I have been following our recent games with interest. We are overachieving by far. we have the worst squad in the top six and the fact that we are fighting for the top four, is testament to the good job emery is doing.

Our best defender is a 33 year old with an Achilles problem, our best midfielder is a 19 year old and our best winger is a player with no end product. That is a team that shouldn't be fighting for a top four, let alone a league title.

I am afraid the quality of the other top teams will show in the end and we will finish outside the top four.

Due to our spending policy, we won't then buy good players in the summer and we will be stuck in an endless cycle of finishing outside the top four because the other teams will outspend us.

It is time us fans, focus on the real problem:Stan kroenke. The man does not attend games at all, invests nothing in the team and never engages the fans.

I was watching the juventus-milan the other game and what i noticed was that the chairman, who is a member of the agnelli family, regularly attends matches. He is a billionaire but he is really interested in seeing his team succeed. We need to think of how we can rid that vermin, kroenke out of our club.

What exactly do you think the fan base can do to get Kroenke out? Also, why would he go? The one and only time he will consider a sale is if it stops being profitable. No point thinking about him leaving before that.

Kronk is a massive millstone but he's our millstone. We as fans are stuck with an owner who can't give two figs if we win or not. Not a lot we can do, he isn't wanted but all we can do is hope our model and our manager can do the best job and we at least become regularly competitive again. We won't be prem champs with him as an owner, ever, we all have to lower our expectations and then we won't be disappointed and maybe surprised. Its not being negative, its being realistic, he is not interested in the playing side of AFC, just the financial.

Emery took over a weak and unbalanced squad. His signings have been fairly decent, with Leno, Torreira, Sokratis and Guendouzi all performing well. LIchtsteiner was a stop-gap on a free and has been mediocre, whilst Suarez is a mystery.
I am sorry to see Ramsey depart, but unless we had paid ludicrously high wages we were bound to lose him. Whilst Emery's ability to sign players in the January window were hindered by the absurd wage structure he inherited.
This summer the following players will/ should depart: Cech, Ospina, Jenkinson, Mustafi, Chambers, Suarez, Elneny and Ramsey. I would also suggest selling Ozil, if possible, and neither of our LB's are particularly good.
We will need: a keeper, a RB, CB, RW and a striker. Ideally a LB as well.
As funds will be limited it might be worth using Martinez, who has had a good spell on loan at Reading, and giving Welbeck a new deal.
Kroenke can be accused of allowing to much freedom to Gazidis and Wenger, who left a complete mess. It will be interesting to see whether this summer he gives Emery a bit more freedom to spend. I believe the inability to make signings in January was due to complying with the rules relating to wage increases. This summer the wage bill willl be freed up, as the players moving out come off the books, to enable signings to come in, on more sensible wages. All in all, Emery has done a good job this season, turning round a declining team.

Good post punani mate, you have a point there but as steve mentioned there’s nothing the fan can do about it.
RG please mate you keep saying the same rubbish about how unbalanced the team Emery inherited if it is that bad why our home form is too good. Or whenever we win it’s Emery magic tactics and when we lose its the the team he inherited. You keep reposting about players will go and player will stay aren’t you tired of typing the same crap dude. Who wanted D Suarez that badly when we needed a CB, Wenger? Who played Elneny? Wenger? Move on man and stop blaming wenger when we lose. And non of the singing were Emery’s budddy. Also ramsey was happy to lower his price were arsenal agreed until Emery thought he’s not needed.

The only thing we can do as fans if we don't like the owner is boycott games, merchandise and anything arsenal, making it known it is because of our owner, whom we don't want. But that is very dangerous and obviously won't be happening. We are stuck with him and our club is unfortunately his now. I for one am extremely sad that we as a club ended up with such an owner as him but i have to lump it. Which deep down makes me sick. He isn't an arsenal fan and he isn't pasionate about arsenal. He is more interested in his shooting helpless animals for trophies and building his wealth.

I've heard plenty of fans from Arsenal and other clubs rubbish Chelsea and City's achievements as being bought not won or earned yet some of the same fans moan about Stan not spending likewise at Arsenal, we can't have it both ways.
I think the self sustaining model is workable sensible and something that will take lots of work and wise investments that increase in value rather than simple flitter away for nothing or end up costing us a fortune in wages and holds us back.
Self sustaining isn't the easy option but it's a very very workable one with the right people in charge of the to right jobs.

Gunner, i think this self sustaining tripe we are fed is crap. All teams in some mode are self sustaining, i have no problem with that. My problem is with having an owner who is conspicuous by his regular absence and not an arsenal supporter because he wants to win. His motives are not in the clubs interest but his own. His "sports empire" has little to do with sport. We are what we are now and while he is our owner, we will be just a team in his financial cash cow. The worse day in this great clubs history was when he walked through the door and we as fans will suffer those consequences.

Let's give the club without Arsene this summer, if Dick is suffering from what he inherited then why is not the same for the club?
Players who's resale value is 0 Or much less than we paid for them means our finances need to be reorganisation just like we keep hearing the squad does.
No club can spend as badly as we have and not be set back by it financially.

Gunner, the most important thing to kronk is the value of the club, its worth. To keep that he knows we don't have to win things to achieve that. The value of spuds, everton, west ham, liverpool, wolves, etc have all gone up and they haven't been winning recently. The prem at the moment is a cash cow. Out club has not been bought to win trophies, its been bought to make money out of the premier league money mountain.

But even after all what i think, i hope we can still generate a more competative club than we have been these last few years. The right staff can help that even within the boundaries that we have to work, wether that be Emery or whoever. I just don't think the owner will go that extra mile to help that, it will all be down to luck and skill of the playing staff, to squeeze it out of the resources.

I don't follow American sports but I know I kept hearing how Stans clubs in the states were all about money making not prize winning until this year?
None of us know Stan personally or his ambitions for Arsenal, much like Dick Stan needs the summer window before we get a real idea about where he's going without sticking to our own personal feelings towards him one way or the other.

Gunner, every decision made by kronk is not for the fans, not for winning trophies but for what's best for the kronk. He isn't interested in history or fans, our only hope is whoever we employ, works a minor miracle. He purchased shares for this club at a fraction of what they are worth today. Ok we won some FA cups but we have declined in europe and the league and our stock price has gone up. He will be exstatic at that. Are we?
