I'm going to have to stick up for steve u here. If evans comes he will be an upgrade. I would much prefer Wenger spending what would be seen as a pittance to get in a half decent CB that I beilive would be an upgrade on most of our cbs. We need some quality in defence and I don't trust Wenger in that department so I would prefer a damage limitation and save some money for the next manager. If you're talking about Evans as a CB that is going to turn us into a PL winning side that's a menance in Europe and a long term solution then that's not happening but that is not what steve u is saying. But in a quick fix type of way I think that where we stand and where we are weak it would be a shrewd move.

Sanogo gets it. It plugs the gap. We need super star signings but they are not leaving champions league sides for the europa league and Arsenal mid season.
As for chambers and Holding, Holding is young and will learn, Chambers is obviously not in Arsenes plans and isn't up to scratch. Koscielny is ageing and mertesacker retiring. we have to sign people else we're going to be left with our left backs playing centre back.
