After his performance against Leicester where does everyone stand on Lacazette? I would've bet my house on all of Auba, Martinelli, and Nketiah (who personally for me will never make it at Arsenal) to finish the chance that Tierney handed him on a plate.

Personally I'd be happy to ship him out - his build-up play has gotten worse, he commits unnecessary fouls and he has lost all sense of ruthlessness that a number 9 needs.

I'm sure we could get 20-25m or so for him in January. Maybe Lyon would be interested in bringing him back should Depay leave to Barca.

{Ed047's Note - we should have flogged him in the summer to help buy Aouar, he’s absolute pants and I’m sick of watching him winge, moan and fall over whilst contributing nothing.

Auba down the middle and whoever else down the wings.

Also agree on Nketiah.

Agree - personally I'd sell laca and nketiah and invest that money in Zaha, move Auba back to ST with Martinelli and Balogun as back-ups.

Obviously we need a create midfielder more than anything atm but in terms of reshuffling our forward options I would do the above.

{Ed047's Note - I would have spent the money on Aouar as the creative player.

Sorry but not a fan of Zaha, highlight reel player for me and we don’t need that.

Sorry guys have to disagree on Nketiah, he will score a lot of goals for us and for England, you can tell me I was right in a couple of years.

{Ed047's Note - well it will be a first! 😉🤣

Laca in the past = crap but offered glimpses that he might one day adapt and improve.
Laca now = even more crap and shows no glimpses that this will ever change.

Would swap him for Giroud in a heartbeat.

{Ed047's Note - with you mate he’s been dire and just getting worse.

Agree on Nketiah too. Don't think he is god enough for arsenal. balogun looks promising though. From the little I have seen of him, he looks promising.

Fair enough ed RE Zaha, however he's been on fire so far this season and wouldn't need any time to settle in to the league! Also he has the directness that our midfield/ attack lacks, only Pepe is really somewhat comparable for beating players.

And for those disagreeing with my original point on Nketiah, don't get me wrong I think he could be a good servant for the club as a squad player but I don't think he possesses the quality or elite mentality to lead the line for a team that should be challenging for top four, and I personally don't see him growing any more as a player. Martinelli on the other hand, I can't wait till he is match fit again. And I hope we give Balogun a chance as I fear he could do a Gnabry if we let him go.

{Ed047's Note - I guess compared to Pepe he’s a huge improvement CB and he has had a good start.

He’s just never done it consistently enough for me though. Definitely want to make sure Balogun stays.

Happy with - Saka. PEA. Willian or Martinelli. PEA. Willian

Happy with 4 4 2 with Martinelli and PEA up front.

Be tempted to try - 4 4 2 with Pepe and PEA as think Pepe can only be better thru middle

I’d keep Eddie but never play him in middle over PEA.

My concern with 4-4-2 is you get overran in the middle of the park - you are either forced to sit deep and counter or you effectively play 4 CMs, but this requires the team to have nailed the transition phase and full backs need to get forward at the right time in order to add width. It is something I found Barcelona to do effectively when Valverde first took charge of them though and it would be interesting to see a team try something similar in the premier league.

I’ve moved on to my favoured set up - 4 2 3 1

Play Tierney in natural position.
Two natural wingers - Saka and Willian
Creative person in middle - ESR
Play to PEAs strengths - up front with a licence to move like TH14. Sometimes left side and sometimes centre but not rigid like Arteta plays
Also pulls Laca out as he’s not a Giroud, DB10 or an Ian Wright
Play Saliba and Gabriel in middle of a back 4 and partner Partey with a mobile AMN. Both of these can defend, tackle and move the ball forward quickly.

Although - remember Pires Paddy Petit and Freddie - not sure we were ever over powered or played with 3 CMs. You need decent wingers. Not a 4 of Granit, Elneny, Partey and AMN.

P P P and F came up with goals SY, we haven’t got that in our current set up.
