I'm not going to post too much today for fear of inciting the delusional Wenger lovers who always seem to be out en masse to prove a point whenever the club bitterly let's us down. I just want to say the following:

Bender - Value approx £22-25m - Wenger bid 19m euros. Failed.
Maxime Gonalons - value approx £15m (as club captain etc) - Wenger bid £9m. Failed
Clement Grenier - the new Nasri, valued at at least £10m by Lyon, will be worth twice that at least in a year. We bid £6m. Or £15m for both Grenier and Gonalons if you like. Laughed off.
Fellaini - a player I am sure Wenger said was a £30m player around the jan window - wouldn't meet his £22m clause. Insane.
Gustavo - took us a week to agree to offer the 20m Euro/ £17.2m fee - asked the player to step down from Bayern to us whilst taking a PAY CUT whilst Wolfsburg offered to double his wages and slot him straight in.
Ashley Williams, the best CB in the league that would come to us - club captain, Wales captain, very experienced, top CB, value approx £10-15m - we've offered £6m?

I can't imagine how awkward it is between Wenger and Gazidis today. And people STILL think Wenger is the man for the job? I think his delusions of grandeur are ruining his own legacy, and our future.

If we don't finish top 4, we're going to have to pay well over the odds for the players we are currently able to sign fairly easily in order to get them to join. This was the summer we were meant to bring in 3 or 4 world class stars so that in January or next summer players are falling over themselves to get to us.

I have to say, apart from being testicularly-absent, Gazidis has done a massive job improving our commercial revenues off the back of sod all success on the pitch. He can stay in my book. He's not the lying sod I once had him down as being. The rest can go. Our ageing board, deluded manager and absent majority shareholder. This is not how you run Arsenal. See you guys tomorrow for the game.

Chill out mate. You'll do yourself a mischief with all that unnecessary worry.

Agreed this transfer policy is terrible. i'm furious about bender. he's probably our 1st choice dm target. would be a starter for us. we bid 19m (which I think was a reasonable start). and then nothing. we couldn't raise our offer for a player who would be instrumental for us just to get that man. would it have been so bad if we came back with a 22m bid? or 25m? it's 6m difference and we weren't willing to make the deal happen with our 70m+ kitty. that's a disgrace. luckily for us bender is still there. maybe wenger surprises us as the deadline comes closer.
