Hi Ed002, Are Arsenal interested in Joshua Zirkzee from Bologna?
Any insights would be helpful!

Cheers!

{Ed002's Note - Joshua Zirkzee (S) Manchester United had a third-party scout watch him in a game against Roma in December. Milan has declared an interest knowing Giroud is coming to the end of his contract buyt don't know if Zirkee will match his goal tally. Bayern Munich have an option to buy the player back but will likely not be interested in following up on it.}

Apparently arsenal are in serious talks with Everton over onana,

I read this too Dublin. Whilst I like Onana, I would prefer someone who can put a simple ball in the back of the net.

08 Jan 2024 20:55:10
Maybe we're after both Onana and a striker? The Onana links make sense, Partey being missing all season has been a big blow.

I wonder whether we're after an older, less fancied striker who can still score to plug the gaps, then going big in the summer.

09 Jan 2024 11:33:13
i read Onana is in talks with Utd.

10 Jan 2024 09:03:47
Wire, I agree. on reflection, and FFP notwithstanding, that would be the perfect outcome. It's increasingly sounding like we are pursuing Onana.

Money can be the only reason to go to United, they look far behind us in the quest for silverware and have no obvious plan to rectify it.

Best, HB.

Good Morning Ed,

Do you know if Arsenal have any loan targets that we may be looking at in January?

Appreciate the club have their preffered options and would expect them in the summer but we have to address the goalscoring issue now, not when the season is over.

Thank you as always.

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of Arsenal looking to take a striker on loan.}

Thank you Ed.

Do you know if there is any significant interest from clubs to buy players and if so, who we could potentially see leave in January?

Thank you.

{Ed002's Note - Cedric Soares and Eddie Nketiah perhaps.}

08 Jan 2024 13:07:38
Interesting with Eddie. We can't sell without replacement so whilst I wouldn't be against him leaving, we need to ensure we have a replacement all but sealed.

Thanks Ed, appreciate it.

{Ed002's Note - Perhaps Khayon Edwards could be given a chance? January is a difficult time to buy and moving for Toney would draw a huge premium.}

08 Jan 2024 13:40:55
Completely understand that Ed, i'm not saying it has to be Toney as much as I would like us to sign him. It's just that nothing suggests Arteta would give Edwards a chance, especially when we are in the siutation we are in now. It's a lot to ask of a kid who's never played in the PL.

{Ed002's Note - Of course, Arsenal have other targets as well.}

08 Jan 2024 13:58:29
Is Victor Boniface one of those targets sir? I have seen his name mooted around reports.

I know you prefer not to delve into FFP conversations but are we likely to be pulled up FFP do you know? I see that clubs will know by Jan 14th supposedly. Bearing in mind we never make good revenue from player sales it wouldn't surprise me if we were, having spent a fortune.

{Ed002's Note - Victor Boniface (S) Juventus have Bonface as a first choice Vlahovic replacement if needed. Barcelona want him to replace Lewandowski. Probably first choice for Napoli to replace Osimhen. Arsenal have sent scouts. Bayer Leverkusen would seek a huge profit and would not be open to selling mid-season. Player wants a move t Spain.

I don't expect Arsenal to have any serious issue but players do need to move on.}

08 Jan 2024 15:09:25
Excllent, thank you Ed 👍🏻 enjoy the rest of your day.

08 Jan 2024 20:56:36
Nice one, thanks Ed002.

I like what little I've seen of Edwards but have found it a little strange that after giving Nwaneri his debut, Arteta promptly shut the door on youth making appearances!

06 Jan 2024 14:32:34
Good afternoon Ed’s and members hope you all had a great new year, ed002 I’ve heard that we are interested in kadioglu from turkey and hato of Ajax, do you know of anything, thank you Ed for your previous answers to my questions.

{Ed002's Note - Ferdi Kadıoğlu (LB/RB/RW) Versatile player who has done well for Fenerbahce and has attracted the attention of Arsenal, Newcastle and Napoli.
Jorrel Hato (LB/CB) Kiddie who is well thought of but Ajax are concerned that clubs from England, including Brighton and Arsenal, and Spain have been speaking with his agent about the future of the kid. They have not made any complaint to UEFA just yet but will if it persists during January. One to watch for the future but cannot move to England at this time, but Arsenal will look to a future transfer and speak with Ajax.}

Thanks Ed very appreciated.

04 Jan 2024 08:53:51
Hello Ed002, A happy new year to you mate. I wanted to ask you about our potential targets for January in the attacking positions. Wide players (Neto, Nico Williams) or Strikers (Toney, Vlahovic) - Which position and players are we prioritizing?

Also, How much of this is dependent on the sales of Eddie, Smith Rowe, and Ramsdale as you mentioned?

Thanks as always for your insights.
Cheers.

{Ed002's Note - I would not expect anything significant in the winter. Neto may be possible, you can forget Williams.

Dusan Vlahovic (S) Only joined in January 2022 but financial issues that Juventus now have and goalscoring problems will determine that he is sold in the summer – but they will hold out for €70M. Regardless of his loss of form, there will be a lot of interest if he is and his agent has approached Manchester United, Chelsea and PSG. Real Madrid are also keen but, like Chelsea, have preferred targets. Chelsea were open to an exchange of players last summer but right now there is no push as his wage demands are seen as excessive and they will look to other targets first. PSG have him as a possible Mbappe replacement - but not first choice - but don't lose sight of them. As a wildcard, Atletico Madrid or Arsenal may rekindle interest but would likely want to include players in any deal. Juventus have already drawn up a list of potential replacements and are working on those even though he has signed a new contract. A move seems unlikely in January.
Ivan Toney (S) Brentford do not want to sell but are aware Toney may look to move up a step and will reluctantly look to perhaps £70M as a sale price in the summer but will price him far higher to try to avoid a January sale. Newcastle - if they can sell their project to him given - offer the chance of a return to the club who previously could find no use for him in the three years he was there. Arsenal, Leeds, Manchester United, Spurs, Chelsea and West Ham have all sent scouts on more than one occasion to watch him prior to his ban. Arsenal and Chelsea may well start talks ahead of January, but Chelsea have preferred options meaning Arsenal are likely best placed to complete a transfer but Brentford will want to wait until the summer. A wildcard might be Spurs.

Arsenal may look to a DM and a CB in January - possibly a S.}

Thanks for your reply Ed002. Great insight. Interesting that Neto is possible. Would it mean one (or more) of Smith-Rowe, Eddie and Nelson moving on? Who are showing interest in these players?

{Ed002's Note - Books need to be balanced and players will be leaving. Neto would need to prove his fitness so the summer is a more likely time for a move.}

07 Jan 2024 01:16:25
Ed, who would you rather Arsenal push for out of Toney or Vlahovic seeing as they could each cost a similar fee or do you have another forward in mind you’d like arsenal to go for?

{Ed002's Note - I doubt either are available this month, in part because their preferred replacements will not be available this month so there would need to be a huge financial premium to pay.}

Edu looking at a loan for Benzema as a short term striker solution that suits all parties. Benzema is in Europe at moment talking to interested parties.

Well it lasted a year without hearing Benzema, wonder if Higuian is on the list as well 😂.

I started this rumour over 10 years ago

Looks like we have a copy cat killer on the loose.

03 Jan 2024 11:17:51
Malaga you’ve started every rumour every year and like a clock you’ll eventually be correct.

04 Jan 2024 17:32:02
I remember malaga posting the most ridiculous rumours every window. Also, i think this name is the oldest account on the site maybe g62 and dagenham.
Over 10 years, jeez that takes me back.

Hi OCB mate, speaking of 10 years ago, that was the season of the Liverpool and Arsenal fans mutual love in on this site 😊

We coincidentally met Liverpool in the FA cup that season too, I remember Liverpool fan Ken changing into his lucky pants at half time during that game 😊😊😊 some absolutely brilliant banter took place that season with Dags Jenny Taylor and Ken amongst many msnh others. Happy days, hey 👍.

04 Jan 2024 20:38:51
Ocb 2010 I joined I think.

04 Jan 2024 20:57:41
Yes Mark but you have only genuinely been with it and us since 2017 😊😊😊😊😊.

04 Jan 2024 21:50:04
I know John

The aliens decided it was time to go home.

09 Jan 2024 13:26:04
lol gunner62 I remember that and Ken and his lucky pants 😂😂😂

Was that really so long ago, have I really been on this site for so long! The Gunners I remember the longest is yourself and Dagenham as you both posted on the Liverpool page on occasion.

Good morning Ed I’ve seen today that arsenal are looking at defence in the window and that de ligt is our main target, is there any truth to this, thank you Ed for all your good work this year.

{Ed002's Note - Arsenal have bMatthijs de Ligt (CB) Player now happier with Tuchel as coach and will likely stay where he is, as long as he gets the playing time he desires. I am not aware of any approach to Bayern Munich by Arsenal although they have been looking at CBs and Bayern have no interest in selling although they are persisting in chasing another CB themselves.}

Hi Ed’s hope you all have a great Christmas and new year same goes for all the members also, edoo2 do you know if we have an interest in Everton’s onana thanks.

{Ed002's Note - Amadou Onana (DM/CB/CM) Only moved to Everton in 2022 and they are not looking to sell him. Arsenal and West Ham interest has moved on. Newcastle spoke with Everton in the summer but have now identified another player as their primary DM/CM target. Manchester United had him a long way down their list of targets but failed to sign preferred options in the summer and he may still be of interest.}

Hi Ed002,

Are Arsenal looking at Jorrel Hato from Ajax? Cheers.

{Ed002's Note - Jorrel Hato (LB/CB) Kiddie who is well thought of but Ajax are concerned that clubs from England, including Brighton and Arsenal, and Spain have been speaking with his agent about the future of the kid. 27 Dec 2023 12:25:24
Thanks for this - please can you explain why he can’t move to England at this time? Strong rumours this morning that we are pushing for him in January!

{Ed002's Note - He is not old enough.}

27 Dec 2023 13:16:24
Ah fair enough. I thought the home office relaxed rules on that rule to make it easier to sign top young foreign talent.

{Ed002's Note - No, the UK opted to leave the European Union.}

14 Dec 2023 17:28:25
Dia dhuit Ed002 do you know if we have any interest in leonardo of santos, thank you very much.

{Ed002's Note - Marcos Leonardo (AM/F) With the books balanced after the sale of Deivid Washington and Angelo Gabriel Santos wish to keep hold of Leonardo. West Ham had an offer rejected in January and Roma are pushing hard to secure a deal now for this coming January. He was discussed with Chelsea who are now comfortable with Washington. Manchester United and Arsenal attended the U23 World Cup and have both declared an interest, as have Lazio.}

13 Dec 2023 17:06:57
Hi ed, any truth Arsenal will make the loan deal of Raya into a permanent deal in January and offer Brentford a loan with obligation to buy in January?

{Ed002's Note - I don’t understand the question.}

14 Dec 2023 07:55:42
Sorry mate worded it wrong. Is there any truth Arsenal will make the loan deal for Raya permanent in January and make an offer to sign Toney on a loan with obligation to buy in January? (Because you can’t loan two players at the same time from one club)

{Ed002's Note - What happens with Raya could be driven by Ramsdale leaving in January.

Ivan Toney (S) Brentford do not want to sell but are aware Toney may look to move up a step and will reluctantly look to perhaps £70M as a sale price in the summer but will price him far higher to try to avoid a January sale.
