Not sure I get this Spuds deal over a 31 year old never-was.

We have just spent a fortune on our 31 year old, but he is proven to be the fulcrum of our side in terms of scoring. I have reservations about the amount of money spent on his re-signing but.

Spurs are reportedly paying a £20m loan fee for the year. That equals by my maths £400,000 per week.

They are also paying £250,000 per week of Mr Bale's market-defined wages of £650,000 per week, Real Madrid "funding" the rest.

Well, actually Spurs are. Six hundred and fifty thousand pounds per week. Nuts.

Not even sure he's that good any more is he?
That natural born-leader (see Amazon "All Or Nothing" (clue: Nothing!)

Harry Kane will be knocking on that door I think.
There may ne troubles ahead down the Lane.

Footballs' finances have gone to hell in a handcart and make no sense whatsoever.

Just sayin'.

Sound bitter to me mate, Bale is world class and would walk into any side In the league, yes the wages are ridiculous but that's what you get for top dollar, signed Regullion, bale on his way, top striker will be signed within 2 weeks and dybala is now heavily linked and now we might kick on or go pete tong, Bale, son, kane will be the best front 3 in the league.

How can anyone say bale is world class. He's not played for what 2 years? He COULD be, but massive risk imo.

Honestly Raver, I am not remotely bitter!
I just think it’s nuts financially. I would say as much if Arsenal were to consider spending this much on a 31 year old who has hardly played in two years.
I think the money we have spent on Aubameyang is pretty obscene - £55m over three years with no resale value - but comparatively - and I stress that- comparatively tgat now seems cheap considering Spurs are spending nearly £33m on ONE YEAR for Bale, a golfer.
That’s equivalent of £100m over three years, nearly twice as much as we have spaffed on PEA.

I just think both are huge risks, but PEA is proven at Premier League, Gareth plays off scratch.

By the way Raver, I enjoy your posts hugely, both on here and when I am feeling low and suicidal as I can do occasionally so I go to the spursrumours page to rediscover some sanity and perspective.

As the recovering alcoholic that I am - three and a half years now - I enjoy reading about your splendid lifestyle and reminisce! Keep up the raving!

Legend at spurs, Wales, and won everything at Madrid even scoring In 2 champions league finals and the Spanish cup final against Barcelona, he hasn't played for 2 years because of zidane terrible treatment.

Wrong there about the 20M fee. That was what was rumored as it was going to be permanent at first.
Today The Athletic reported it's a 1 year loan (As Bale has only 2 years left and RM have no pull to not loan - As no buyers)

Quote from Article --
All they would be required to cover is up to half of his wages. While £300,000 per week would be a big commitment — £100,000 a week more than they pay their current top earners, Tanguy Ndombele and Harry Kane — it is still only salary. If Tottenham pay that every week until the end of the season that would cost them just over £12 million. The total cost of the Bale deal, according to sources, is expected to be roughly £15 million for one season of football.

Hi Max sorry to hear you struggle sometimes mate, hope your ok right now mate.
Bale will win Spurs games they wouid have lost or drawn without him, my guess is he'll be worth 15 to 20+ extra points to them over a season. Kane is an excellent finisher but Bale will pick up balls in his own half and create something from nothing, he's a class act in my opinion.

Doesnt matter the reason why he hasn't played for 2 years. The fact is he hasn't. No one knows how he is going to be, he could be a world beater, but he could also be a massive flop.
