I'm not impressed his first season either, personally I would have taken 8th place and early exits in all cups as long as it was accompanied by clear and obvious improvement with our defence and where we ended the season looking difficult to beat again.
Last season is done and dusted now I only wish there was something solid we could take from it to make us all excited about what next season might bring.

I kind of agree, don't think emery has done anything catastrophically wrong but he hasn't done anything brilliant either. Much like a lot of our players over recent years. It has been clear where our weakness has been for ages. Don't tell me with the experience we have at the back the players can't defend they may be getting old or not world class but some of their performances as a unit have been awful. I think emerys philosophy of being a chameleon like team is probably right but mixed messages to a team who have been playing one way for seasons has done more harm than good. Sort the defence out then expand from that.

Let’s not waste our 40m budget on him - replace replace replace. Had enough - every manager in any job would be expected to address issues in their first year of being in a new job especially with experience. He’s got to go if we have any ambition. Let’s not repeat the past - learn from it.

Huge clear out - backroom, players, squad, boardroom etc etc press the nuclear button on accept a few years of EL and top 7 finishes but with a plan.

Personally I think it's far to easy and convenient to put all the blame on our squad and individuals, I'm not for one minute suggesting our current playing staff are good enough to win the league but they are much much better than poor organisation and tactics have made them look under Arsene and now continue to make them look under Emery.
If you need to replace a manager who leaves you right at the top I understand a club going for a like for like approach with his successor but when your previous manager left on such a low why look for another manager just like him? It makes little sense to me right now but maybe next season I will hopefully be eating our words.

I remmember Ed001 advocating for Nagelsmann. Now that would have been a revolutionary coach and i am pretty sure we would have seen different results this season. Instead, we settled for a europa league manager hence why we are only getting europa league football.
