its a fake twitter account which fooled even the press

Agree0 Disagree0

No it wasn't...

Vargas' Agent bandied about the names of Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea being interested in his client at least a day prior to this "TAngleFootball" account.

He has absolutely none of the credit; because he was trying to be ITK but only 'admitted to a hoax' when it became clear Vargas would be off to Sao Paulo.

Hi Ed
Are we interested in Iago Aspas if celta vigo ? How well you.rate him?

Looks to me an excellent centre foward ? Why we have shortsighted levendoski as one of our target players. I haven't heard. Any news or.rumour that AW is looking considering.as one of Jose prime targets ? Man ltd have shown interest, but if spurs can get Holtby, when it looked so certain AW will buy him, but due to quick work by Daniel Levy, who was o guess directly involved in negotiating, which changed the scenario.

We need a creative player to help out Santi and to replace Rosicky who looks like he could be on the move, top of our list is Belhanda, Sneijder and Cabella. We need a defensive midfielder, I'd like to see M'Vila, Wanyama or Capoue come to the club. A strong centre back is needed, Yanga-M'Biwa looks a great player and would be welcomed. If Walcott does sign a new contract then I think we won't be needing another striker in this window.

I have just read that Belhanda is very close to joining Fenebache

We only need a proper CDM and then we can push arteta up the park and rotate him with cazorla or jack

Why is everyone looking to replace Rosicky when second half of last season he was one of our best players ? I can`t wait to see Rosicky, Santi and Arteta together.

Ed i have heard arsenal have intrest in 6 players who are catching wengers eye, David villa, Fernando Llorente, Jack Butland, Luis Nani, Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa, Yann M'Vila knowing arsenal we will leave it too late like always and end up buying no one or players never heard of

Believable31 Unbelievable18

After yesterday's pathetic performance following on from the dross at Southampton a complete overhaul is needed. Neither Sagna or Gibbs are good enough (just look at the goals conceded recently) and none of our central defenders are on form. Ramsey is awful and Podolski is being played out of position. The Ox is going backwards and I just cannot understand why Rosicky is not getting a game, nor Jenkinson (where has he gone). We need decent back up keepers too - all of this is down to the Club Management. The only good part of our team is the midfield 3 of Jack, Santi and Arteta. Walcott is just not good enough to lead the attack and as for Gervinho - let's hope he loses his passport when away at the ANC. We need at least 8 new players.

Hi Ed, do you see any chance of Wilfred Zaha joining arsenal in January or this summer? {Ed002's Note - Crystal Palace will look to hold on to Zaha until the summer and if they get promoted perhaps after that. He was to be allowed to move this past summer at the right price with Sunderland, West Ham and Reading look possible destinations. Liverpool have certainly looked at Zaha in the past but there has been strong recent interest from Arsenal, Manchester United and Spurs (as an alternate to an expensive Willian perhaps). Game time will no doubt be a factor in the short-term. Arsenal will ease of on interest if and when Walcott signs a new deal.}

TV's manner/performances have been terrible this season, he is not the same player he was in his first season at the club!

I don't think that this 'rumour' should be dismissed out of hand, I have read similar things about AW and TV and as they say there is no smoke without fire.

And lay off malaga, some of it might not be true, but it could also be a case that the club don't talk about what they do! Take holtby, he was never an option AW spoke too much about, spreading falses rumours himself to keep the real targets close to his chest!

Agree0 Disagree0

This would fall in line with TV's insistance (last week) that there's no point buying a property as you don't know where you will be next year.

Agree0 Disagree0

Why are people even giving this guy the time of day. Vermaelen was left out to give the pairing of kos and merte gametime but of course the great fantacist malaga puts two and two together and gets A, E, I, O, U.....the people defending him are worse hes destroying the credibility of a great site and hardworking eds to satisfy his on needy nature......its sad actually malaga go make some friends man

Agree0 Disagree0

As Malaga's biggest fan, I'm keeping an archive of his best b/s.

A cash deal for Neymar is still top of the list.

I'll post it Feb. 1st for those interested to see his accuracy

Vermallen said he was looking for a house recently but then mentioned you never know how long you would stay.... Hey ed
Do you think arsenal will sign David Villa. {Ed002's Note - Arsenal are certainly interested in David Villa but I am not aware of any agreement at this time and Liverpool may well have made an approach about a loan. Given Villa has never wanted to play outside of Spain, is 30+ and no doubt be expensive in terms of insurance and wages, I am not so sure it would be a great move by any EPL club. Whilst he and Sanchez will be sacrificed, I suspect the summer is the more likely time for a move.}

Believable5 Unbelievable21

Ed Arsene Wenger was very keen on Belhanda and now that he is available at an reduced price, do you think Arsene is still interested in him?

Thanks! {Ed002's Note - In the later half of last season Belhanda attracted confirmed interest from Malaga, Inter, Bayern Munich, Liverpool, Manchester City, Arsenal and PSG and there was unconfirmed interest from Roma. The player said he wished a move to Italy or to Germany with Bayern Munich or Dortmund or to play for PSG if Italy or Germany was not possible (it seems he was not really sure where he wants to move to). A price of 30M euros was being quoted by Montpellier but they knew they were unlikely to get it. Recently Atletico Madrid, Inter and Fenerbahce have shown interest in the player. Atletico would need to wait until the summer for a move, but Fenerbahce pushed ahead and agreed a fee for his transfer, but are unable right now to agree a signing on fee and relocation fees. A thought remains that a late bid may come from Inter Milan, who have baulked at the price being asked for their first choice midfielder.}

Ed it's interesting you mentioned Roma in the same sentence as Rosicky - I went to see what I could find on the net and there's nothing after the two days that story was going round. It seems too quiet if you like. And therefore typical.

We're wondering why he hasn't been played - people say it's because he's going. That might be the case, and putting him on the bench is a red herring, but I remember Nasri playing for us just before going to City, as did Song before his move. So it's always hard to call from that thing alone, but it's the fact that there hasn't been a single thing said about him leaving. To me this could be because there's literally nothing going on - or it could be because we've already wrapped up a deal and maybe the deal is he stays until the end of Jan due to our mad fixtures just in case he has to make a cameo.

Then we see Eisfeld coming through as his replacement....

I really don't want him to go. I hope he stays til the end of the season but more importantly I hope he actually plays, we really miss him in midfield, at 31 he's still one of the most mobile, fluid, game-changing players at the club and we've missed him badly.

32 sorry *

Agree0 Disagree0

Are you soft in the head. Which of jack, mikel or Santi would you drop? If none of them, which would be sane, then STFU

Agree0 Disagree0

I totally agree, Our performances improved last season when Rosicky played and he is one of the few players that we have, who actually drives forward with the ball, and looks for a forward pass ( as opposed to sideways or backwards as per most of our other midfielders ), if we're going to strengthen our squad, there's quite a few players that I'd rather see going befor Thomas !
In stregthening a squad we really need to be getting rid of the bottom 20% in terms of quality, not players of Rosicky's calibre !
He still has a lot to offer, in terms of quality and experience !

Agree1 Disagree0

Metal I agree with you mate. To the above poster, I don't understand your hostile tone to a fellow supporter.

Playing Rosicky doesn't mean "dropping" one of other midfielders permanently, but rather it allows these players necessary rest. Right now, all 3 have been playing far too often and Rosicky is still a quality player and can do a job for us. (if you're of the opinion that we are "soft in the head" go watch Rozza's highlights from the Olympiacos match.)

Squad rotation is critical.

Agree0 Disagree0

Adding on to my above post, Rosicky has been through hell and high water with this club after a series of awful injury problems.

He is a true professional, and although not necessarily an Arsenal legend, he deserves top respect.

Absolut Gooner

David villa to arsenal will happen. Think back to arshavin 2009. We were crying out for a defensive mid... And the little russian saved our season.. With someone of villas class we can be clinical and finish those chances! Chamakh off the wage bill and a returning diaby (lol yeah i know) who knows... COYG

Believable23 Unbelievable25

Eds what do you think the chances are of us signing a left back? Firstly I don't think Gibbs is good enough (despite a fantastic performance yesterday) and if he gets injured we're stuck with the liability that is santos! MH {Ed002's Note - I am not sure it is a priority.}

Believable13 Unbelievable10

I would love to see Gibbs played wide left in midfield and a new proper left back signed.

Agree1 Disagree0

Left back (both full backs in fact) are the least of our priorities at the minute.

Agree0 Disagree0

Wtf, gibbs has been one our better players this season and is underrated, could do alot worse than gibbs and he's arsenal through and through

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Jan 2013 12:39:35
Honestly I think we should buy a left winger and then put Podolski into the center. He doesn't waste as many chances as Giroud and is quicker. Also his finishing is better than Walcott's and he's stronger. Seems like the best option...

Believable33 Unbelievable8

I really don't think a ST should be anywhere near main priority....unless Theo is off!

We desperately need a commanding CM / DM who can allow the flair players to play! A Proven Winger also!

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree, think that is where the possibility of Nani coming is actually quite justified. Plus Podolski is simply not good enough to play on the wing

W12Gooner

Agree0 Disagree0

Plus we are clearly in need of a winger if ramsey is having to play that role!

W12Gooner

Agree0 Disagree0

Theo/giroud/podolski have 34 goals & 27 assists between them so far. we have the strikers but over the past 2 months apart from a 4-5 games we have really struggled to create any chances, we need proper players in proper positions either it be right/left flank and with pace, take theo out of the squad we have zero zip to our play. in truth theo and giroud together is best for their game and podolski central is best for his not out on the wings covering. just one quality winger and a dm could change this team for so much better

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd very much like to see Ryo return from his loan spell at Wigan, a very good left winger in my opinion.

Agree0 Disagree0

Completely agree.. rotate podolski and giroud upfront.. walcott is a right winger not a striker.. and bring in a versatile winger who can play both flanks.. like we thought gervinho was going to be!

Ed are the Belhanda to Turkey rumours true>

Would be a shame if we missed out on this player.

Billybob {Ed002's Note - Subject to sorting out relocation and a late bid from Inter, yes.}

Believable17 Unbelievable5

I would be very dissappointed if we didn't go for this player. I think he would settle into London easily and has an existing understanding with Giroud.

He would have to play as a winger though, which isn't ideal...

Billybob

Agree0 Disagree0

Billybob Belhanda is actually really good at going round players and he plays all over the pitch, he can do his thing out wide pretty well.

I think we missed our chance - should really have been the summer, as now the whole of Europe has woken up to his talent and now we'll get beaten. I love Belhanda, he's quality, would have been such a good addition to the team.

Sneijder and M'vila could be bought for about 20 million all up.

These two signings could make a huge difference to our team.
20 million for these two isn't that much to ask is it?

Nick.

Believable36 Unbelievable34

You do know Sneijder is on £200,000 a week don't you ?
It won't happen, unless he is willing to half his weekly wage.

Agree1 Disagree0

No you are correct £20m for 2 quality players is fine......but to the board 90k and 150k+ a week Arsenal see that as an overspend on the wages budget....but still us fans turn up paying over the odds & top dollar...give us quality Arsenal board! we pay for it, so you should pay for it!

Agree0 Disagree0

Cant see sneijder coming to be honest. and m"vila is a good player but his attitude on the pitch is poor. he needs to mature before coming to us. if anythin we need sum1 like ozil, obviously hes out of our budget but sum1 of that quality, and a decent centre back.

Agree0 Disagree0

To the first guy that commented:

It isn't the board the need to sanction this. It's Wenger. He admitted that the socialist wage structure in place is his idea, and he believes in it! It is so fatally flawed it's a joke!

We have rubbish players we can't sell because their salaries are too high, and we can't play "world class players" the top wages, so our best talent leaves. How can a man who is meant to be an "expert" in economics get away with this!

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes. you do sit here and think why do we not buy Sneijder, Villa, M Villa, L Baines and Fellaine.
surely Everton would except 30 million for there 2. wages of Chamack, Denilson and Djourou should cover there wages. M Villa8m plus £60k wages. Villa 10m plus £100k a week(arshavin wages) Then Wes for free but his wages would be 10 million season(not far of what they offered Van Persie) we could do it if we really wanted too. we could raise a few more quid from getting rid of some more deadwood. what would we have to really outlay 50 million? oh the new extra sponsor money plus van p transfer fee. oh yeah and we could use the Song cash as well. PISSED OFF!

Agree0 Disagree0

Arsenal will vary on getting no here unless they go over the top with some wage, it annoys me cause you can't win the league or win the champions league, by buying players at 12 million and offering them 75-80k a week, rediculous

Agree0 Disagree0

Actually mvila will be 10mil and sneider would b like 5mil since inter want to get rid of him and he wants to leave but its the wages of sneider i doubt we would offer 120k which is a big cut from 200k nways

Agree0 Disagree0

These links to Reina, Lopez and Villa do not seem to be going away - is our Spanish contingent going to grow with a view to Pep coming in the the summer?

Hopefully AW's rumoured phone call to Villa was along the lines of "Come and show my strikers how to finish in front of goal calmly and confidently, get us over the line for Champs Lge footie next year, then Pep is here next season, you'll be the main man for him for at least a couple of years with a new squad built around you"...

I want Villa in an Arsenal shirt banging in the goals. Barca still owe monies on Cesc and Song (maybe even Hleb and Henry as well), so defer some payments to bring the asking price down, and there should be ample salary room to accomodate him on 100-150k p/w.

Also strongly believe that Barca have registered their interest and will bid for either TV5 or LK6 in the summer (whichever is deemed to have had a better season). We find it difficult to say no to them as we respect our players and know the move is a great opportunity. we have PM4 on a huge salary, and have no real chance of cashing in on him, so it is quite probable that the offer will be accepted and the player would obviously agree terms.

Arselona and Barcelona will continue the amicable relationship, and i hope/expect Pep to bring in a few younger Barca players, to add to the ones we already have which are ready to break into the first team squad next season - Bellerin, Toral and Miquel.
