Rumours that Gervinho has failed a medical are completely untrue. He passed with flying colours apparently. An announcement of the signing has had to be delayed due to a problem in the paperwork which should be sorted out very shortly.

Also Benzema rumour is exciting but is it just a rehash of old rumours?

Just spoke to a mate holidaying in Madrid. Word in the press over there is that Benzema is on his way to the Arsenal. Bid has been accepted. Arsenal delegates to fly out tomorrow to finalise the deal. Looks like we got our new No.9.Geeeeettttt iiiiiinnnnn

Believable14 Unbelievable6

He would be a brilliant signing

From a madrid fan:talented but lazy, lack the attitude to be a top striker, just think his talent is enough..glad he's gone, hopefully we get tevez

This post looks like it's from someone pretending to be foreign... Quite badly.

I'll believe it when I see it.

Not 22 mill, but 27 mill

His wages will be a problem, at his age he is not going to take a massive pay-cut, so he will not be signed as he is reportedly on around £150k a week.

Some people's posts on here are MENTAL "I work for Arsenal bla bla" go away

We aren't signing Scweinsteiger, we aren't signing Doyle (why on earth would we sign Kevin Doyle?), it is extremely unlikely that we will sign Hazard unless we can throw a player into the mix because AW is no way in hell going to spend 24+Mil on someone who hasn't proven himself in the Champions League. Benzema is more likely as he'd like to work with AW and is 10mil less, and far more experienced. Gervinho has basically signed for the club already, so he can play ont he right wing, as Wlacott has already told the public AW plans t play him down the centre next season. We won't sell Arshavin as he is too good to offload just because he had a rough season last season, Nasri can go for all I care, half a good season and he's rejecting 90'000 a week what a joker. However I think he'll stay because Fab will go.

What you reckon Ed?

Believable15 Unbelievable7

I agree that its not likely we will sign Schweinsteiger just because even if Bayern were to let him go, which I think is unlikely since they are trying to get back to their former glory, then he will be a target for the likes of Manchester United, Real, Chelsea and Manchester City who we can't beat in a bidding war. However I do get a sense that Wenger has come to a compromise in his transfer policy as I think last season's failure hurt him a lot since we should definitely have at least won one thing. Because of this I think that we have a chance of signing a big name player or maybe more than one and the two likeliest for me would be Hazard and Benzema. I agree that Walcott will feature more as a forward next season which I think he will benefit from and I also agree with you on Arshavin. He is one of those players who can win a match on his own, that Liverpool game for example and I do feel that we expected to much from him last year. Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe he started or featured in every single Premiership game, and due to his lack of stamina, an unfortunate reality, he was tired out for a lot of the season. I think you underestimate Nasri's importance for us, especially if Fabregas leaves. He scores goals, assists goals and is a threat all game unlike a lot of attackers who drift in and out of games. I think we need to keep him to challenge next year.

Agree0 Disagree0

So Nasri rejected 90K a week did he? And where did you get your info? He was our best player by a country mile last season and the only on to show a little bit of fight.
He also said weeks ago on his twitter account not to believe what was being written in the press and that if there was something to tell he would let us know. Muppet

Agree0 Disagree0

True, but I'm just saying if he's going to play hard to get then he should just go. 90'000 a week is a ridiculous sum of money to play a game of footy every 3-7 days, and he has been a star for 5 mins and we all know he came off the boil scarily after xmas last season. So if he's going to hold the club to ransom over his pay then he should f*** off BUT I genuinely don't think he will go, I believe it is all hype about him leaving, i don't think he is paying attention to interest from other clubs. But it is a fact he has so far rejected a 90'000 a week deal. Sky sports, more than one paper and several transfer sites spoke of this the other day. If I'm wrong so be it but I read it in about 6 different places so think it is probably true.

Thoughts on Gervinho? I personally think will be great signing. Could the prophecies of Dublin Gooner be true...?
Ben

{Ed022's Note - I would love to be proved wrong but feel the Dublin Gooner has got one right, whether he gets the rest remains to be seen. I cant see him getting it 100% As for my thoughts on Gervinho, I am prepared to give him a chance, he doesnt excite me but I am sure he will be a good player.}

Believable16 Unbelievable5

He really excites me. From what I've seen (YouTube) he seems like he's got great pace and has some toughness, I can see him netting quite a few goals this season

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed Gervinho was very much common knowledge.

Deluded arsenal fans. U people will not get reina. Doni has been brought it as back up. Reina will never leave liverpool now as the club is in its best state in years. Also, if you think wenger will spend 25 mil on mata ur living in a fantasy world. As i understand mata will join liverpool. Good luck though gooners

Believable10 Unbelievable18

Mata wants champions league football, so i wouldnt be so sure about that one

{Ed022's Note - This is true but money talks unfortunately...}

Agree0 Disagree0

Dear deluded liverpool fan what are you going about who says we want him we did but im sure we are not after him now i would agree pool are in a better place now but arsenal still have the trump card of champs football so as for matta we will see as for living in a fantasy world again.

Agree0 Disagree0

Its funny because liverpool arent gonna sign anyone good and are gonna fail...again... :) {Ed009's Note - personally i wouldn't be so confident, Arsenal aren't so safe from dropping out the top 4 in my opinion.}

ed do you reckon we will get mata even if Fab and Nasri don't leave and who would you like (as a realistic target) for a new LB I personally think we don't need someone that good because Kibbs will now have room to improve IF he stays fit.

{Ed022's Note - This is the second time someone has called him Kibbs. Its Keiran Gibbs not a hybrid to make Kibbs. I feel Gibbs isnt ready yet and would like to see a LB signed just to give us some depth. As for Mata, I would love to see him signed but know there are other clubs in the hunt. A deal needs to be done ASAP otherwise we will lose out...}

To the poster who said go back to your own site, its a free world. I posted last night that with the same names being repeated on our site it was nice to come on a site were the fans were realistic and not a bunch of knobs like Spud's, Utd and the 2 North East clubs Newcastle and Sunderland. But i suppose their's always one exception to the rule. If you look on banter in the early hours and a bit later, you'd see that i said nothing but positive things about your club and Night Doctor replied twice. As i had given an opinion on your great club, he gave his on Adam which i disagree with but fully respect.he also mentioned about Anfield being redeveloped. Arsenal are by far my favourite team to watch besides Liverpool. I'd love it be us two up their challenging for the title next season. The best 2 footballing sides in the league now K.K has gone back to the old Liverpool way of pass and move. You took the league off us thanks to Michael Thomas, we stole the cup off you thanks to the mercenary Michael Owen(Obviously the league was a hundred times more important ). I really belive you will spend at least 20 mil plus maybe 30 on 2 players. I know we've no chance of him but i'd love us to sign Benzema but i really think you'll sign him and will be a straight fight between us for Mata.Like i said it wasn't a random post of me going on about Liverpool, it was a response to Night Doctor. Good luck folks, except for the prick who tells people to stick to their own sites. f***in free world lad, cock. Jonson6

If Fabregas leaves it could go both ways with Nasri, either AW tels Nasri he can play in the middle (which he wouldn't do at Man U and may not at city) or it could give him an incentive to leave as our squad gets weaker what do you think ed?

{Ed022's Note - I have said from the beginning that I see Fabregas or Nasri going not both. If Fabregas goes then Nasri will shift to his preferred position in CM. If Nasri goes then I would be very suprised if Fabregas goes too.}

Believable5 Unbelievable8

I agree with Ed. I can't see both Fabregas and Nasri leaving unless Barcelona and one of the Manchester Clubs offer a ridiculous amount of money. I think Fabregas may leave and I wish him the best as he deserves to play for this Barca dream team. However I hope Nasri stays and carries on from last season and hopefully play even better in the position vacated by Fabregas. If Nasri does leave, I'm confident that it will be overseas and Wenger will have a replacement lined up.

Gervhino's a right winger. not a forward. This means Waldog'll be finally given his chance up top, as Gervhino has said he's comin to arsenal to play not sit on the bench.

Believable15 Unbelievable2

From what I've seen of Gervinho when playing for Lille and Cote D'Ivoire I wouldn't describe him as a winger. He is very like Nasri in that he likes to roam and drives inside. However like you I would like to see Walcott play more upfront as no matter what you think he is a good finisher and with his pace, especially against the weaker teams he could be very effective. And as to what Gervinho said about coming to Arsenal to play first team football, that doesn't really prove anything as that's what he is supposed to say to appease both Lille and Arsenal fans.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Jul 2011 18:08:39
Hey Ed, have Chelsea really inquired about Nasri?

{Ed022's Note - They have spoken to Nasri's advisors to ask for his availability. They have NOT contacted Arsenal direct. This is unfortunately all too common these days and ALL clubs included Arsenal do it. Find out how keen the player is, find out what wages they are looking for etc...then if they want to follow it up they talk to the club direct. Arsenal did this with Gervinho. Personal terms were agreed weeks before Arsenal actually bid and agreed a deal with Lille.}

Believable9 Unbelievable1

I really don't see Nasri going to Chelsea. Or Manchester United for that matter. I think he has a good enough relationship with Wenger to not go to a rival club, especially for only 20 million. I know people say that money talks and I can't help feel that maybe Nasri is too like his compatriot Ribery, who if you remember, played well and then turned into a mercenary going to the highest bidder for a while. But I do believe that he won't leave Arsenal for a rival club in the EPL. Or at least I hope he doesn't.
Thanks

Wenger is looking at neven subotic and a deal for romelu lukaku is done.

Believable8 Unbelievable20

Subotic would be a fantastic signing although I don't see us signing him and Cahill or Samba. And forgive me for being cautious but I would rather Cahill as he is English and has proved himself at EPL level. However Subotic looks very solid and excellent in the air and maybe with Dortmund interested in Bendtner a deal could be done. However I can't see us landing Lukaku as he was paraded in front of the big spending clubs like Chelsea and Real Madrid and will be extremely expensive. Madrid have a surplus of strikers (chance to get Benzema?) so I think he will go to Chelsea as a direct replacement for Drogba. Depending on Villas Boas of course.
Thanks

{Ed022's Note - My sources indicated to me that a deal with Chelsea for Lukaku was pretty much sewn up before Villas-Boas came in. Abramovich's team negotiated and agreed personal terms and a fee over just over £20m was agreed with the club. However, since AVB's arrival the interest has cooled and it appears he is now keen on a reunion with Falcao. This would take out one club from the equation but there are pretty of the big boys interested. Also, will Wenger flash/splash the cash?!}

Agree0 Disagree0

So how likely would you make it that we move for Lukaku Ed? Don't get me wrong I would love it if we could get him as he reminds me a lot of Drogba and I always felt that Drogba would have flourished at Arsenal. However in my opinion it just doesn't look possible. And with Abramovich's past dealings I wouldn't be surprised if he signed Lukaku whatever Villas-Boas thinks.
Thanks

Velez want 15 mil for Alvarez, Palermo won't pay more than 9, Velez find out an Arsenal scout will be in S. America and say Arsenal have made a bid for Alvarez. Roma decide to hijack what they believe must be true and offer 11m euros. Velez says we've made a higher offer. Roma concede. Inter plan to pop-in, and beat us with 13m euro, a bargain as far as they are concerned. Velez gets 13, rather than 9. We were never interested.

You think with the Brit press and rumours, after 10-20 years of experiencing that rubbish some of you would be smarter.

Alvarez is decoy created by Velez we used as an advantage. Look at how many of our rivals have signed wingers now. Liv, ManU, Inter. 3 less teams to compete for our real targets...maybe Hazard

US Gooner

Believable16 Unbelievable8

I'd like to believe that's true but just don't seeing it being the case. I do however feel that Arsenal can't have been that interested in Alvarez if they let him go to Inter for just a couple of million more than we bid. From what has been coming out of the Lille camp it looks like Hazard is staying put to give the Champions League a go. But as we all know anything can happen in football.
Thanks

Agree0 Disagree0

This is quite a good theory hopefully its true but it cud take time and we could lose out on mata, hazard ect but if we manage to get rid of the competition because they already bought people and then we just swoop in for our targets then it wud be good

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Jul 2011 17:43:02
Hey Ed or any Arsenal fan for that matter, I just wanted to clarify transfer targets that have been mentioned recently.
The only ones I think are genuine are Gervinho, whom I hope will be an Arsenal player in the next few days, Alvarez, who is almost definitely going to Inter now and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, who to my knowledge we haven't bid for just inquired about.
Are there any players that I have missed out who have been directly in contact with Arsenal? Mata possibly but in my opinion not convinced.
Thanks

ed could you confirm if Inter have signed alvarez yet? Its not actually on their website yet? how could we have missed out on him after tracking him for so long?

and ed what are the chances of us signing Arturo Vidal or Matuidi?

{Ed022's Note - Inter have agreed terms with both Alvarez and his club. It appears he will join Inter in the next couple of days. Not heard anything regarding Vidal. Wenger is a fan of Matuidi but no bids or enquiries have been made for him.}

gervinho shoulod be good but another squad player we might aswell sign 3 great players then 6 good player....any news on nasri? and taarabt would be a good buy but not for arsenal due to his atitude we need hardworkers like barton etc...

Believable9 Unbelievable2

Taarabt is a good player but is not needed at Arsenal, very skilful but we have a lot of players like him. Also his attitude would prove a problem I think and furthermore still not convinced he is as good as everyone claims as he hasn't been tested in the top leagues yet. I think Gervinho is a good signing by Wenger, he looks like a player not afraid to run at defenders and can shoot on sight which is what we need. I actually think that Barton would work for us as I think Wenger could calm him down like he did Vieira and he would be useful, especially during the African Cup of Nations when we lose Song. However still not seeing any signs of a deal.
Thanks

Omg taarabt it overrated and greedy and no way arsenal quality also PSG are after him and they have quatar money to spend

ed can you explain to me why arsenal dont just issue a statement sayiny that fab is not for sale for anything else then 40-50 mill or whatever they value him at...then barca wudnt try and get him on the cheap, you see all the presidents of the italian clubs comming out and sayiny these sort of things and they get top dollar for there players and also how come english clubs dont insert the kinda of release clauses in players contracts that seem very popular in the rest of europe as this would protect from players leavin on the cheap...have you any insight into these questions and whats everyone elses opinion on them..
jay..

Believable3 Unbelievable1

I totally agree mate I have been a gunner all my life and to see Clichy go for 7M is disgusting, 7Million, thats a slap in the B**ls man I agree Wenger should stand his ground and tell the clubs put up or shut up

Agree0 Disagree0

There is slight problem I'm noz sure that Cesc is Cathalonian I belive he is Spanish wich doesn't reject possibility that he might move to Real Madrid, this is the reason of such hysteria in Cathalan newspapers. AW will sell him to one who pays more.

{Ed022's Note - Sorry but I think you're wrong. He will not join Real Madrid. Its Barca or nothing. He is a Catalan and is a Barca fan/former player. He will not join a club knowing that it will prevent him from probably ever joining Barca. Yes I know players have joined from Madrid before but if he did go there and was a sucess then its highly unlikely they would want to sell him to their main rivals..}

Agree0 Disagree0

I do think that too let Fabregas go for less than 40 million would be a travesty in this day and age. Especially looking at the likes of Henderson costing 20 million and players like Pastore and Sanchez being offered at ridiculously high prices. However I think Fabregas understands Arsenal's position and is honourable and loyal enough to not force a move through for a small sum. After all I do feel he deserves a place in the best team in the world, even if it hurts to see him leave. As to the post above regarding Clichy. In my opinion it is not too bad a piece of business although I would have rather seen him go overseas than to a rival. He was a very good player in the 2007/2008 season but since then unfortunately dropped a level I think mainly due to injuries. If Gibbs can stay fit I think he can step up, much like Clichy himself did when Cole left, but I do feel Wenger has to look for another left back in the market.
Thanks

Agree0 Disagree0

How come english clubs dont set a release clause figure like the rest of the clubs in europe do..this wud surely work in the favour of the club then as it wud set a starting price instead of a club trying to get a player on the cheap
jay

{Ed022's Note - Spanish clauses have a release clause inserted in EVERY players contract. This is a law that all clubs follow. Even if a release clause is agreed there can still need to be an agreement from the club.}

Hey Ed I was wondering what you think on our goalkeeper situation? In my opinion Szczesny is extremely talented but needs some experienced competition. I was hoping Wenger would go for Given but that doesn't look likely. With the proposed move of Doni from Roma to Liverpool do you think there is any chance of a move for Reina?
Thanks

{Ed022's Note - I think WS will be a good keeper soon enough however, as we all saw in the CC final, he still isn't the finished article. I would love Reina to sign but can't really see it happening. I think Ivan Gazidis messed that one up last year...Still, it could be revived...}

Believable4 Unbelievable2

So do you expect to see any movement from Arsenal on the goalkeeper front Ed? And if so for who?
Thanks

{Ed022's Note - Word I am hearing from my BBQ sources are that Arsenal have "enquired" in a European based goalkeeper which is believed to be Stekelenburg. Also, rumours are gathering about Reina. Personally though, I would be v.suprised to see Reina. Stekelenburg is a top keeper and I would love to see him at Arsenal just to take some of the pressure of WS. In all honesty though, no formal bids have been made for any goalkeepers to my knowledge.}

Believable8 Unbelievable6

Wrong. They fly out Sunday it will DEFINITELY be reported/announced before then.

I agree with the post above. He must surely be announced as a signing before then if the squad leave on Sunday.

{Ed022's Note - He will be announced before we go and I would say travel with the squad.}

Night Doctor, again thanks for response. I think Baines is the best left back in the Prem bar none. Like you say about his free kicks being deadly but he's also got more assists then most wingers/wide player in the league. Shame Moyes would resign before selling him us. Adam is to have a medical today, 9mil agreed. 3 of the Eds had said it was definate a few hours ago and know its just come on Sky sports news said its definate. I know he splits opinion including yours which i respect but the truth is we've always had a good starting 11 but look at last season for us. We had, Poulsen, Cole, N'Gog and Jovanavic on the bench which was just f***in dog s**t. We just couldn't just make subs without weakaning the side badly. With Lucas away i'd suspect Adam will start the season with Gerrard in the centre of the parkwith Lucas straight in back in the side though when recovered from his exploits. I can see Benzema signing for you though. For some reason it seems Argentina players are the new Brazil re players(Except Baptista).Everybody seems obsessed with em at the min and as good as Higuain is, i think Benzema is a good a goal scorer and a better all round player. Him and RVP would be lethal if given the right service. And your point re Anfield. When FSG took over the Red Sox baseball team, the their were calls for them to knock Fenway park down but they redeveloped that and did a great job doing so, and i think they'll do that with Anfield as long as we can get at least 55k fans in min. We could do 60k like you but weather theirs enough room around Anfield remains to be seen. Think if ya miss out on Enrique it could be a blessing in disguise with Baine's or maybe the Celtic left back. Dont know he you rate him but he'd be my first choice to come to Liverpool but i doubt he'll be joining us somehow, i gotta feeling that Wenger will splash out this summer as well mate. Jonson6

Believable8 Unbelievable1

Why the hell has this landed in the Gooner section - be off with you foul scousers

Agree0 Disagree0

To the post above, a lot of what he/she says applies to Arsenal or did you not read it? And to Jonson6, I'm still unsure on the true quality of Izaguirre, he looked good for Celtic this year but as we all know there is a huge gap between the SPL and EPL. Baines would be a fantastic signing but don't see it happening, he is too fundamental to Everton and only a big offer could tempt them, which is not likely from Arsenal. Enrique may be the likeliest but that isn't saying much as your team look formidable on the transfer market at the moment.
Thanks

Agree0 Disagree0

Jonson6. the 1st reply to this post is just someone being stupid.. okay, maybe it should be on the banter page not this, but otherwise whats the problem? someone needs to learn to look in a dictionary and find the meaning of 'banter' after all it would be boring just listening to the same record time and time again wouldn't it besides, how does he/her know where your from ... would be interesting to know if said poster is from anywhere near arsenal.. or london even some folks need to put their brain into gear before putting fingers onto keyboard

hi ed.....plz review my preffered and affordable squad for next season

sczeszny

sagna cahill vermaelen cissokho

wilshere song

gervinho fabregas nasri

benzema

subs:

fabianski
samba
n'zonzi
ramsey
walcott
hazard
rvp

hey ed....according to me...its not a dream team..this squad can be possible...depending on wenger....he must be ready with lucrative deals.....now first of all...u will question on rvp sitting on bench....right?....answer is rvp is too much of an injury prone player..so it would be better to use him as a substitute in many matches(means to use him for last 40 mins) and start with him in big matches...this would give time to rvp to maintain his fitness plus benzema would get enough regular football to settle down......now since hazard is just 20...so it would be a fantastic deal to get him...no matter what amount lille wants...hazard would e a back up to nasri.......n'zonzi would be a perfect back up and competetor to song......walcott would be used as a versatile player who would play as a striker when rvp is injured and sometimes a back up to gervinho.....also it would be better to make walcott play up front in fa cup matches..so that he can settle down at strikers position..........
the most important thing is.....cesc and nasri must stay

what do u think about my post ed?

Believable3 Unbelievable14

I think you are deluded if you think Van Persie will be left out of the starting eleven. Besides Fabregas, he is our best player by a mile and the most experienced. Plus his scoring record isn't half bad.

Agree0 Disagree0

Just no.

Agree0 Disagree0

Are you crazy RVP on the bench

Agree0 Disagree0

If we had that team we would get relagated

Agree0 Disagree0

This is just all wrong, wrong, wrong. Notwithstanding the fact that Fabregas, at least will be transferred, RVP on the bench is like giving the sid a hamstring before they leave the tunnell. F.x

ed looks like chelsea are interested in nasri along with s**ty and united.
we have 3 teams that are full of talent that sits on the bench if hes going to go why can we not dictate the best deal for the club.
i cant understand why when the clichy deal was done why we did not turn around to them and say give us 4 million and shay given after all we have done transfers the last few years with them they cant have it there own way the whole time.
is it about getting the money in the bank or are we not interested in improving the team.
i feel there is a real problem with us in the transfer market.
i do not understand the logic we will sign GERVINHO for 12 million and he could end up a new henry or he could end up a flop when you can sign BENZEMAN for 20 million who is the real deal.
i really think we will spend money but how many world class players will we sign.
in my opinion we only need 6 really good players to win the league and 3 of them are at the back.
MY OPINION
CAHILL
JAGIELKA
WORLD CLASS CM
GERVVINHO
BENZEMAN
HAZARD
AND KEEP NASRI OTHER WISE SELL HIM TO CITY FOR 20+SHAY GIVEN
{Ed022's Note - I said a week ago I was frustrated that we didn't push for Given in exchange plus cash for Clichy. It does seem very one sided. However, I am still sure that Nasri will sign a new deal. I would prefer that to selling him and getting another player who we dont know if they can do it or not. As for Gervinho, well he doesn't get my heart going but I suppose I wont argue with the boss...}

Doni signing for Liverpool, then Reina to Arsenal will be announced. Arsenal have triggered his release clause & he wants to play CL football & move his family to London. For those doubters there is no way Doni will take a drop in wages & move from Rome to Liverpool, to play second fiddle to a top class young reliable keeper. Info came via an Italian lawyer based in Rome...

Believable15 Unbelievable10

My girlfriend is an Italian translator & has heard through the grapevine that Doni moves to Liverpool, as Reina is going to Arsenal

Agree0 Disagree0

It will be a grreat news if it is realize.

King Kenny

{Ed022's Note - The rumour is gathering pace and as an Arsenal fan I would happily see Reina rock up! Cech/Hart and Reina are the best 3 keepers in the PL so I would be more than happy!}

Agree0 Disagree0

Pretty doubtful on this one. He would cost 20m+ and I don't see Wenger risking Szczesney's future. I'd love him to sign. Also Doni was back up at Roma to Lobont so think he is joining Liverpool as back up not number 1.

I am nothing to do with Arsenal just reckon that the world will not be over if Fabregas and Nasri leave we never won anything with both of them (apart from the FA Cup in 2005 with Fab but he did not play a major role). As much as it would upset me to let Fab go I think it would be right for the player as he has desired this move for a while now and hasn't been able to concentrate on the pitch. He has given so much for the club and therefore I believe we should let him move on but only for the right price. Nasri in my opinion is no better than Ramsey. He had a good start to the season but then flopped. If he didn't have that good half then I believe that he would be on peoples 'dead wood' list.
If these two go I strongly believe that Wenger will allow Ramsey or Lansbury to step up and replace Fabregas. This is Wengers policy and it would be good for the future of the club and British football. But I do believe that he will spend money on someone well known to replace Nasri. Maybe a Mata, Hazard or someone but I believe that this person would not have been reported in the papers.
I also believe that we will sign Gary Cahill as with only one year left on his contract Bolton are in the same position as we are with Nasri and have to sell or risk on losing them for free next year. Also with Arsenal reportedely the only team interested and with the offer of Champions League football, higher wages and a certain starting position I can see him joining.
By the time this is posted Gervinho may have already joined the club. I believe that this could be a very good buy but I agree if Bendtner does go we would need another striker. I do not know what Wenger will do in this situation as at some stage at least 3 of our 4 top strikers will be away on international duty whilst we have matches. Gervinho - Ivory Coast, Chamakh - Morrocco both in the African cup of Nations and Vela may miss the beginning of the season due to extra rest from the on going Copa America. I would personally want to see a Benzema or Falcao joining but in all honestly I cannot see this happening.
The only first team player thus far who has been sold is the last member of the invincibles (all be it a very minor member) Gael Clichy. Many fans have been discussing that perhaps we may see Vermaelen being shipped over to the left side of defence. In my opinion Wenger would not do this as Vermaelen is a key member of our team and therefore should be at the heart of our defence. I think that Cissokho would be an excellent buy but also too obvious. This makes me think that Wenger may pick up a young foreigner to step up to the plate or like he did when Ashley left give a young up and coming player a chance e.g. Gibbs or Traore (although Gibbs is injury prone).

Again I am going to reiterate I am not in the know but am just predicting what I believe will happen this Summer.

The reason Arsenal have not signed Cahill or Samba yet is that AW is pushing the time, Coyle said himself that no bids have been made and that he wants teams to bid sooner rather than later In AW eyes Owen is getting worried he could loose his star CB on the last day and not have time to get a replacement, which will force him to lower the price a little Samba will only come in if we can't sign Cahill

Mong Out

Neither will sign. There has been no real interest from Arsenal, its just rumours from fans and media.

The price ain't going to go down the longer you leave it if anything the closer it gets to deadline day the more the price goes up bolton don't really want to sell cahill but are willing to but he won't come cheap plus chelsea and man city are looking to and we all know arsenal can not compete with them money wise

Gervinho to sign today I work for the Arsenal tour company, in the Emirates staidum, i have been told the tours are off today, due to arrival of Gervinho & another player who they didn't name. The stadium has cameramen stacked iniside waiting for Gervinho and Ivan car is parked nearby, hopefully this will be the start of many. The other player has been tipped to be Chris Samba, as i heard from a realiable source he was looking at house's in the North London.

In other news, i heard Nasri is on his way to Manchester City training ground, when he flies in from his holiday from Las Vegas & Cesc is staying at Arsenal, after wanting to win a trophie for them.

Believable16 Unbelievable10

Well for one I never believe it when somebody says they know what's going on because they work for the club somewhere.

We all know Gervinho has signed so that's not news either Fabregas is in meetings today and he will NOT be staying at the club.

Agree0 Disagree0

The only reason cesc will stay at Arsenal is if the two sides dont come to an agreement. He doesnt even want to go on the Asia tour, so it definately aint coz he wants to win a trophey for us?
