BG its quite simple top clubs are measured by titles and consistency, not because of one season wonders, we have more titles than chelsea and mancity so we are better, here is my list not in any particular order.

1. Bayern
2. Real Madrid
3. Barca.
4. Manutd
5. Juventus.
6. Here is where we come in, all teams like Arsenal, City, Chelsea, Liverpool.

I wouldn't even count teams like PSG and BR and ATM, seriously how big are thier stadiums and how many titles have they won? We may not have won anything for 10 years but it took city as well 50 odd years to win thier title, suddenly they are a top club? They got literally outplayed by barca the other day how can u even cateogrize them better than us when thier progression is the same as ours in Europe.

{Ed001's Note - so where do Everton and Torino come in? Both Milan teams? What about Celtic? They have won lots of titles and are consistent challengers, at the very least.}

Surely its what youve done in the last 3-5 years that decides your current ranking, top 4 in England top 16 in Europe and as for the world? Who knows probably top 20 if were lucky.
To me that's cold reality apposed to hanging on to what ever we can to paint us better than we currently are

We are now the 8th richest club in World football and from here on in have the financial firepower to compete in both the Premier League and the Champions League.

The next few years will better determine how we stack up against the likes of City, Madrid, Bayern, Barca, Chelsea and the like.

That depends on our owners and our manager, who ever the latter may be, their collective want to compete and their ability to compete.

Derby I know your question was to Red but regardless of whether we do or don't he's going to see out the two remaining years so we may as well accept that.
He should have gone last season but didn't and at least by bringing in Le Coq he's responding to our problems at last so there's real how he might be open to doing what's really needs in the summer

Everton consistent challengers, that seems odd, milan are definetly up there, we do not need to count teams like rovers who don't play in the league itself. Milan i agree with eds but the rest really are the better than Arsenal? How on earth people can count city, chelsea and the funniest of that was Dortmund, ATM, and now PSG? Ridicolous, and say i live in fantasy land, while some live in the Moaner Land.

Basically you are just a deluded biased fan altering the standard to suit your delusions. Arsenal are not a top 6 or 7 clubs by anyone else's standards. You are in total and utter fantasy land if you think a 4th place team in England is anywhere near the top 6 or 7 worldwide.

This whole thread is just an embarrassment. Especially embarrassing that you put Arsenal above Chelsea and Man City! Have you actually seen any football in the last ten years, or is your head too far up Arsene's background to see the league tables?

You might want to see what PSG, Atleti etc are doing, which isn't a 4th place embarrassment year on year. I can't see Atleti celebrating the Champions League qualification trophy, they would be too disappointed at not winning La Liga to celebrate. Sad that Arsenal have fallen so far as to think 4th place is worthy of a party.}

I agree as well there is no point in discussing wenger carrying on are not we are with him for another 2 years, so better we support him, than brag on for another 2 years. And the fans seriously need to wake up, its sometimes because of the fans we loose games.

I agree Arsenal are nowhere near a top 6 or 7 european team and to say we are because we have won more titles than chelsea or city is deluded.
On that basis as the ed says Celtic should be top two aswell as rangers because of the trophies they have won!! Can we honestly say rangers are a top european side??
Also on that analysis Liverpool would be around top 3 in world football with all those leagues and european cups.

But hay if living in the past is what makes people happy go for it......

because i for one am interested in the here and now and we ain't anywhere near top 20 at the moment!!!

Gunner if le coq starts for us next season I will cry. He's done good but for me overall I'd happily cash in if two big MIDs come in. Sorry if that's harsh on him
