I think it's going to be hard this coming season, Mr Abramavich seems to be splashing the cash again!

Sally, I know their spending, but I think Lampard will be sacked before the season over.

Big season for Frank Mark mate. Chelsea aren't renowned for their patience, last season they had the transfer ban which bought Frank some limited understanding but I'm sure they will be expecting more than a 3rd or 4th place limit on thier expectations this time round.
Don't see Ole getting away with simply nicking 4th again either.

Frank overachieved last year. So it didn't buy Frank time maybe it made roman have confidence in him.

For buying 2 players there’s Edu, for buying 100m worth there’s mastercar, for buying the league and distorting the transfer market and bucking the current economic trends - there’s Abramavich but for spending Billions, there’s Sheikh Mansour. Monsieur Priceless

Screw FFP - why buy an outfit if you can buy the entire shop.

#start the you know 💩 or bitter old SY replies

Go tell me it’s normal spending over the years.

I wounder many Wolves Sheffield United Norwich and Brighton fans thought we bought the fa cup with 200 mliion plus we spent on Pepe Tierney Auba and Laca not to mention others SY? :-)

Sy4. Think Chelsea net spend over past 5 years is less than ours.

{Ed018's Note - I think you might be right. I saw the numbers earlier today and now I can’t find them}

Also didn’t chelsea generate between 150-200m in sales last year plus however much they get this summer.

Those who can do and those who can't complain and cry foul play :-) .
Far more is achieved from spending a day looking in the mirror than spending a lifetime pointing fingers at others.

62 - glad you are back. So you don’t think City are on financial steroids? 1bn net spend over 10 years?
Times reported in Jan 2029 that Chelsea owe Abramovich 1.13bn

Seems pretty normal to me 😉

With that said - if money doesn’t buy success on a regular basis. Then you should not be able to work out when a certain Russian joined or the

Chelsea trophies crazy money hit City

Transfermarkt has Arsenal at -284m over the last 5 seasons. Chelsea is -127m. They get amazing amounts for rather poor quality players and sell their non-playing loanees reliably every season. I'd love to be wrong but don't think I am, we're just badly run.

You are probably right wire. We buy poorly and we sell poorly ( give players away) .

That combined with us selling our best players for 10 years to pay for the stadium really meant we had to spend to get back to equilibrium. With limited funds we get nervous, missed out on opportunities and as a result “panicked bought” but then to make matters worse we don’t recover funds like on Rambo to balance the books.

Sanchez, Rambo, Webeck all should have had a positive impact on those numbers to display the impact on the squad rather than our poor asset management

I’m not saying we haven’t spent -I’m just saying the two investors changed the history of both clubs with 1bn invested. They then started to win - consistently.

Only 6lb you've been well desaplinied SY mate I've gone from using a regular bathroom scales to having to use the local weighbridge :-) .
I can't change my life by moaing about how other people go about there's life's so I prefer to look at myself because basically it's the only thing I have any power over.

Same for Arsenal, we can complain and moan all we want about city's spending but ultimately like all other clubs it's what we do about our own business that really matters.

Those that can do and those that can't blame everyone else but themselves for thier own struggles, it's much easier than taking responsibility but ultimately doomed as a method of improvement.
