Arsenal have been in discussions regarding two players for several weeks, one of those is Matthias Ginter, although this is not yet concluded. The other player is a left winger, I truly do not know who but its fairly well known at the training ground. Gervinho off, Ox now CDM, Poldi best off the bench. A friend of mine who is not connected to the club says there is talk of Alexi Sanchez, although I don't know what side he plays Susssex Gooner

Believable8 Unbelievable55

We shouldent waste our money on sanchez

Agree1 Disagree0

Chamberlain as a CDM! Are you having a laugh?

Agree0 Disagree0

Ox CDM? what you smoking fella?

Agree0 Disagree0

Ox at CDM, I think not.

HarryP

Agree0 Disagree0

Ox as CDM he has never played their to my understanding plus he is a little bit short for that position in height, i'm also a short ass myself

Shortass

Agree0 Disagree1

Ox as cdm? you cannot be serious?
smiffey93

Agree0 Disagree0

The left winger is Downing. Arsenal want him included in the Suarez. Wenger is a long time admirer of Downing

Agree0 Disagree4

Left winger could be nani

Nobody is a long admirer of Downing.

Ubistonk Gunner.

Agree1 Disagree0

Downing? jeez, this is getting worse every day.
chas

Agree0 Disagree0

Well, I guess you, ve been put straight about the Ox - out of interest, why would you play one of the only players in the AFC squad that love to run at defenders (and can actually carry the ball with him) and stick him in a DM position?
Podolski off the bench? Why not just start him in his best position?
Alexi Sanchez, interesting enough for your mate to mention, interesting enough for you to include in a post, but not interesting enough for you to go and google the man?
I'm feeling empathy towards the 'not so very bright' today. you can have this one on me; Alexi Sanchez plays for some little Spanish club, Barking? Barkelona? Barcelona! That's the one.

At the guy above, the OP said he didn't know what side Sanchez plays, i. e left wing or right wing. He did not say that he did not know what side he plays for. Read the post before jumping down the guy's throat.

Ed. a friend of mine has just alerted me to a rumour that if bale goes to real then they are going to outbid arsenal for Suarez. Is there any truth in this or is it all lies. Thanks in advance guys. {Ed027's Note -could well do

Believable22 Unbelievable42

They might well do, but Liverpool will be just as stubborn with Spurs as they are Arsenal.

Agree0 Disagree0

Having just watched a dismal 2 games in the Emirates Cup all optimism for the coming season has gone - we are pathetic. Our main back up defender, Miguel is a liability (for those, who remember Gus Caesar, the nightmare is back). Mid table mediocrity I am afraid.

Agree1 Disagree1

No they could not well do, it's BS.

Real would only consider going for Suarez should they not get Bale, Vidal, Marchisio or Ibra.

THEN they're looking at Suarez.

Agree1 Disagree0

I think RM are having to deal 'hard' for bale, let a lone with adding suarez into the mix.

I am not convinced they have the money. But in saying that they always seem to find the money from somewhere, so perhaps 50/50.

Agree1 Disagree0

You people have misunderstood. He means spurs could out bid us for Suarez

Chimney sweep josh

Agree0 Disagree0

Does the OP mean Spurs are going to outbid us for Suarez if they sell Bale?
If so I don't think Suarez would leave Liverpool for Spurs, why would he when neither is in the CL. May aswell stay at Liverpool, especially as Spurs are going to sell their best player to weaken the team.

Agree0 Disagree0

When Bale leaves for Madrid whether or not Tottenham bid for Suarez is irrelevant he will 100% not join them.

1. Madrid and Arsenal want him who are both better clubs in the CL and if he goes to either their chances of success and wining a trophy will be higher than Tottenham's chances.

2. Tottenham are not in the CL

3. He doesn't hate Liverpool they have looked after him he simply wants to play for a better club to win the best trophies.
He would stay at Liverpool because of how the club they have treated him instead of joining Tottenham.
That's a sideways move.

Agree1 Disagree0

They won't be as stubborn if spurs offer the correct money then it will go through, arsenal are just trying to get him on the cheap which is why lfc won't do business. By the way they can be as stubborn as they want, he is their player! It's like lfc offering 10 million for cazorla

Agree0 Disagree0

It's great how you know how much real have to spend and who their targets are! They have more than enough money to cover both transfers and they can still sell players. We all know luis preference is real so lfc would accept a smaller bid compared to an EPL team

Agree0 Disagree0

And I've heard he will never go to Tottenham even if bale leaves

Agree0 Disagree1

Liverpool want CL football, so they can keep players like LS in the future.

To get CL football they must be better than both Arsenal and Spurs. They won't sell to either for that reason (if they can help it). They will sell to Man City and Chelsea as there is clear distance between these clubs and Liverpool. They will not sell to Man United because the fans will riot.

You don't need to be an insider to know these things. Its just common sense.

Agree0 Disagree0

Real Madrid can't even afford Bale they want to pay 20 mill upfront then the rest over a few seasons seems afc have more cash than them.

Agree0 Disagree0

Anyone else noticed that Bale has been replaced on all the BT Sport posters for Ox? Happened about a week ago. They stopped running the ads with him taking the free kicks too (just to clarify, the other two guys in the poster haven't changed, so they've recompiled the image without Bale. )

Agree0 Disagree0

I'VE BEEN SAYING THIS FOR WEEKS NOW! All I've had are stupid comments like "He would not go to Spurs. " Of course he would you people do you honestly think WE ARE AN ATTRACTIVE ENOUGH TEAM FOR HIM TO CONSIDER AT THE MOMENT?

Heard we are going to offer Omar Abdulrahman a trial. Any truth Ed?

He was fantastic at the olympics last year and made onto goal's top 50 in the world. {Ed027's Note - yes

Believable28 Unbelievable9

Cracking player. Wether he's up to premier league standard is a different question though.

Agree2 Disagree0

Cheers Ed.

Seems quite the prospect!

This is fantastic news, saw him against GB at the Olympics and he was the best player on the pitch by miles. Giggs went to the UAE dressing room to personally give him his shirt.

Agree2 Disagree0

He put the Uruguay defence to the sword at the Olympics, think he'd be worth a shot!

The airlines Emirates (Dubai) and Etihad (Abu Dhabi) might have a say in this given the sponsorship potential as a UAE national. He's also done his cruciate twice so he's running out of hamstrings for repair.

Tottenham's Gareth Bale, 24, expects his Real Madrid move to be completed by Tuesday - and the Spanish giants are ready to follow up his capture with the signing of Liverpool striker Luis Suarez, 26.

Full story: Daily Star

Believable26 Unbelievable33

Ha ha haha you read the star! It's a rag who lie don't believe anything until it happens

Agree0 Disagree0

Suarez wants champions league. why would he go to spurs? it's the same thing if he stays at liverpool!

Agree0 Disagree0

Real are in the champs league and luis preference

Agree0 Disagree0

To be fair if he went to arsenal for champs league he would only get the group stages any way followed by 1 or 2 games in the uefa. Am I the only 1 who thinks arsenal should strengthen elsewhere 1st - keeper, cb, cm, am then a forward? Surely Suarez can't be the only target when these other positions also need resolving

Agree0 Disagree0

I just don't see how they will be able to afford it. It just shows that if you are a certain team in this world then you are not subject to ffp rules. Might as well not have them coming in to effect at all. Utterly pathetic

Law seems to know that Madrid aren't going to bid for Suarez. Bayern are getting Lewandowski next summer.

Rodgers & Ayre have to decide now whether to take the £40m or put up with a stroppy player this season. After all their talk of not selling to arsenal and not accepting less than £55m, it'll be egg on face if they eventually do.

I am fairly confident he'll join Arsenal in the next 3 weeks, not soon though. LFC firstly need to put some face saving PR project together if they are going to buckle to our bid.

Paul

Believable20 Unbelievable35

Haha don't kid yourself this is bs! Do you think if they had to sell they would rather accept £40 million plus £1 of arsenal or real? The price is still over 50 deal with it or move on

Agree0 Disagree0

There doesn't seem to be a plan B. all or nothing for a player banned for 6 games who's heart is really with Madrid and will only be with us max 2 seasons. He is going to be slated by press and refs. I would stay well away

'Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has told a close friend that he is confident of signing Luis Suarez. '
I reckon he was looking in the mirror Sexy Beast style. Brendon's Rogers you better watch out son!

Believable29 Unbelievable12

Yes as soon as he gets the cheque book out and slaps £55 million + on it, otherwise Rodgers and the rest of the country will laugh at his silly attempt

Agree0 Disagree1

About time somebody lightens up the mood around here hehe

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Aug 2013 12:58:46
A mate of mine ( Liverpool fan ) say's Rogers and co are adamant that the price they put on Suarez will be too high for Arsenal and that they are intent on increasing the price further.

I say get someone else and get Fellaini, Williams and Cesar

Believable22 Unbelievable19

Fine, let RM try and find 55mil+ for suarez after buying bale or goodluck with keeping suarez happy at Liverpool this season.

Agree1 Disagree0

If he gets really stroppy go back for him in January after his ban and the price may go down slightly

arsenal signs Freiburg defender Mattias Ginter for 7 million Euros. Dusted and done. Confirmation on Tuesday.

Believable34 Unbelievable18

04 Aug 2013 11:39:53
Matthias Ginter is being reported as a done deal for just over £6m. In the Sun today, a CB that can also play CDM, Freiburg's youngest ever goalscorer! Meant to be pretty awesome! Hope it's true, looked likely since the Coquelin loan to them!

Jatty

Believable29 Unbelievable8

Would love this to be true. In the right team Torres would be the fantastic striker that we all know he can be, but has he really moved from Surrey to North London or just bought a second home in Hamstead let's say??

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Aug 2013 11:44:57
Lucas Podolski has a new neighbour. Fernando Torres. I am not saying he is signing but he has moved from Surrey to North London and his odds of joining Arsenal have dropped too. Now that's what I call a rumour!

Believable28 Unbelievable30

This means pod has to constantly pick balls out his garden?

Agree8 Disagree0

I for one would love to see this Signing chelski have been using Torres wrong and if we sign him we will use him right

Agree1 Disagree2

Please God no. He has no pace anymore

Paul

Agree4 Disagree1

Great rumour. would love it. AW loves a struggling striker doesn’t he. TH for example!

Agree2 Disagree1

A bad one at that. We want some one that can find the net

Agree2 Disagree0

"pod has to keep picking balls out of his garden". love it, that's the funniest thing I have heard in a long time.
chas

Agree3 Disagree0

I would love Torres at Arsenal. just what we need and a move away from Chelsea should give him some confidence
Brad

Agree0 Disagree0

Couldn't he be joining that overated side called spurs

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't want Torres, but the thought of him coming to arsenal and scoring against Chelsea. :-D

A fee has been agreed for Ginter. Still a long way to go in the transfer, personal details etc. He's a good player but can't see him walking into the team.

I believe we needed to sign a quality DM early so he could have the preseason with the squad and challenge for a starting position. The game v Napoli showed that Ramsey/Wilshere doesn't work- the space left when they push on it leaves our back 4 exposed, just like Song used to do to us.
Arteta does his best but he's not physical enough to play that Vieira role.

Paul

Believable38 Unbelievable7

If we sign ginter, its because wenger doesn't want GENUINE competition for arteta, he just wants a guy who can sit on the bench and fill in for easier matches. We could have kept coquelin for that surely.

Lars bender on the other hand, would have been a guy that could keep arteta on the bench, and I don't think wenger is willing to entertain that thought.

Agree1 Disagree0

Totally agree about wilshere and ramsey

Agree0 Disagree0

Bender would have been a brilliant addition. As would Fellaini.

Wenger is far too stubborn, this whole English core idea is great on paper, just not on grass

Reports suggesting we are in for Erik Lamela from Roma for £26m. Probably an alternative to Suarez as he can play as a striker. He can also play wide or in the hole (as can Suarez), and he scored 15 league goals last season.

Ubistonk Gunner.

Believable23 Unbelievable32

Would be good if its true, he is one hell of a player and likely to develop into even more

Agree0 Disagree0

Would be a great signing no doubt but I can't see this happening. Complicated player ownership issues coupled with the fact that he'd cost more than the quoted £26m and Wengers' stingyness would make this a difficult transfer. That saying the fact that Gervinho is heading to Roma could make it more plausible.

Oxy Gooner

Agree0 Disagree0

Spurs looking at him, they would probably out bid Arsenal
