Hello Ed love the site,, been coming on here for ages but never posted before I know u get asked the same question a lot so apologise if I do the same but with players like Dybala moving and Martinez prob going Italy it leaves only Higuain imo out of all the realistic targets that could come in and improve us massively and take us to another level... Do we have any serious interest in him?

{Ed001's Note - from what I have been told tonight, no.}

Oh wow. Arsenal are just wow. We are not winning the league with giroud it's as simple as that. Please tell me we are in for cavani, negredo, Ibrahimovic, benzema. Just please say a striker that we are getting, or one we have serious interest in. And please sorry to ask but update on Petr cech or Casillas? So many questions, just annoyed with arsenal sorry mate.

{Ed025's Note - a striker is the priority apex, forget all the other positions mate, a striker has to be No 1 for me mate..

I disagree that Higuain would improve us massively. As for Negredo, he is worse than what we currently have, and Ibrahimovic, well that's just silly talk. Cavani is washed up, so that leaves Benzema. He's the only one that really improves us out of those guys imo. What I'm saying is there is no point just signing another striker for the sake of it. If they are not absolute top quality then they won't improve us, because like him or not, Giroud's goalscoring record is very good, and people seem to be forgetting how many goals Theo brings when he is fit.

Agree. There is enough quality cover elsewhere. Any player coming in has to be better than what we already have. We just need a clinical striker who can be relied upon to knick a goal in tight games. Giroud is not that type of player. A name rarely mentioned is Tevez. Proven goalscorer. Had a great season last year. Might be worth a risk. Only downside is that it means height is still an issue in the team.

I find myself agreeing with almost everything you've been saying of late, Ubistonk. However, Cavani is not washed up. He's played out of position in favour of Zlatan. That's got to mess with his form, especially considering he's not really the type of striker to slot well on the wing, like a Suarez or an Aguero. Imagine Giroud or Van Pursestrings on a wing? Put him where he's best and watch him find the form that made PSG pay so much for him to begin with.

Fully appreciate your point about him playing out of position. But if he's that good, why hasn't he been able to displace Ibra? Because PSG paid all that money for him doesn't make him a great player. After all, remember what they paid for David Luiz? Mourinho still wakes up in fits of laughter from dreaming about that one.
