Hearing strong rumours usmanov may look to buy fulham and bankroll them. He is desperate to get involved in prem league although loves arsenal can't see himself getting on board for long time. He wants a London club to rival chelsea

Why would he be interested in Fulham when he's still trying to increase his stake in Arsenal and wrote an open letter to the board raising his concerns?

Rumor has it that Villa + 13M euros bid has been accepted for RVP. Though i doubt this is true due to wages and the fact he wont want to leave Barcá it has been trending on twitter and on various websites

I play for Southend academy and there was an Arsenal scout looking around yesterday.
Watch out for a youngster (17 years old) called James Moran he is an upcoming star trust me, he seemed to catch the eye of the scout

How come i can't find anything about him on the internet nor on southend fc's website?

I've spoken to a friend who helps out at Southend (mainly with paperwork) and Moran is not a member of the club, he'd been invited to train to see if he were up to their standard, furiously trying to sign him after his trial- looking to make as much money off of him as they can

James Moran is dreadful! He runs like a horse, he plays as if he was trying to dance and every shot will go very wide

edd will newcastle sign debuchy we could do with him hes a great attacker and a better crosser than sagna. also at 6mil i think wenger should get him thats cheap {Ed002's Note - He might well move to Newcastle.}

Newcastle are doing what arsenal used to do buy all french players for cheap. wheres wengers scouting sytem! cabaye and gervinhio played for the same team surely thay should of spotted him. i would really like debuchy he was excelent for lille last season

Sagna is a good defender but going foward hes too predictable hes crossing aint the best as sagna is injured it would make sence to go for debuchy espically for 6mil this is one of those transfers wenger will regret

I've been thinking about some of the players that have been linked with a move away from the club, i dont actually think that they are that bad players, clearly AW thought they had something to offer when signing them, however the main reason imo is they just simply are not suited to the EPL. Vela, Chamackh sp? Denilson, Arshavin, just to name a few are simply not strong enough, not fast enough and havnt the stamina for a 90 minute high octane match in the EPL.

If you take strikers for example, if you put Chamackh in the spanish or italian league i think he would score for fun, more time on the ball, its more technical, same with Arshavin, Vela.

Midfielders, they have next to no time on the ball over here, thats why Denilson never really looked the part, in Brazil, and also most european leagues with a little more time on the ball he would probably stand out a bit more

Defenders, well if they havnt the stomach for the fight then they may as well just say goodbye, they will never hack it here, they have to be fast, read the game well and split second decisions can win or cost you the game.

So whilst we all have a moan at them for poor performances which undoubtedly they deserve they are quite simply playing in the wrong league,

Good post, definitely worth considering. Chamakh, for example, looked good at Bordeaux and I was excited about his prospects with us. Not everyone is suited to the Premiership - equally not every successful Brit makes it in European football - further proof, I suppose is our national team! To take it a step further, there are marked differences between teams within the Premiership - what works at Stoke, for example, may not work at Southampton!

Chamakh looked good at first but then he vanished, I mean not his form just him. He was hear today, gone tomorrow. Then came back in the side hear and there towards the end.

God knows what happened but something did.

It could well have something to do with climate, not many foreign players would have the stomach for Stoke away when pi$$ing down in January, i just think not every foreign player is suited to the EPL, possibly the way we play as well, what works somewhere doesnt really mean it will work here

I've always felt that Chamakh would work well with a strike partner. He's good with his head and he does have a bit of skill about him. If he bulked up he would make a great target man, laying it down and setting up a strike partner.

The problem is that he didn't fit into a system designed for RVP and strike partnerships rely on working with and understanding your fellow striker on a consistent basis. If you're only ever making sub appearances or in the Carling Cup where we rest players like RVP, you'll likely just fade.

Your point about Chamakh might have some legs. People forget he started quite brightly at AFC, but a combination of lack of games and a loss of confidence have led to a dramatic dip in form. Doesn't necessarily make him a bad player and given that he gets next to no aerial service, we could be accused of not playing to his strengths (even if they are one-dimensional). Arshavin on the other hand has talent, but is a lazy f**k who's scared stiff of a days work. Others like Denilson, Diaby, Djourou and Squillaci are just s**t at football.

90min high octane? maybe for people from small leagues like russia and that but when i hear stuff about van der vaart saying hes not got the stamina its probs cuz he hardly played for madrid.

Well N. Wales Gooner why aren't we scouting players like Squillaci, Chamakh etc and realising that they cannot cope with this league?

Don't think this would be a desperate move he is a good player, decent sub who will play is heart out for first team football. And arteta may have been a quick buy but it was a great buy. Dempsey has been looked at by arsenal for a while now.

Yes please. A great player (scored a ton for fulham) and wouldn't break the bank either. A classic wenger signing, like arteta (who, may I remind you, was superb last season).

Dempsey's work rate, versatility, touch, and run of form make him a good option as a rotating squad member but why would fulham take just 7 mil? They're under no real pressure to sell.

Reports in Spanish press this morning is that Barcelona are looking to offload David Villa to psg or an Italian club in order to finance a move for RVP. I'd take a straight swap and be more than thrilled!

Reading on several sites on the Internet about the potential of Ben arfa joining us. I personally would love to see walcott doing one and have Ben arfa terrorising premierleague defences. Not convinced Walcott even knows how to play on the wing! Lloris , ben arfa, ozil, a fit wilshire, get rid of the crap and were nearly there!!

If you watched a full Newcastle match you'd see how many time's Ben-Arfa concedes possession, the grass isn't always greener, one wonder goal doesn't make him Messi.

I completely disagree with trying to keep RVP for another year!, it shows how weak we are as a club and how 1 player has the biggest influence! Sell him to juventus, Barca are now interested as they are selling villa to get funds, Sell to Barca or juventus get 20m? sign a backup joselu as back up for giroud, sign a replacement for walcott if he leaves, sign a ACM like Belhanda, sign a DCM like coupne or M'Villa, sign a back up vertasile RB and we should be challenging for titles again

Dont need a cdm to challenge for first team, best bet is to get Federico Fazio who is primarily a cb but can play cdm as well :)

Ed what's the situation on Javi Martinez and also do you think maybe Van Persie could be playing a mind game and maybe after a discussion with Wenger and Gazides, he could turn against his decision and stay because i know wenger wants to keep him as he stated it in his blog. Rooney did it, so maybe Van persie may have rejected the contract to try and get Arsenal up and running and make the board see the light and buy new promising talent, Ursminov believes we should be buying new talent and IMO i think more money will be put into the kitty for Wenger to buy talent!
