Ed 02 is there any players we are looking to buy in January? We seem to lack creativity in the final third now without Ozil. Thanks.

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of Arsenal looking to add players in January. If Ozil leaves it will only be on loan - when he is sold the club will perhaps look to another. The club spent far more than intended in the summer and have taken a significant risk - along the lines of the risks which have come back to bite a number of Italian sides.}

Does that mean champions league or bust Ed?

{Ed002's Note - The expectation was that the summer splurge would guarantee, or pretty much guarantee, Champions League football. talking with an ex-Arsenal scout a month or so ago he could not understand why the club spent as much as they did on Pepe.}

Do we really need anymore players before getting the most out of what we already have?
I think our current squad is way more than good enough to finish above Spurs Chelsea United as it is, what's the point of spending more money if your not already getting the most our of what you already have?
I know fans like new players arriving but I'd have thought it's far more important to use what we have to its full potential rather than spending for spending sake.

I agree gunner I’m not sure emery has decided his first 11 yet.

I think virtually everyone would agree we already have the tools to the do the job of finishing top 4 Ja mate, once that's achieved then it's time to start thinking of how to improve and actually start looking at City and Liverpool.
We have all the ingredients and our chef has 30 games to prove he's capable producing a dish worthy of the ingredients, if not, in the words of Masterchef " sorry Mr Emery your time at Arsenal is over and you won't be coming on our journey with us "

Totally agree G62. We won't know how our team is really looking till December I don't think, but still, come May, the club will either be looking pretty, or looking for a new manager.

I'm enjoying this season so far, and I'll stay hopeful that we can have some success before it finishes, and have some memorable performances to look back on!

I'm extremely happy to let the season ride out Ned and if we finish top 4 it would be strange to part company with the manager that got us there, be anyone fan of Emery or not he should most definitely keep his job if he makes top 4 and equally he should most definitely lose his job if he should we fail to make top 4, because let's face it if not now with this United Chelsea Spurs when?
I'm most definitely not enjoying our performances against premier league opposition Ned mate, I think we've berm awful to watch and being totally overrun by this Watford side was extremely difficult viewing for me mate but to each his or her own and it's most definitely not for me to tell other people what they do or don't enjoy,
I am also really struggling with having to watch us go out each week in my opinion a man down before we even start while Torreira and others sit and watch but it's not all about what I enjoy or not that matters to Arsenal football club but top 4 is and if we all agree that is the line that decides Emerys future them I think we've all found common ground be us fans or not fans of our current manager.

Ed, difficult to argue with the question of the vast amounts spent on Pepe with limited spent in CDM and CB or just keep some money in the bank for the future.

We’ve got a great squad - just needs organising properly. should be top 3 with that squad.

I can’t see any January signings as we appear to have a well balanced squad and we have Saliba arriving next season.
As for Emery, the fans must be patient as he oversees integrates the signings made and enforcing his methods on the squad. I seem to recall that he signed a 2 year deal with the possibility of a 3rd.
Players often take a season to get used to the pace and physicality of the PL.
Last season we finished a place off a top four finish and we are currently in 3rd spot, having only lost a single league and cup match, against unbeaten CL winners Liverpool.
I had a feeling that fickle fans having turned against Wenger could easily do the same to Emery. Personally I am happy with him.

{Ed047's Note - I assume you’re ignoring the fact you also turned against Wenger. 🤷‍♂️

And there is the thing, no one has the right to tell someone that is perfectly happy with Emery they are not allowed to be so and equally no one has the right to tell those who are totally unhappy with Emery that they can't feel that way.
In the main for me watching Emerys Arsenal play isn't very entertaining or enjoyable experience and I spend a lot more time frustrated by what I see than thrilled but one man's meat is most definitely another man's poison.
In the end it will come down to top 4 finish or lack of it whether he's part of our future beyond this season but if the fans and players are still struggling to understand his methods tactics and philosophy come January he might not get that far even because absolutely no way are this pool of current Arsenal players anywhere near as bad as they look in most games right now.

Arsene’s time was over with us we all agree on that but We all wanted a better and improved option, but what amuses me is that we got someone who’s giving us what mr wenger did, although if wenger was in charge last season I bet he would’ve got us CL football due to the under performing rivals but hay ho emery did wonders in his first season.
Imo top 3 is were we should finish this season and nothing below as we are much better than our rival and better equipped.
The next few matches will tell a lot about our manager I think, because if bottle it again against these teams.

For me top 4 is a fair line to draw, yes you could argue we should be 3rd with our squad or argue the other way that 5th and winning the Europa is as good as 4th, both are attempts at adjusting the bar to either make tougher or easier to get over it.
Top 4 Emery gets a 3rd season and anything lower it's absolutely got to be bye di bye.

I want emery out even if we finish top3 because personally with utd spurs struggling, it’s a bit of a free ride for him, he isn’t good enough for arsenal, that the way I think I’m sure the regular moaning will have a go.
