Am I alone in thinking it would be a total shame if we send Holding out on loan? I guess if it's strictly just a loan, with no option to buy, then I would just about be OK with that, but I think he was by far our best central defender, especially in the final few months, and is starting to mature nicely, and so to have to be shipped out, to make way for the new signings, seems very harsh. Especially when you consider we still have Mustafi or "Mr Lastminute. dotcom", who plays 3 poor years Before finally and magically showing signs of improvement just as his contract gets low, and David Luis, aka Coco the clown, who has single handedly cost us multiple games, and yet gets a new contract. I would imagine to sit down and be told your being shipped out whilst that total garbage is still at the club Would not be good for his confidence.

I like Holding a lot and think if we aim to play a back 3 this season, he should be kept. But we probably won't, and he absolutely needs to play every week right now. I think a loan is a great move, as he can come back next season ready to replace Luiz and/ or Mustafi.

If he goes out on loan he needs to go to a club that plays 3 at the back in my opinion because that's when he shines. It's all well and good getting people off the wage bill by loaning them but for thier development you need to pick and choose where they go, not do a repeat of sending Gnarby to West Bromw where he was like a fish out of water.

Totally agree epping. Barring a couple of mistakesx holding has been solid. I love how he keeps his head down and works hard. For me he's exactly what we want. I don't think it was a one off, but the fa Cup partnership with Per showed what he could do.

Wire is right though. With gabriel, luiz, saliba who are going to be first choice, plus others we probably can't shift this season, holding might have to go on loan for his sake though i'd prefer him to stay and play ahead of saliba tbh. I REALLY want us to keep him loan or not though.

And let's not forget, we bought him for £5m at the same time Man City got their £50m superstar CB John Stones! :)
