Apparently Mourinho is willing to sell Mata. You guys can probably see where this is going.

More fuel for the rumour mill!

By the way, I don't expect this to happen, and neither should you. I am merely stating what I wish would happen.

Selling your best player. Logic. wait.

If they sell mata, I can think of a few clubs who will linup to snap him up.

and I don't buy it. FYI

he went to madrid and kept the players that were there and added to it, you rarely see him sanction player sales unless he needs to sell to buy,

if he can have a 40 man squad he will keep a 40 man squad.

"if he can have a 40 man squad he will keep a 40 man squad. " not true. When Jose went to Chelsea he was very specific about his squad size and I think it was 23.

Read this in Spanish paper Marca. can't see Chelsea's manager playing Mata, Oscar and Hazard. He will require a more physical player/players in midfield. Jose could of signed him when he was at Valencia but decline to do so. I feel we have the same problem in midfield. lots of small creative players but no real physical players. Plus we lack a left sided wide man on top of a proven goal scorer. Think about it. Carzola, jack, Arteta. was very impressed with the Ox in the second half against Newcastle. This boy needs to be given more games next year. Then we have the dilemma of two fine left backs. unless he try's Gibbs on the left mid for a few games. A back up central defender, maybe Williams. but definitely a big nasty 6ft 2/4 defensive midfielder to compliment our much improved back line. The last 5 games our work ethic across the whole team was first class. km

Mata is likely to leave although I doubt for a cheap price.

Arsenal are set to complete the signing of Julio Pleguezuelo Selva this week.

He is a 15 year old from Barcelona who plays centre back and is compared to Charles puyol. He decided arsenal is the best place to progress after turning down a 3 year deal at Barcelona

Charles Puyol?

The one who partners Geoffrey Pique?

Agree3 Disagree0

That's good Another kid we can stick him on the bench aswell.

Agree1 Disagree0

He's signing for Chelsea

Agree0 Disagree0

A deal for Clement Grenier will go through within the next few weeks and I believe their is a deal in place already similar to the podolski situation. Expect it to be a busy summer but their will be no major signings like we are all hoping for. Whenever Wenger publicly declares
He likes a player and would want to sign him we all know its a code for we won't pay the cash but want to look like we are trying for the fans.

JoshA {Ed029's Note - Frome elsewhere - Lyon's Grenier is of interest to AC Milan, Arsenal, Juventus and Chelsea at the right price. The right price for Lyon is considerably higher when Chelsea and other EPL teams are interested and it will quite possibly price him out of the market. OL would like to keep him but are aware that Marseille would like to discuss the player as well.}

It's the bargin bucket for Arsenal this transfer window again.

"It's the bargin bucket for Arsenal this transfer window again. "

He's a talented player. I would hardly call him bargain basement!

Is the transfer window closing tomorrow? I have missed some new rules!

Patience- honestly some fans are like spoilt kids sometimes.

I don't think he was referring to Grenier as a 'bargain basement', I think he meant that we'll miss out on him cause we won't pay the cash, leading to the bargain basement

Agree2 Disagree0

I don't believe he has a high buy-out clause which is why he is very likely to have already decided to join us.

Two positions definitely to be addressed are midfield and striker; a box-to-box hard tackling midfielder is on the agenda and Higuain has hinted Arsenal would suit him and he has several offers already, he wants a new challenge. Rumours are also reporting Rooney would seriously consider us if we could match his wages but we are interested in him. Plus there's Ashley Williams who according to a web site will sign by June 9th.
