team with the likes of spurs everton newcastle. tier one being man utd, man city, chelsea so we buy second tier players i think it is time for a change

Agree0 Disagree0

Totally agree with the previous post. Sadly we are now a 2nd rate team and the players are defeated before they start. Lean times ahead for the club as we now become also rans!

Agree0 Disagree0

The players are not of those glory year standards and yes wenger did sign them, but with age he has got more stubborn and taken less risks, if you cannot see Ramsey right midfield after his performance in Qpr game is wrong then I feel we are doomed for mediocre season, arshavin for all his critics at least runs at defenders Walcott with even with his limitations of a trick still has the opposition having to defend, it seems he wants to accommodate Ramsey no matter what, the serious question is why??

I am going to try to be objective but there is nothing working about the club except the finances.

everything about the football is so predictable that other teams managers probably do not have to watch dvd's to study us before we play them.

how much money does the club want in the bank before they decide to spend some of it.

i would of rather we had kept rvp and let him go on a free because we did not replace him with the same like quality and his goals could of been the difference for us to qualify for the CL next season which we will loose £40mill if we do not qualify.

tv is not a captain, tony adams scored many an own goal but you never seen his head drop after 5 minutes of a game.
and you can say what you like about ALEX SONG but god do we miss him.

utd play with 2 speed wingers and we play with podolski and ramsey????

i cant blame giroud he had no service and yet again walcott ends up on the wing?????

were not going to get a full season out of gibbs and santos is not a lb.

dont know where we go from here maybe its time for a change?

the only good thing today was the BEST away fans in the pl but its only a mater of time before they turn on arsene.

IT REALLY F***** HURTS ME TO WRITE THIS,I HAVE TRIED TO DEFEND ARSENE OVER THE LAST COUPLE OF YEARS AND HE NEVER REPAYS MY FAITH,I AM SO ANGRY WITH HIS STUBBORN BS AND HIS PHILOSOPHY.

going to get stoned.

Mate, i think you spoke for every arsenal fan. I just cannot understand this balance-sheet approach that the board have adopted. They just want money with the least amount of investment. They don't give a toss about winning or loosing - its all about top 4.

Agree0 Disagree0

Couldnt have said it any better spot on mate

Agree0 Disagree0

I really hope we finish 15th this season and the financial fairplay pisses on the board after they can't get a sponsorship

One word : Lacklustre

We looked tired and like we could not be bothered, although I like Ramsey he is not a winger and the message AW gave by putting him there was negative.

Podolski looks tired and has his head down, Cazorla has looked a little out of sorts in his last few games (great strike though). Giroud i'm sorry but how much time do we give him? He was signed as a goal scorer.

Santos actually played OK but he really is a LM not a LB, and as for keep bringing on Arshavin he is finished at our club and you may as well bring on one of our future stars like Gnabry or Eisfield.

Mannone played OK, but he is not good enough for us and he could have done better for RVP's Goal.

Lastly we always look 'scared' at old Trafford, why? They really are not that great any more, on paper our midfield and even our defence looked better than theirs. We do not give that much respect to ANY other team, we usually just play our attacking game but for some reason we fall to pieces at Old Trafford.

In my opinion the strikers were the difference today, Rooney and RVP kept us busy and at the other end Giroud was slack.

Sorry, hate being negative but very fed up watching us not trying, if they had of put the effort in and still lost so be it.

Dude how much service has Giroud had last 4 games? He didnt have a great game today but who in purple did? Yes he's missed a couple of easy chances but all round he's been pretty decent we need see him and Theo upfront together!

Since Gibbs got injured Podolski has been awful most likely down to Santos who is not even a championship level defender! Was more interested in Rvp's shirt than kicking him up in the air. What has happened to our beloved TV5 he's gone to pot as well.

Wenger is to blame he chooses the team/formation and tactics, why was Theo benched he's our top goal scorer this season regardless of contract situation he deserves a chance up front!

Today was the perfect opportunity to go 442 and really go for it! I believe we have great midfielders but no general we need a Diaby that can play 30+ games a season.

Agree0 Disagree0

I have to agree.... Giroud was our best player on the field

Agree0 Disagree0

Giroud was signed to score goals! We already have 5 in midfield to 'work' hard and supply chances, this guy has got to start scoring!

Agree0 Disagree0

Giroud was incredibly unlucky with his shot that hit the post, he was also incredibly unlucky not to score a hatrick in midweek. For any striker to score they need good service and it's fair to say Giroud hasn't really been getting that, criticsising a player isn't going to help improve their performances.

Agree0 Disagree0

We can not possibly hope to compete at the top of the premiership or even in the champions league with players who are not premiership standard - the likes of Gervinho, Ramsey, Djourou, Santos and Mannone are weak and would struggle to get into any other prem team. When we send out a team to play that contains 2 or more of these, we are starting at a disadvantage. There is absoutely no logic in playing Ramsey instead of Theo as that just tells the opposition that we are going to defend. I have supported Arsenal for 40+ plus years and thought that I had seen the worst defender in our history (Gus Caesar), but that title now goes to Santos - truly awful!

today shows why wenger is slowly starting to loose it.
playing ramsey out of position, not subbing wilshere, not replacing van persie and not replacing song. i still fail to understand why we sold to united, van persie was the difference between both teams that and atrouious defending again.it seems bould might be another yes man.
im not saying wenger out but im starting to loose paitence.

Watford gooner lets not beat around the bush you have just slagged on every decision that wenger made and said he is slowly loosing it and then you sit on the fence by saying im saying wenger out?

what are you saying then?

Wenger is starting to loose it. i don't want him to leave because he can still change it round but I'm loosing patience and if nothing changes in the next few months wenger might have to leave

It hurts my heart to see my Arsenal the way it is today. Average players wearing a Jersey that a few years back would only have been a dream for them. Sadly, those who run AFC are only concerned about the balance sheet -not the socre sheets. Until we stop selling our top talent, we will not get back to our winning ways. From invincibles to unconvincibles - it has been a painful journey for all AFC faithfuls.

Agree0 Disagree0

Watford...

Do you really think Arsenal wanted to sell Van Persie to Man Utd.. or even anyone. Van Persie wanted to leave. End of story. No amount of money would have kept him. If them media are to believed he turned down nearly 300k per week from City. In the end Man Utd were the only club to match Arsenals valuation. Juve offered 8m tops. Yes we could have kept him for another year. But no club does that not even Chelsea. Its player power. Always will be.

hi esd, just paid a visit to the liverpool page and there is talk of a swop deal for walcott and sterling do you know if there is any truth in this?

champagne charlie {Ed001's Note - not that I am aware of, though Liverpool are interested in Walcott and Arsenal have an interest in Sterling. It might end up being a good solution for all in the end.}

Believable2 Unbelievable25

Who all is interested in sterling ed? {Ed001's Note - pretty much everyone is interested in him, but with him being from London, it is the London clubs that are sniffing round in the hope of tempting him back to area.}

So the plan is to swap a 23 year old with 30 caps for his country - for a 17 year old with a handful of decent performances for Liverpool? Why am I not surprised?

Massive game vs United tommorow and if we realistic about the title then we must NOT lose this game. Keeper and Defence chooses itslef (although I would play Le Coq over Santos but knowing Wenger's loyalty that won't happen). In midfield its a big shame Diaby is not back as like Fellaini, Toure and Dembele United seem to struggle with powerful midfielders so with Arteta, Wilshere and Cazorla its vital we keep the ball. Up front we must go with Podolski and Walcott on the wings as Evra is now a complete liability and Rafael doesnt defend well either with Giroud up front to bully Evans which i think he will.

I will predict a pessimistic scoreline of a defeat knowing that as I predict wins we normally lose

2-1 Utd with a Rooney double
