Ed - apparently l'equipe have reported that we are close to agreeing a fee for Hugo Lloris! can you honestly see this happening?tenuous i know but sagna's wife has also hinted at her friend marine lloris joining her in London!? {Ed022's Note - As of a few days ago, only AC Milan had made a genuine approach and discussions over Lloris. A move to Arsenal is possible, but I remain unsure the likelihood of that move.}

I really can't see Wenger spending big money on a keeper.

I would love to see us sign Hugo Lloris. He's a great goalkeeper and I've been a fan of him ever since he was at Nice. The Arsenal fans that say they don't want him because they'd rather Szczesny in goal are deluded. Yes, Szczesny is a decent goalkeeper but there's still a lot for him to learn before he's the finished article. All the top clubs have a great goalkeeper and Lloris would be our equivalent to Petr Cech for Chelsea, Pepe Reina for Liverpool, etc.

I doubt this - our boardroom is about to go to war.

Already the media is all over it and showing our net spend - which in truth is hilarious versus our peers.

As much I want us to sign Lloris, I don't think we will. Wenger has shown too much faith in Szczesny and is far too stubborn to replace with him Lloris as our first-choice goalkeeper. This is why we'll probably fall way short next season. If I was the manager then I would be snapping Lloris up for £15m.

As far as I understand L'equipe didn't even print today, couldn't find a mention of the story on their website either.

Lets be honest if both selling club, and agent want top dollar,mention Milian and Arsenal even though we both dont need him......he will get more wages from spuds,and lyon get more money....lots of rumours are feed to the media via agents.......We will improve both defensively and in terms of tactics because both steve bould and Neil banfield will work with the first team.....

This would anger me very much. Few seasons back we cd have got given but wenger refused. Now we have a decent keeper wenger wants to spend loads on an avg keeper just cos he's french. I'm done!

We finally have a great keeper and you idiots are about to get rid because you think he needs another season's experience. What then? Unappreciative b**tards are forgetting how well he played for us last season. I am without a doubt that Sczczesny was part of the reason we finished third and not sixth.

Great keeper? great keeper? are you serious? he has potential but he is far from great, fact."he let in the most goals in the prem last season? who knows where we would have finished with a great keeper!

To the above post it doesn't help that in one game a defense comprising of Traore and Jenkinson leaked 8. We went entire portions of last term without any fullbacks. Szczesny is still a great keeper, kind of hot-headed but how would it look if we bench him. There is no need to buy a 15 million plus keeper.

we will break even with money going out on player and money coming in for players. Especially if rvp is sold along with all dead wood at club ie Park, Chamack, Arshavin, Vela, Bendtner and Squilaci. Arsenal is a business that will always run at a profit to fill all there greedy pockets.

Vertonghen will sign for Tottenham. We were never in for him, as he is a left sided centre back who will expect first team football. I believe we will sign a young replacement for Fabianski, if he departs & little else. The new forwards have been signed.

Sounds more like wishful thinking to me than an actual transfer rumour.

He basically said that usmanov's offer to arsenal board is not to be on board, but is willing to put money in a transfer pot for team for the return of having 1st option to buy club if ever comes up for sale. he would take a non exec role, but wants to fund a team overall. he is apparently desperate to buy gunners and if ever did wud outspend abramovich as both are friends and wants to put one over roman. I like others, although like the way we run our club, but deep down gow many other clubs wud diego have a mega rich muli billionaire want to buy them? for the record usmanov's personal wealth is 8times that of abramovich and 5times that ov man city guy!

I think peolple have odd memories, as Usmanov wanted to raise £100 million for transfers through an issue, not by putting his hand in his pocket.

It is true that Usmanov is wealthier than Abramovich but in no way does his personal wealth (£12.3B) outstrip that of Sheikh Mansour (£15B). Plus Mansour has the rest of the Abu Dhabi Royal Family backing his Mancunian venture.

All the same I would love him to take over the club and install Dein as CEO.

Kroenke is doing nothing for us in terms of advancing the club.

No. The oligarchs are a distorting plague on the economies they leech off of, not to mention the inevitable harm their "money is no object" precedent has brought to football. The rampant wage inflation and irrational behavior of transfer fees are in part a result of this and the only way to return the sport to sanity is to say no.
