I don’t see it.
I think he’s lacking aggression in his game to influence at the highest level and it’s a reason he hasn’t caught Ancelottis eye at a time when Madrid are wanting to keep the best they have as they are not in a position to spend.
I think it’s lazy by Arteta and Edu if we do indeed make the signing and I think it’s a massive risk at all round.

Another vanilla player who adds very little and clearly easy for Arteta to manage - him and White don’t cut it for a window that should be addressing issues

White - needs a commanding CD next to him
No change in GK or RB which required changes
CDM - no improvement without Bissouma
Creativity and goals - no real improvement in fact may be worse with Willock going
Cover for left back ✅

In all a crappy window as haven’t moved players on while we are stuck with Granit, Laca, Willian and pea who don’t want to be here and Arteta can manage

Seriously poor window despite board spending big on an area that wasn’t required and may create a new problem.

No doubt help is needed in many areas and I can't say tbat I wasn't frustrated with Odegaard many times last year. But he did show signs of settling in and he had a couple of very good games, that if repeatable, would slot him in with Tierney, Saka, and, hopefully, Smith Rowe and White as players worth building around.

If nothing else, we get a player to rotate through the front that maybe keeps Willian off the pitch. If nothing else, Kia doesn't weasel Coutinho in on deadline day and set us back another five years.

Odegaard is described by some managers and pundits as the perfect professional. He has an excellent attitude, can't fault his work rate, great vision and range of passing, is versatile and is still only 22. He's exactly the signing we need and if other players around him were more clinical, everyone would of been screaming to make the deal permanent. I'm happy with the Odegaard signing especially if it means we don't now spend silly money on primadonnas like Maddison.

I don’t get what people have seen in Odegaard to be happy with this signing. All he did was push ESR out of position because MA has a man crush on him. Slows the game down just as much a Granite does. No improvement in what we already had in our very own gunner Joe Willock, Joe’s better in my opinion.
So we waste £50m on White (who we didn’t need) and waste £30m on MO (who’s no improvement in what we had) we can’t even shift out players that we don’t want n who don’t want to be here!
What a shambles of a window this has been.
Edu, Arteta and anyone else that has a say in transfers are an absolute joke! Get them out ASAP!

Im sorry for the negative post but I don’t see any change from the mediocrity we’ve been watching for years, in fact we’re getting worse!

I love Arsenal to death but I’m seriously hating the way this club is being ruined by inept people who are punching well above there weight! ☹️.

Interesting Ed001, could you please share your opinion on Ødegaard? I've read frequently that you've got the best judgement of players amongst the Eds and I'd love to know what you think about Ødegaard and how you expect him to fare in the PL.

{Ed001's Note - I think he is a very average player, with a poor attitude (which is why he got booted straight back to the reserves on joining Madrid, even though his contract specified he had to be involved with the first team training a number of times a week) and doesn't work hard enough. He is not majorly lazy, just not giving his all, and that applies in training too, which is why he has failed to make the progress he should have. Let's be honest, if he still had the rep he did at 15, then there is no chance Arsenal would get his signing. The reason he is joining Arsenal is because he has underachieved massively and that is down to only one person - him. He doesn't do enough, on the pitch or the training ground, to improve.

He is one of those players that will end his career as unfulfilled potential, sadly. He doesn't have that quickness of thought that the top players have either.}

Let’s hope he realises his potential with us, rather him than some of the others we’ve been linked with, when he came to us last season he wasn’t 100% fit but showed sparks of some special talent. These young players which are hyped up at a very young age tend to let it go to their heads, I’m hoping he’s matured and takes the opportunity to make a name for his self.

I trust your judgement Ed001, thanks for your 2 cents. The optimist in me feels that if he gets a club who gives him the superstar value he thought he'd get in Madrid and a place where he thinks he can thrive, one can hope he can harness his potential. At 22, he's already has had a fairly long career and that could very well be his advantage in turning around his career in London. I feel he's technically gifted but I'll now ve reserved about my opinion on him knowing his attitude is an issue.

Don’t question my support for this club 337 just because of a rant mate, it obviously shows my passion for the club. I love The Arsenal I don’t just support them. I’m not a season ticket holder so I pay a lot of money to go watch Arsenal play every season.

Rant? It wasn’t actually aimed at your comments JE it was more at others, however now you’ve made it personal I’ll respond.
I’m actually sick of seeing people just constantly whinging and moaning with absolutely nothing positive to say about players who haven’t even signed yet. Do you think if they read these forums they would actually want to join now?
My point is you lot haven’t even given these young players a chance yet, but you know better than people that run a billion pound football club because you spent some pocket change on a season ticket and played FIFA a few times.
Just so you know my son is a professional footballer, he’s 18 and he is on his clubs page all the time, so maybe give these signings a chance before you lot write them off!

I will go missing now before I say something to some of you serial moaners that gets me banned, but I’ll be back to remind you all when any of our new signings show their potential and you lot change your tune 👀.
