The last 9 or 10 games have been like playing with 10 men because our captain has decided to give up playing and also happens to be our main goal scorer as well

It’s always been a problem when your club captain loses form as it’s hard to drop your skipper but unfortunately when he’s your top scorer and he’s not scoring goals he needs to be dropped, captain or not

I’ve not seen him shouting or talking to players once in the last few games so why is he captain? Because of his wages?

It’s becoming ridiculous that we are blaming the Ozil situation and edu being on the board for the problems when there are 11 more than capable highly paid footballers on that pitch

Do you think sir Alex or cloughie would have been bothered what was going on at board level when they managed? Not in a million years

Mikel is passionate and yes he is young but what I saw today was 9 players playing at 100% then auba and Willian were useless, the other 9 hardly put a foot wrong and managed to play them off the pitch for most of the game.

Agreed with you until I read the last paragraph. Aubaymeyangs movement is lazy and he’s allowing defenders to between him and the ball, watch the crosses, whichever side they come from he is positions himself at the back post. completely kopping out in relation to challenging in a meaningful way. Anyone who knows football knows you get between the central defenders or threaten the keeper with your presence. the winger or wife forward challenges the back post. He’s feeling sorry for himself and happy to have the manager take the flack and its pathetic. I don’t care if he’s relying on the woefully inept and negative Xhaka at times to start attacks, he could still be showing for the ball and scrapping for possession, he doesn’t even press it’s all token gesture.
As for the comment about 9 players giving 100%, I completely disagree.
Either you are right and they are bang average players with bang average mentalities or I’m right and the likes of Hector Bellerin, Granit Xhaka and Rob Holding are complete bluffers and repeat offenders who shirk responsibility.
Watch the goals again. Bellerin out of position AS USUAL, and Holding BACKPEDDLES to his own 18 yard box and then KOPS OUT by tracking a dummy run that was a secondary threat to Son streaming forward uncontested with the ball out of his feet and nobody closing down. what’s happening here is Holding is wanting someone else to step up here, in his mind he has no conviction to engage and either wants Son to miss his effort or for Leno to save, have some bloody conviction and challenge for the ball.
Second goal, Xhaka is brain dead, he must know his midfield partner is struggling, even tho an injured Partey was still 3 times the player Xhaka was that first half. He never gets that high to support our attack but opts to when we have NO COVER
But let’s not forget another lack of conviction and token gesture piece of play in this. Hector Bellerins ‘cross’ in the build up is so meek and non threatening, just like his on field personality, that it barely needs to be controlled by the Spurs defender to set up a counter attack. He’s one of the few ‘right backs’ in world football who can find himself so often in these positions and not make opposition defenders even stretch to defend. Again it’s a pure lack of conviction and intent, he’s HOPING it falls in front of someone by putting it in an area, he’s not looking to find anyone because he’s actually afraid and lacks the conviction to make a big decision. Even if he fizzes in a cross and it misses every one or goes out the far side it leaves them defending from deep. but a pass cross behind the attacker? Unforgiveable lack of quality and awareness.
And at this stage he can no longer be blamed. FIVE foul throws this season I’ve counted in live games. and they are only the ones he’s been called for he should have been blown yesterday before the red actually called it.
You wouldn’t see it in an under 8’s game.
Yet this guy starts every week for Arsenal FC.
Absolutely mind bending to me how people have diluted their own sense of what it should mean to play for and perform for Arsenal and this is now the problem. A fan base who don’t want to hurt sensitive players like Hectors feelings. absolutely infuriates me.
Look how well some of these are being payed, look at how they apply themselves on average and look at how they apply themselves in adversity, when true character is judged.
If Xhaka, Bellerin and Holding played at 100% then this club is positioned where it belongs.

100% shambles! Hector should not play again this season. i'd have AMN play until Jan, and either bring in a rb or leave Ainsley there until the summer. As for Xhaka said it before the premier league is just too quick for him, that's why he goes sideways or back wards constantly, watch him for Switzerland and he’s a decent deep laying playmaker because he gets the time to pick a 40 yard pass out. Ceballos is no better in the league. Partey when fit partnered with Elneny and bring Ozil in January, if not play either Willock or Smith Rowe. And Holding man, he was too concerned yesterday about being beaten by pace, he is just not quick enough, but again he was against 2 players running at him as Bellerin was out of position. Again. Even saying all this. this team should still be brushing aside the likes of Aston Villa and Wolves, even Leicester. Yet here we are. i'm not sure about Arteta I can’t work it out with him, I’m happy for him to carry on but improvement is definitely needed!
