Hi Ed,

is there any truth to the rumours that we have agreed to sell Willock to Newcastle for 25m?

thanks.

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of ny agreement but Newcastle are keen and Arsenal are happy to let him leave. Also offered to Leicester and part of a deal for JM.}

I've read it is Willock holding it up as he isn't sure he wants to leave Arsenal permanently after being here so long. Can't be an easy deciaion for the kid if he still feels he has a chance to make it with us.

It’s absolutely bananas!
We’re looking to sign an attacking midfielder that also chucks his weight of goals in and won’t hold-up the development of ESR, Willock is the perfect candidate with his stellar loan performances proving his eye for goals.
And he’s Arsenal DNA already 🤷🏼‍♂️
The decision making at the club really is baffling.

Jegooner I am a fan of willock but i do feel he would be a gamble to be relied on. No comparison with him and maddison. Also ESR is still only developing as you say.

I agree with Jegooner, we should give him a chance to prove himself before spending stupidly.

For some reason people don't understand that we HAVE to sell players. If we get offered 25m for Joe Willock we cannot turn it down. I'd hate to see him leave but 25m is a good fee and we need it. Somehow we need to raise a significant amount of money by attempting to sell players that nobody wants and its no easy task and we're struggling.
Willock 25m, AMN 20m, Bellerin 18m, Nketiah 20m, these are probably the players that we have the best chance of moving on now so if offers come we've got to consider them.
Hopefully Kolasinac, Torreira and Elneny move on too 🤦🏻‍♂️.

Codza surely tho the best way to develop him is to start him every game he’s fit for, Willock would be adequate cover he’s shown that. Buying Maddison would only dislodge ESR and his development in my opinion.

Glenn mate surely that doesn’t make sense to you tho, selling a AM because you need money to buy another for double the price? Like I said above also dislodging ESR.

Maybe I’m putting to much on Emile but for me he’s in my first 11 every game he’s fit for.

I do think it's bonkers that we would pay so much for one player when we have others in the squad already yes. However, we have to sell regardless of whether anyone else or not. We have to be realistic when it comes to player sales and if they offer 25m for Willock then surely we have to take in to consideration? We have so many players on our books crazy.

Willock has always been a 'there or thereabouts' player for me and could probably be compared to Iwobi. Good player but never going to light up the world at Arsenal. Nketiah is the same.

We have a lot of very good youngsters but only a few will really do the business at the very top level. Saka managed it and Azeez and Charlie Patino will follow.

As for ESR, he oozes class and the occasion never gets the better of him. He gave our team a much needed lift and takes everything in his stride. He deserves his place and will be mainstay this season for sure.

Hey Ed 002,
I know you don't like to speculate but could you give some insight into whether Arsenal are still actually looking to strengthen in these positions, GK, RB, CM or Striker?
If so, would you have any idea of who they are realistically targeting at this point?
Appreciate your time 👌.

{Ed002's Note - I don't think there is anything new in terms of targets and the club certainly want to add a G like Onana, a RB like Aarons or Dest, a midfield player, perhaps an AM rather than a CM, and a Striker. Serious efforts are being made to sell players.}

Appreciate the insight and quick response Ed. 👌💯.

Interesting Ed, do you think it's just the market in which it is tough to sell and basically find buyers willing to pay bare minimum or Arsenal are simply not good in selling these players? Because the reports suggest enough interest in few of these players we want to sell.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - The Xhaka deal was killed by Arsenal asking too much. There are huge efforts being made to try and sell players now.}

Ed has/ is Declan Rice been of interest to Arsenal?
Think he’d be perfect for us.

{Ed002's Note - No.}

Music to my ears Ed, you mentioning Onana. These Ramsdale links are keeping me up at night. I just can’t see what the appeal is. For me he’s Kepa on his worst days.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Onana is an option but there remains the interest of another side who would likely be more attractive to the player - hence the Ramsdale option.}
