With games coming up fast and furious, our squad will be pushed to the limit.
We have long term injuries to Chambers and Tierney. We may well be missing Bellerin, Torreira and will for certain be missing Aubameyang for 3 matches.
A couple of signings, loans or purchases, are vital.

If we don't acquire a decent centre half in this window, I fear my head may simply fall off.

Unless a miracle player falls into our lap, i just don't think this is the correct window to sort out our deficiencies. Based on our previous January signings, the total dud to good ratio is high, and i just don't see us signing any player who will be better than we already have. Perhaps its best to let Arteta squeeze the very most he can out of the squad, and let him go out and get the players he actually wants in the Summer, whilst also trying to rake in a bit of cash from some sales of unwanted deadwood. We will also be closer to the new sponsorship cash i believe? . I would rather we bought less, but quality, than lots of cheap possibles, untried, and just not good enoughs, as we are stuffed with them already.

Totally agree we shouldn't panic buy yet again Epping mate, few can question we did that last summer and 100 million later we are no stronger in depth or quality than we were at the end of last season.
72 million for Pepe and 25 million for the already long term injured Tierney now look bizarre choices on which to spend more than we had available.
We could definitely do with some premier league savy signings who are far more likely to find their feet fastest, I'm not against inexpensive bargain buys at all, what did Robertson cost Liverpool? Absolutely nothing wrong with spotting good talent where you can see how you can improve their game once you get them on the training field, in fact it's pretty imperative that we find and develope some bargain buys if we are to get back in the title frame.
Everyone talks about Alison and Van Dyke when taking about Klopp signings but they are matched equally with brilliant bargain buys too.
