Apparently prior to yesterday's game we were averaging Just 2.9 shots on target since Arteta arrived compared to 4.5 under Emery.
Find a poor stat and build a story around it why don't you, Martin Keowen! No mention of the reduction in shots against I notice from super pundit Keowen who which is funny because that was his favourite subject When Emery and Arsene were our manager.
Just out if interest i wonder why shots both on and off target weren't used in the stats? Maybe they didn't paint the desired picture as well and would have spoilt the side of the story Keowen was choosing to tell.
If you inherit the worse trained defence in Europe and decide to tackle the issue it shouldn't come as a huge shock to anyone if in doing so it means an initial drop in attacking power, the two would seem to go hand in hand during a transitional period I'd have thought.
Obviously there is a long way to go before Arteta can be called a success or failure and yes he does need to start winning some games after playing 7 and drawing 5 prior to yesterday's game, but let's not forget the one game we did lose was at home to Chelsea and only Artetta second in charge and it wasn't exactly an embarrassing defeat like we have known many times in the past.
I know we all want to see Arsenal playing exciting football but surely we also want to see us being difficult to beat again and competitive again too and in reality 8 games isn't exactly the longest time in football to put right 15 year old problem that's prevented us from competing with top level teams over a season.

Keown's struggling to stay relevant, never heard anything intelligent come out of that man's mouth in a decade of punditry. Give me Ian Wright any day, at least he calls it as he sees it.

Absolutely Wire mate, Wrighty might not always be right but the man wears his heart on his sleeve and whether speaking from the head or the heart says it as he himself sees it.
