French (serious) site L'Equipe says Santos is about to be sold to Gremio. Any truth in this Eds?

Stan {Ed002's Note - My understanding earlier in the week was that it was a loan of the player that Gremio were looking for - not a sale. I have been in France most of the week and maybe Arsenal want a sale.}

So I get asked "what am I smoking" for suggesting that if Barca & Bayern wanted Wilshere in a couple of years it wouldn't surprise me. I guess you didn't read the part where I said "another 7years without a trophy" right. You are kidding yourself if you think the FFP rules is going to turn Arsenal into Barcelona lol! Case in point Dortmund, they don't spent exuberant amounts yet they made City & Madrid look average in the CL. We at Arsenal blame the stadium for us being sh*t. Gotze is better then Wilshere by the way ha!

No-one is better than jack. And yes I am biased and no I don't care

Well the english media always hypes its players. Wayne rooney is not even the best player on his team, best player for City? for Chelsea? for liverpool? for newcastle? for swansea? I could go on and on.

however wilshere is a rare find in terms of english grit with spanish technical nous.

is he better than iniesta or xavi or cesc or ozil or silva or mata? NO

he will be a fantastic player as wenger put it.

Also the FFP will give arsenal an even field as wenger would probably have the upper hand if money is not the criteria.

We can only hope things go our way. we have created superstars for awhile now. I reckon the addition of bergkamp or Viera is to attract more of the young players to have a better lineup of reserves in the academy.

only time will tell. we are in a good position financially to do what we set out. now its all upto finish the job with trophies. and that falls on wenger, and that's the only objective he needs to satisfy right now.

I follow Bundesliga heavily mate, admittedly, much more over the past 4 years than before.

First off, Gotze is NOT better than Wilshere.
Gotze is a fantastic footballer, who I'd love to see at Arsenal (though my money is on Barca or Bayern) but Wilshere is a league of his own.

He's part Gazza, Part Brady, plays like a spaniard, dribbles like a Brazillian and has the heart of an English lion.

And I'm willing to put it on here, right now, for all to see.
If jack Wilshere leaves arsenal WILLINGLY in the next 10 years, I'll post a video online of me walking into rubbish Hart Lane, wearing nothing but Arsenal Boxers.
They guy will be buried in his arsenal atrip.
Mark my words.
You don't play like that, for a club you don't love.

Did gotze outplay iniesta and xavi when he was just 19? no, didn't think so.
I haven't seen another midfielder playing currently who has the same influence on a game.

Agree0 Disagree0

Thats not what you said mate. you said you wouldn't cry if barca or bayern came calling in a couple of years. that's why I asked you what you were smoking. because every arsenal fan in his right mind should weep long and hard if wilshere does decide to leave because, as I said, he will be the best midfielder in the world soon enough once he stays healthy (fingers crossed)

Usmanov,

You are entitled to your opinion of course. Wilshere is the first English player I have been excited about for 20 years. There is a lot of hype about. Neymar anyone, but mark my words Wilshere is the real deal. I for one would have him over Fabregas in a heart beat. the only stage he has got to prove himself on is in a world/European competition.
He looks like one of the first players who can actually deal with pressure and perform when required. Time will tell.

The English always over rate their players and can't understand why they don't win major championships. Answer = your 'world class' players are only good, and your 'top' players are only average. Wilshere has achieved nothing yet in his career - so describing him as 'world class' is a joke. Given time and experience - he may prove to be, but being the best English player doesn't automatically make him world class.

Agree0 Disagree1

Did gotze outplay iniesta and xavi when he was just 19? Home and Away.

you take gotze and we will keep Wilshere, as Shearer said last night future England captain.

Agree0 Disagree0

Well dortmund did not play barcelona. but gotze ran amok on real madrid. also he did it in Madrid besides at home.

i will say that gotze and wilshere are at the same talent level, only wilshere has that extra bit of grit.

however right now neither are world class but have the potential.

but if we are calling hazard world class then practically they too are.

Also to note I am absolutely disgusted with the departure of Andre Santos.

A legend in his own right.

hi ed002, hope your well.

i have a couple of questions for you and I know you do not like committing your self until your 100% sure but maybe you could tell me am I on the right track.

1-i have a feeling that shezza, vito and fabianski will move on in the summer, have we made a deal with stoke for bergovic?

2-i believe tommy vermaelen will move on in the summer have you heard any thing?

thanks

champagne charlie {Ed002's Note - (1) I don't know what a "shezza" is Chuck, but I agree Arsenal will be one of a number of clubs looking for a goalkeeper in the summer as there will be some shuffleing around. I am pretty certain Arsenal, Manchester United, Liverpool, Atletico Madrid, Barcelona and Bayern Munich will all be active in the goalkeeping market. There is no deal with Stoke and I reckon Manchester United would be the most likely destination for Begovic right now. If you want a GK to watch for the future, try Eintracht Frankfurt's Kevin Trapp. Someone who is very knowledgeable in the subject also mentions Fortuna Dusseldorf's Fabian Giefer as being a goalkeeper who we could hear much of in the future. (2) I am not aware of a move or interest in Vermaelen at this time.}

Seeing as we put TV5 on the transfer list by giving him the captaincy armband.

Let's hope JW10 doesn't get put on the transfer list by having the armband next season.

Eds surely there isn't actually any chance Arsenal would sign Jovetic? Although I imagine he will probably be moving on in the summer, would it be more likely that Juve or Milan will snap him up in the summer?

Fab {Ed002's Note - In addition to Manchester City and Arsenal, there is strong interest in Jovetic from Juventus.}

Believable4 Unbelievable2

Agreed Fab. See him ending at Juve.

Stewart

Agree0 Disagree0

According to talk sport, he's not going to Juve. Something to do with Florentina not liking Juventus? Arsenal are looking at forking out £20m for the guy.
I can't see it my self

Brian K {Ed002's Note - Regardless of what TalkSport say, there he is one of the three players identified as possibles for playing off Llorente.}

Why do I not see anyone talk about lavezzi on here. Imo him, goetze, wanyama and hummels would be the 4 est signings we could make. {Ed002's Note - Because he has only recently moved to PSG and won't be joining Arsenal.}
