Anyone seen ozils post on social media? I really do wish we knew exactly what was going on and the whole situation was sorted. we can debate all day about ozil being lazy and the pros on cons of what he brings to the team. However this whole situation in my opinion is making the club look bad and disrespectful.

Poor old Mesut.

I must say, I’ll love to be in Ozil’s position.

Yeah must be hard getting paid all that money to not work!
He had opportunity to move on and if playing football was his main priority he would have taken a pay cut to move on, really honestly no sympathy from here. The sooner he goes the better it will be for team morale.

I am sure Mesut is wise enough to not give the club the ammunition or the loophole it's looking for not to pay him or deduct any of his wages for breach of contract.
The club are unhappy about a decision the club itself made 3 years ago and have been trying to pressurise Mesut into giving into the clubs change of thinking for the last 2 years.
I appluad Mesut for not giving into bully mentality of those running the club.

Hi been a while, Sanogo, browgun, growbun. Had a few profiles on here before keep loosing login.

Just have to pipe up about Ozil. And I’m a bit sick of how all but a few a cool on just bashing him, must be hard sat on 300k plus not having to do anything or the constant using him as a scape goat for shoddy play and tactics.

Anyone had the joy of watching him live? A different class and anyone who thinks him not been anywhere near the team is frankly stupid, anyone who thinks he’s sat at home been a sly little sod not wanting to play is also off their heads.

I don’t know what’s gone on! I know that there was the thing about China and he was criticised in the tabloids about how not to get into politics and I think it’s a no no in the premier league as well. But all of a sudden we can have politics in the game BLM, the constant C.V. nonsense, the constant brainwashing and indoctrination through sly media and the Prem at the moment, the fact our club has behaved in some unfamiliar ways shall we say (to be really generous ) .

This whole thing with Ozil is pathetic on the clubs behalf and a very aggressive and horrible way of dealing with their own doings . If it was happening in a factory or a building site everyone on site would scream blue murder. But who cares he earns so much money, it’s sad that Ozils morals has brought to the fore people’s petty jealousies.

It is a huge shame that Ozil isn’t in the squad never mind the starting 11. It’s crazy not to play him in my book especially now that we have a better defensive spine plus Partey. You would think the scene is set perfectly for him and let’s be honest we need that creativity. If I’m honest, I feel he has let us down at times but I blame the team set up more than him.
You are right - he’s such a joy to watch live. Unselfish running, positional sense, controlling the tempo of the game etc. I’m amazed that people cream themselves over Matteo mainly because he runs around with his heart on his sleeve but ultimately aimless running and to the detriment of the side yet they slag off Ozil.

Perhaps 350k per week plus a wedding means he cares less now, behaps he is a pain - who knows but most pictures I see of training he’s smiling and getting a sweat on. U fortunately, I don’t trust the club and I’m not sure Mikel is great at man management so I’m backing Ozil at present, that plus all his media activity suggests he still cares and wants to play. Players only have so many years - I don’t believe for a second he wants to accept his cheque just to sit in the stands. I don’t believe that.

I’ll duck now to avoids a few cheap shots as normal but for me I would rather have a starting 11 with Ozil especially with Gabriel, Saliba, Partey etc now in the side plus our front 3 than him not in the side. Play a decent CDM partnership - not Dani for gods sake. If we need a creative player - Dani or Willian or Ozil or Pepe or ESR?

Ozil first choice hands down, then ESR . Sorry.

Both sides have done wrong to each other if we are all being honest. Both parties obviously can’t come to a swift conclusion hence why he is being omitted from the squad. The fact is it’s happened, and we have to move on. No point picking sides here. The time to pick sides is at the end of the season, let’s see where we finish in the league. That will tell us if it was the right decision or not.

The thing is before lock down Ozil plays 10/ 10 games under Arteta but since the restart isn't anywhere near the match day 18 and is now officially excluded from the squad completely. This is obviously not a footballing decision but purely a club decision way above Artetas head because Arteta himself hasn't gone from thinking of Ozil as worth a place in his starting 11 in March but not worthy of a squad place first game back in July or since.
Arteta is simply following orders from the club.

Remember when Ozil walked off the pitch in the Europa league final? Or when he didn’t clap the fans after we got humiliated by Chelsea and Mertesacker went ballistic. Don’t forget things like this.

21 Oct 2020 20:41:25
So if we make top 4 it's ok for the club to victimise someone but if we finish 8th victimisation is wrong DG?
I genuinely can't see what Mesut has done wrong mate, the day it becomes wrong to speak out against human atrocities it will be a very sad day for the human race and no way is it wrong to refuse a pay cut without knowing where your money will be used first, who would donate to a charity that refused to say what thier intentions were for using your donation?
Personally I'd feel cheated if I was one of the players who took the voluntary pay cut only to see 55 employees loose their jobs anyway.

Ozils only crime against us is that he didn’t just win games for us like we expected.

62 - just like in his team selection. The boy needs to grow some 🥜 🥜 as he doesn’t have any. Another example if that’s the case of weak management from a Mikel. His job is on the pitch and he should demand he’s not handicapped by politics or ambitions hampered. Creates an excuse environment all over again.

Hi DG it was actually against City Mesut refused to be part of a team that surrendered lamely to the opposition then go and clap the fans as if all was fine, he was embarrassed and I was delighted to see his reaction that day rather than simply follow the Arsenal routine of walk on the pitch for 90 minutes then walk to the fans before taking another set of selfies in the changing room as usual.

I agree SY Mikel makes himself look like a weak yes man and you have to wonder if his summer promotion. from coach to manager wasn't a reward for being a company yes man.
The club have put him in a weak position that he's agreed to accept.

15.) 21 Oct 2020
21 Oct 2020 22:06:41
This is obviously not a footballing reason, and the club made a big mistake. as SY mentioned would you rather have dani or xhaka instead of ozil hell no.
And as for his reactions on those game that proves he hate to lose and he wasn't happy with the team proformance and that attitude you want in the team not lose and go have a laugh with your opponent.
I said before the club didn't want to lose their fan base in China and that's one of the biggest reason and come after that the wage reduction and I totally agree with g62, many player had their wages deducted so why on earth fire that much staff.
I think its a very disgraceful move form the club and we have a yes man manager now.

Your all acting like the guy is dying. You need to stop acting like Ozil is the Messiah. I don’t get all this sympathy. Plus, when he’s probably not playing well half of you would probably say he’s not good enough.

17.) 22 Oct 2020
22 Oct 2020 00:28:38
Well said DG 👏🏽

Truth is that none of us know what goes on behind the scenes, for example when we sold Sanchez to manure everyone went crazy, then it came out that he was disrupting the team morale and look where he is now

We can all guess why Ozil has been left out but the truth will only come out once he’s gone, I’ve heard it’s because he chooses to turn up to training wearing high heels, make up and a mini skirt! What man would get away with that in his workplace? No offence G62 I know you think it’s acceptable 😂.

18.) 22 Oct 2020
22 Oct 2020 03:57:19
DG No one is saying that he has been left out of pocket the guy has been paid ridiculous amount which arsenal offered. However just because he is paid a lot of money does not mean he is your slave and he has no free thought or freedom of speech. A person that has spoken out against what is internationally recognised as hate against muslims something he feels close to should be commended rather than vilified. Asking to get gurantees to what will happen with money that will be deducted from his wages is a no brainer offering to pay for the wages of the much loved gunnersauraus (seeeing as him not taking a wage cut which apparently let to the redundancy of so many at the club is comentable. I have been an arsenal fan for almost 40 years but the the way the club has recently been conducting itself has left me ashamed and contemplating giving up on them but a love for this long is hard to give up. May be its my age and moralls and ethics no longer hold value.

19.) 22 Oct 2020
22 Oct 2020 05:21:58
I'd love to see ozil play again that guy can unlock defences we are fools as we need a creative player and have one of the best in the world on our books but don't use him.

20.) 22 Oct 2020
22 Oct 2020 07:59:33
I will have you know Calum looks very fetching in heels 733 mate.

21.) 22 Oct 2020
22 Oct 2020 09:05:24
I’ve seen Ozil live on a few occasions for arsenal and was lucky enough to have tickets for real vs Barcelona a while back, he is lazy doesn’t track back losses the ball and then sulks like it’s not his fault, I remember the hype when he joined about his assist stats, and then one ex footballer who’s was on sky sports say, “how can he get an assist when he passes to Ronaldo and Ronaldo takes on 8 people and scores that’s not an assist, for me I’ve never rated Ozil when he plays it’s like we are down to ten men from kick off and the team has to work even harder.

22.) 22 Oct 2020
22 Oct 2020 13:09:24
WG if that is true and it’s taken the club 8 years to work that out after putting him on huge wages giving him loyalty bonuses the club is in serious trouble and that’s not down to Ozil.

23.) 23 Oct 2020
23 Oct 2020 02:32:13
And Ronaldo said:
"Yes, Mesut has made me better. If you have great players around you, your play becomes stronger, "
"Ozil is fantastic. He can read the game and knows when he needs to play the pass, when he should take a dribble - that's simply class.
"We have a really good connection and this is still getting better. I love to play with him, he is fantastic. "
"Mesut Özil made me the world’s best striker”
"The sale of Ozil is very bad news for me, "
"He was the player who best knew my moves in front of goal. I'm angry about Özil leaving. "

{Ed0666's Note - I’m pretty sure if Ozil was playing like the Ozil ronaldo was talking about he wouldn’t be ostracized at Arsenal.

I think there’s both political and proffesional reasons for Ozil’s ommision which is sad because I find it hard to believe that even a 30 year old Ozil couldn’t improve the Arsenal team. It’s an absolute joke of a situation in my opinion. To be fair I wouldn’t give up 350k a week in the knowledge that in a few months I will be able to play anywhere in the world on a free transfer. And let’s face it he won’t jeapordise a move by being injured. Win win for Mr Ozil, lose lose for Arsenal Football Club.
