Yes, I've had a beer or two, but.

I never wanted Wenger to go. I respected him and that's more important than trophies to me, but I was frustrated that he didn't change his approach to keep up with the times and therefore he had to leave. I'm just gutted he had to leave in such a negative way. More gutted by how he was treated.

As for the team now, I'd just like to see us win, but more important that we play to our potential with no idiots in the team or resorting to diving or cheating - just graft. I want to see the players I feel I can get behind doing well. Laca, Auba, Ozil, Nelson, martinelli, Kolasinac, torreira, guendouzi, chambers, Bellerin, Tierney, Leno. I like them all, all seem like decent guys, talented, and wish them well. Pepe I hope will prove himself a decent guy and even better, a good footballer. If we end up 12th or 4th, I don't care. I just hope they do arsenal and Wenger's legacy proud by giving a sh*t. Ouch. Hangover already setting in. COYG.

Appreciate the viewpoint, and agree thoroughly about regret at how he was treated, but in all honesty I'm sick of hearing about whether or not someone wanted Wenger to go. It's not just you, it's fans all over from here to the Guardian to AFTV trying to, I don't know, act holier than thou with the benefit of hindsight.

The reality is that he began to struggle with the demands of the fans, of the club's new structure, of the endless cash injections from other owners. Regardless of anyone's opinions at the time, it's in the past and our opinions are now all irrelevant. All we can do is move forward and try to behave towards our manager and players with a little bit of dignity - harder for Arsenal fans than most, although at least we treat them marginally better than Chelsea fans.
