Ed, after watching the euros tonight, would veloso be an option on the sentral midfield if mvila wont come? Is there any interest around him? {Ed022's Note - Probably not.}

Believable1 Unbelievable10

Veloso had one good game All season for genoa he has been very questionable!
Dan

Agree0 Disagree0

He was touted to be a target of Arsenal and Man Utd several seasons ago.

Nothing Since though

Eds what are the chances of us signing Gotze (slim I presume) and M'vila. Also why are you all called Ed, I know its obviously not all of your names (I know its a bit of a stupid question). {Ed022's Note - Ed is short for Editor mate. Goetze will not be going to Arsenal this summer, so no chance at all. With M'Vila, if Arsenal bid then M'Vila is theirs.}

Believable15 Unbelievable2

What?!?! I thought everyone who worked on this site was called Edmund. I've been misled, I want my money back now!!

Stezza.

Agree0 Disagree0

There seems to be atleast one on every site....rayzor

ed- do you think we could get samir nasri back from man city becasue mancini is ready to listen to offers and arsenal look intrested {Ed022's Note - Very very very unlikely.}

Believable9 Unbelievable30

Think he would still do a decent job for us but he would have to take a 100k PW wage cut (guessing) and we also have the problem of 99% of fans hate the guy

Agree0 Disagree0

While we are here....

can we get Cesc back?

MrD.

Agree0 Disagree0

I didn't like him when he left, but would have him back easily

Agree0 Disagree0

I certainly don't want that money grabber back at the club, we need loyal players, not someone like Nasri.

Ted

Agree0 Disagree0

We need good players Nasri is a very good player We as fans need to grow up and forget

Agree0 Disagree0

He would NEVER be accepted back... And as for 'and arsenal look intrested'.... HOW CAN YOU TELL THIS?

Agree0 Disagree0

I think we can accept him back to his former club because he is a good player and we need good players to build our team

Agree0 Disagree0

If chamak, park and vela leave and Campbell doesn't get his work permit do you think we should take a punt at Connor wickham? I know at Sunderland he hasn't really played but at Ipswich he was really good I know he may cost around the 10m mark but wages would be a low and I think he will really shine?
It would be a bit like another Ox buy
Dan {Ed022's Note - Doubtful mate.}

Believable8 Unbelievable6

You can not be serious if we are going for that standard of player why not go the whole hog and buy bramble,boumsong,heskey come on get real. Bendtner was safc starting striker last season wicks am was 3rd/4th choice last season so if Bendtner starts over him therefore better than him why buy a worse player than we currently have

Dzagoev is a free agent at the end of the year. He is a quality player as we saw him score 2 goals against Czech Republic.
Ed, do you think Arsenal will make a bid for him this summer or try and get him at the end of the year and would he be interested in joining Arsenal? {Ed002's Note - At a guess: No, Yes, Yes. Dzagoev has interested Chelsea in the past but Arsenal have shown a lot of interest this past year including sending a contingent to watch him play in Moscow back last summer. He will be available on a free transfer at the end of the year, not in the summer.}

Believable14 Unbelievable5

Anyone else reckon Simon poulsen wouldn't be a too bad option for left back. He is quick, pacy and able to go forward yet solid defensively and has been frustrating robben. also plays for AZ so will be on the cheap. Very impressed with him tonight. So far...
kb {Ed002's Note - MOTD Fever.}

Believable3 Unbelievable17

He is a very poor player.You must be drinking

Agree0 Disagree0

Thought he was the weak link, doesn't appear to be natural on the ball, his 1st touch is awful, seems like he just has a good engine and puts a decent block in. not that impressedb

Hatem Ben Arfa to Arsenal for 10m ? well ok that I just read on a few net sites !

So my rumour ? - Check this out.......

Arsenal are chasing Mesut Özil and I am reliably informed (well that means not that much but take note I will at least sign my post, and whilst I am on the subject, I take no notice at all of un-signed posts) that it involves some kind of deal.

Dont know what kind, player swap, who knows.

Anyway, I will update further when I know.

I recently posted to withdraw a rumour that I had posted as I found out it was not going to happen, I encourage such honesty amongst us all !

Gooner 1

Believable15 Unbelievable20

Yeah,good luck with that one.
Braintreegooner

Agree0 Disagree0

Could have come up with something better than gooner 1....

but regardless ive heard this a few times, would be great to see him, arsenal seem to be building on there german players... we'll see eh?
WG

Agree0 Disagree0

Real Madrid would be mad to sell him. ABSOLUTELY MAD

Agree0 Disagree0

Madrid will never sell him. After a poor start to their season he went onto be be one of if not the best player for them. Cant see this happening at all

Agree0 Disagree0

I like Ben Arfa but really can't see Wenger going for him whilst Diaby is still on squad, they don't get on from years back in Clarefontaine

Agree0 Disagree0

Diaby and ben arfa do not hate each other

watford gooner

Agree0 Disagree0

A transfer that will involve "some kind of deal"? Like, the exchange of monetary funds for a player's registration? Pretty sure that all transfers involve a "deal" of some sort!

how would anyone feel if we got granero from real madrid? just he sounds like a wenger type deal (cheap and not too old)? {Ed002's Note - Granero is surplus to long-term requirements in Madrid and will likely leave the summer. Granero could interest any number of clubs and may be used as a makeweight in a transfer. Only solid interest at this time has been from Blackburn Rovers and Sevilla back in January but unsubstantiated rumours have linked him to Liverpool and Espanyol as well but there is no confirmation of either clubs interest.}

Ed is it true that Barca are now in for M'vila? There is an article in France Football which says they are

thanks {Ed002's Note - Unconfirmed rumours at this point.}

Believable12 Unbelievable19

Wouldnt put it past them
kb

Agree0 Disagree0

Aren't They Broke 20m On A Player They Don't Really Need? {Ed027's Note - doubt it they got that pr*ck Busquets, also have Maschcerano, plus they can sign back Romeu if they need a DM

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed there both t*at but maschceranos actually talented lool.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes, it says the same here in Norway

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed,isn't it true that Barca are favourites for every player linked with a transfer? {Ed027's Note -them nd Madrid, heck even City

ed- do you think we could land affelay from barcalona this season but also he is a free agent next year {Ed002's Note - Afellay has been out injured pretty much all of this season and I think future chances at Barcelona may be limited but the kid is keen to stay and Barcelona seem keen to have him as a squad player. However, I think it is still possible that he will be available in the summer and that Barcelona would listen to offers. Italy looks like one option available to him if he is sold and there may be interest from the likes of Liverpool, Arsenal, Spurs and Newcastle.}

Believable16 Unbelievable2

Hope we do get him

Agree0 Disagree0

Sign Affelay and RvP couls stay

About Lewandowski. He has said that he is an arsenal fan and looked up to Thierry Henry. Also, when questioned about man u yesterday, he kept quiet and avoided the questions.

Believable20 Unbelievable4

The fact he kept quiet could indicate he is on his way to united. We need a player like him to signal our intent.

We seem to be linked with players only to see them go to rivals, strange since season ticket renewal day has passed the rumours have slowed significantly

Agree0 Disagree0

His national team manager said this was regards to him developing as a player that he's come on leaps and bounds and that he could play for a team like united.
words taken out of context, not happening full stop so stop peddle rumours that are a) rubbish B) old c) nothing to do with the arsenal

Agree0 Disagree0

Great goal by him yesterday though

Agree0 Disagree0

For him kept quiet it implies that he wants to play for arsenal and not man u that is why he didnot say that he like ma u so is up to wenger to send an offer for him

dzagoev looks quality, free in jan. reckon we should set aside reasonable amount for his wages so we don't miss out.
arshavins back so we should cash in on him now.

GGG

Believable19 Unbelievable6

Well I know it's fairly early doors but it looks like Dzagoev will be on a lot more teams radars now. Interest will sky rocket after the euros.

In Arsene I Trust.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Jun 2012 06:04:42
what do you think arshavin would say if dzagoev asked him about arsenal?

BgdGooner {Ed002's Note - Dzagoev has interested Chelsea in the past but Arsenal have shown a lot of interest this past year including sending a contingent to watch him play in Moscow back last summer. He will be available on a free transfer at the end of the year, not in the summer.}

Believable3 Unbelievable5

Ed you didn't really answer the question? {Ed002's Note - He will say У нас есть очень мило мяч мальчиков и приятный стадион. }

Agree0 Disagree0

Wenger will play you out of position, hardly ever start you, convince the fans you're crap, then when you are on fire in training refuse to play you and send you home on loan - don't waste your career there

Agree0 Disagree0

Ha ha great response did make me chuckle {Ed002's Note - Do you speak Russian then?}

Agree0 Disagree0

we should cash in on Ramsey i think there's no room for him

Believable24 Unbelievable29

Ramsey has simply lost it. Such a waste of great potential but there's no use for him, especially that Arshavin will now get a shout in midfield due to his display for Russia.

Eddy97

Agree0 Disagree0

He had one sort of bad year and you want him out, he is just lacking confidence which ain't a surprise when people like you knock him. We need to get behind these players!!! seen arshavin play since we loaned him out

Agree0 Disagree0

Ramsey is awful

Agree0 Disagree0

I think he needs to go out on loan to someone like Swansea (i know hes from Cardiff), who play good football so he can gain his confidence back and learn not to waste possession, i'm sure he'll be a top talent just needs some time. Plus the Swans could do with him with the likely loss of Sigurdsson

Agree0 Disagree0

Ramsey is good player just needs some confidence rosicay was far worse for the last 2 years and look at him now confidence and form returned looks like the player we thought we signed.

Agree0 Disagree0

P!$$ off you lot and go support chelsea.

Galway Gonner.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ramsey is not awful. He has the talent to be a class player but because of clowns like u he has no confidence. This Ramsey hate for no reason has got to stop!

Agree0 Disagree0

Stupid post really.
squlliaci is awful, chamakh is awful eboue was awful etc
but this was his first full season back from injury and people want him out, total nuts.
we have far far worse culprits than aaron to move on and he's got time on his side, let him be and worry about the likes of diaby who is royally mugging off the club week after week year after years

Agree0 Disagree0

Instead of criticising the lad show him some support, he's had to come back from a horrific injury and could do with people getting behind him so he can gain his confidence back.

Agree0 Disagree0

Id consider a swap for heskey

Agree0 Disagree0

I would take Ramsey over Song and Diaby anyday.

Luke

Agree0 Disagree0

Good footballer,got to work hard on acceleration,onepaced,wenger played him too much last year,but wenger seems to like him,so i better shut up.

Agree0 Disagree0

Im welsh so you can imagine how much i support ramsey so how can u say sell him
he just had his leg shattered and your expecting him to be world class
wtf is wrong with some of you
itll take him maybe another season but after that watch this space

Hi, this is my first time posting, I have just had an extensive chat with an old friend who works as an accountant at Arsenal (very reliable source). For anyone who understands accountancy he often works on calculating the amortization of players contracts/fees in the budget going forward this therefore gives him some insight on potential signings. This is what he has told me tonight.

A lot of contact has been made regarding Affelay at Barca, he seems to be the number 1 traget in the CAM role. A bid for Gotze was made in January (Doesnt know how much) but this was rejected and we refused to bid any higher. No contact has been made since. The other player potentially is Lewis Holtby, we made an enquiry a few months back regarding a deal involving Bendtner going the other way which was rejected however we are still interested. Werder Bremen and Dortumd have both bid for Bendtner but rejected as it was less than £6million (arsenals valuation). An agreement is in place to re-open talks after the euros however (Very likely this will depend on his performace at the euros).

In terms of Striker he has no idea on RVP, figures hes been asked to work with are him staying at 175k a week, so he believes thats whats on the table. Giroud is very likely! it wont however involve a deal with chamack going the other way, never been discussed with Montpellier. The trasfer fee hasnt been arranged but they seem convinced hell sign for between 60-65k a week regardless of RVP staying and a fee involving anything up to 14million looks likely.

M'villa seems strange even inside the club, Rennes have accepted 20Mil Euros but its the player who has been stalling. Any contract calculations have been made with the strict condition that Diaby leaves in the summer. My source has no idea on this capoue bloke or any other CDM for that matter. And Song leaving hasnt been mentioned either.

Hoilett remains very possible but this seems to be dependant on a club taking Miyachi on loan (Southampton have had conversations) and his wage demands, as a potential second string player it looks like conversation involve a 35-40k a week deal but this hasnt been agreed and it seems like he has holding out for offers from abroad. Compensation will be 2.5-3 million, this is pretty much set by some calculation they use for compensation payments and will be payabale by any club getting him, although its apperently slightly less if he goes abroad.

Moving on to CB. Djorou has been given permission to leave however no club has come in for him as yet. He is on a fairly low wage which means potential replacements are limited. Vertonghen was a possability but Arsenals and Ajaxs valuation differed so much this wasnt taken any further. M'biwa looks the most likely at the moment with a fee likely to be in the region of £8mil on a four year deal. Contract wise it looks as if theres little extra on top of Djorous current wages so 35-40k max. Kyle Bartley is someone who may make the step up to the first team if a cheap replacement can not be found.

LB looks like its more important than we thought, no names known but it definitely looks like a backup LB will be brought in. RB position looks quiet, no names heard and very little work done regarding this other than Jenkinson going on loan, this was done as a season long loan with 0-20% wages, which apperently suggests a championship or lower league club (this was a couple of months ago).

GK is another quiet area, Fabianski has been told he can leave IF a club comes in for him, same with Mannone. Talks of Gordon seem well wide of the mark! An 'experienced keeper to challenge sir Chez' is also out of the pictutre. Butland is the only name that hes heard and this is depenmdant on LF AND VM leaving and was discussed way before he England call up.

Other than that Bordeux havent made contact with Arsenal regarding Chamack although he has made it clear this is his preffered destination. Zenit seem keen on keeping Arshavin and looks like differences on the fee will be sorted. Ramsey leaving has not been contemplated (on loan or permanantly), he does have contact with a union for sports pyschology though but this seems like its a formality due to the late Gary Speed and nothing more. Doumbia seems like utter tabloid garbage, never been mentioned in an Arsenal shirt same as Lewandowski.

I appreciate its not a lot of information at this stage in the season, but its just what I have been told. Im sure a lot of fans are the same as me and do not believe for 1 second that we have 3/4 deals already tied up.

Ill post again as soon as im aware of any information but be warned its not going to be the glamarous posts that ive read on here before, transfer dealings seem a lot more complicated then I thought!

Believable11 Unbelievable14

Man some people have really time, lol. As soon he said Hoilett I knew he talked b****cks. Hoilett is heading to Gladbach in Germany!! Affelay staying at barca!

Agree0 Disagree0

Thank you for some realistic comments/evaluations. much appreciated..

Agree0 Disagree0

Bulls**t for numerous reasons ... Firstly m'biwa like younes belhanda has stated that he will stay at montpellier til next season at least so they can play champions league football with their home club a 'dream' of both of theirs. Secondly Hoilett is in Germany hammering out a deal to sign for borussia monchenglabach. Thirdly Rennes released a statement recently saying 2 major European clubs had made just enquiries on m'vila . The Gotze bid was actually in August and was about 25 million plus add ons. Honestly i dont know why you bother put up nonsense ...if your friend was an accountant at Arsenal surely hed only be working on one deal not them all?

Agree0 Disagree0

Actually, Mbiwa only has a year left on his contract, so unless he signs an extension, it is very likely that he will be leaving this summer.

Agree0 Disagree0

If true - fair play for sharing. If not you are possibly the saddest person on the face of the earth!

Agree0 Disagree0

Belhanda is moroccan so how is Montpelier a in France his home club come on think about it {Ed002's Note - He was French born and must have been at Montpellier for 10 years.}

Agree0 Disagree0

It was the 175k a week that confirmed it as nonsense to me. We could offer 10 million a week and he will still leave

Paul - Rochester

Agree0 Disagree0

^^^
Mertesacker said he was staying at werder...two days later he had is medical for arsenal.
1732

Agree0 Disagree0

...Having said that, This does sound a bit facetious you may be right however the the output in the media is opposite to yours.
1732

Agree0 Disagree0

Thought I would get a lot of comments like this. I made it pretty clear that none of these deals were done and have no knowledge on what other clubs are doing with players we are looking at. When a player his signed his transfer fee, signing on fee, agent fee and non conditional add ons are amortized (split) over the length of his contract on the income statement. Therefore a team will look at the cost over the 4/5 years going forward this is where the information has come from. Please just take this for what it is, they're not done deals but the figures that are involved in discussions with our targets, given the source of the information I have no idea on what other clubs are doing

J

Agree0 Disagree0

Arsenal are still a joke!wenger you need a gaolkeeper !!! Guys I believe this guy am posting this today 12th and the olivier girou striker deal is on the news , for the rb position I think we have kocielneh and even song its just that wenger isn't as creative as farguson because even last with arsenal team farguson could have won the league so is to LB position vamalan can fill in for the midfield I expect us spend 20m strootmahn and he is Ideal for us than m'vila we've got song, forward I think with podolski adding to RVP and bendtnar theo , alex oxlade, javinio even podolski can play wide this olivier guy aswell wenger get ceaser from inter and strooman or fellani!
