Eds and posters, has there been any official interest or solid sources regarding m'vila. As far as I can see it looks like someone on twitter trying to stir rumours and then others exploited it. Seems very strange...

Podolski is a fantastic signing. M'Vila would be too. 25 mil for two qualities players is great. But we need Vertonghen. Considering our injury problems I wouldn't mind having 3 quality CBs. Vertonghens still quite young and is quality but if he goes to spurs then they will have a solid back 4. For 7 mil we MUST buy him. Only other player i think we need is another LB. gibbs is good but injury prone and santos is woeful.

Totally agree with you. Gibbs will always be injury prone & Santos was a panic buy from the summer transfer window fiasco. I would go for Baines, but I doubt it would happen! We have so much deadwood to get rid of 1st & some of them are out on loan..

Its not that vertongen doesnt want arsenal. but sometimes play time does matter. spurs will offer him a starting position and salary...we cant do both. besides. i think vertongen will be a late arrival to whichever club. pending champions league final results and our standing and spurs standing.

We have 3 quality central defenders : TV5, LK6 and PM4. Also we have Djouro for 4 choice and young defenders like Miquel and Bartley. So why do we need him again ?

And I say it again becoz as touted by many gibbs is "injury prone" and santos "woeful" and djourou is s**t and bartley is nowhere ready. He does not have a future at arsenal Have you seen him play? His anticipation and awareness is pathetic.. With miqule you will challenge the elites? Dream

Dont forget Vert can also play LB so would solve all them issues in 1 hit. Thats why we need him, also i feel that TV is slipping up a bit recently and could use a little extra competition to push him a little harder.

My Belief and understanding tells me that Arsenal have secured the signing of Yan M'Villa last Friday for £18 million and he has done a medical on Sunday. The reason they are waiting is to tell the fans on the last game when we get 3rd to achieve double success. Although, I think Song will be sold this season to an Italian team so M'Villa will take his place. Onto that I think RVP will sign a 3 year contract as he wants to win silverware at Arsenal.

Finally, I have intresting news regarding that Podolski wants to bring another german to Arsenal, off his twitter feed

Song will not be sold. I'll say again, he will be given a well deserved new contract in the summer.

I'm not sure how you heard this on Podolski's twitter account, considering he doesn't have one, you have achieved quite a task my friend.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has warned the club's supporters to be patient before he resumes his summer spending spree.

Wenger has already snapped up Germany striker Lukas Podolski and is looking to further strengthen his side. But he told fans at the weekend that he is still weighing up his options.
The Frenchman said: "We wanted to get at least one of our transfer targets sorted out early and we are pleased to have achieved it [with Podolksi].
"The next phase of our 'signings' will be to take care of our injured players and make sure they are back for the start of next season.
"I am thinking of players like Jack Wilshere, Abou Diaby and Per Mertesacker - when these guys are fit we have quite a big squad and before we can buy again we have to assess how many players we have."

Don't disagree this is true on BBC they're putting in last minute bid

I've seen he's been quoted as saying the sp**s are his preferred destination... disappointing obviously but it will probably come down to a club matching Ajax's asking price first off.
I still think we have a chance of doing this (10mil seems quite reasonable) and agreeing personal terms too.
We have much more to offer than that other north london team.

My guess IF true - Jadson, Diego or Hernanes. But could it be Lucas Moura? *prays* :)

Twitter again. M'Vila looks like it will actually happen but I remain sceptical about this Brazilian. Perhaps Honda is Hernanes' replacement.Who knows.

does any one actually want Vertonghen, in fairness I thought a back 4 of sagna kos verm gibbs was pretty solid and I know for a fact vertonghen isnt going to be happy sitting on the bench and vermaelen isnt going to be happy playing LB so what would you rather buying him and upsetting vermaelen or making him unhappy siting on the bench? or buy that utilty RB I forget his name the french one (lol as there arent many) or basically a utitly player that can play RB and LB and CB and doesnt mind not being a starter.

also just for fun if sagna left or what ever reason couldnt get back to his amazing best which RB would you like to see, I know he may be pricey but I quite fancy micah richards

I agree that he'd be unhappy on the bench, but knowing our back line, someone would be hurt enough to give him plenty of time. A team needs more than 4 starting caliber defenders.

While I agree he won't like being a back up shouldn't we have a squad that can deal with injuries? Isn't this what we have all been asking for? If Kos gets hurt or Verm gets hurt or God forbid both get hurt, wouldn't having Mertesacker and Vert on the ready be a good thing? Don't understand the "we already have too many" arguments. Plus if a player has any ambition or confidence at all he'll think he can push his way onto the first team. Isn't that the point, competition for places?

It is done, subject to Champions League qualification.

Actually we're signing him REGARDLESS of CL qualification...

The only thing that will change, is what's in his contract (IE: Bigger domestic bonus should we not qualify for CL)

don,t you think it,s time ,we brought a propper keeper,because if we all keep ignoring the fact,shezney just isn,t good enough,47 goals in league this season,i,d say 4 of the 8 at old trafford he was culpable for,he,s stuck by him,kept faith and to tell you all the truth i hope boss drops him for west brom.you can wish for all the attacking players in the world but untill he gets a propper keeper we,ll win zilch.who was in goal when we won our last trophies,leman and seaman.

We havent had a keeper of Shezza™s quality in years and you want him on the bench already. he didn™t have a great game against Norwich but throughout the entire season he has been one of our best players and has kept us in so many games. Your post is ridiculous! He will be our number 1 for years. Its our crappy back up keepers that need replacing. Our number 1 is arguably one of the best keepers in the league.

Sorry to say but freedom of speech has just taken a big dent by that comment. Shezza is the best keeper we've had since Seaman. Looking at the keeper as the sole reason our goal difference is so short sighted. Our defense this season has been shocking. Porbably due to piss poor coaching and lack of depth in the quad. Two quality CBs just isn't enough to protect the keeper. Sagna cannot play every game playing the way he does and Gibbs isn't experienced enough. Look at the whole defensive team not just the keeper. Shezza is one of our best players.

Shezza is by far the best keeper we have had since Seaman. The problem is the defense, yeah we have some good potential there but it needs a leader, a Adams, Dixon, Campbell, dare i say it even a Toure... we need a strong leader.

You must be actually out your face, shezza has been fantastic this season, one of the reasons we are in 3rd place!

I have to agree I remember not too long ago people wanting rid of Lehman, the keeper who conceded 17 goals in 1 season compared to 47 id say was prety good, I agree Schenzny simply is nowhere near good enough but I think he will be No.1 for a while yet.

What tosh! shezzers the best keeper weve had since lehmann , already on a par with him and has the potential to be as good as seamen as hes only really a kid , only joe hart and cech are in his class premiership wise , i think the 47 goals might be summet to do with the defence and holding midfielder who plays more like a striker! hes saved us time and time again
