Us blokes really do struggle to talk about what's really going on with our emotions and thoughts, we convince ourselves we are ok and we can sort ourselves out.

For me just actually confessing to my doctor I was struggling mentally was such a huge relief, actually sharing my troubled feelings and thoughts with another hunan being for the first time instantly set me on the road to a much much happier and healthier relationship with my mind.
It really is OK to not be ok sometimes.

{Ed001's Note - it is not only OK, it is normal. We all have tough times and need to talk to someone.}

For me I’m finding it hard, I shut my self away from everyone I’m still struggling to talk to people about what’s going through my mind, your mind is a dangerous thing very dangerous, especially when it convinces you that your wife amd kids hate you, I hurt my self very bad on a lot of occasions, amd I've always self harmed since I was young, amd i'm still really struggling, I’ve argued with a few of the members because I’ve been low amd i'm sorry.

{Ed001's Note - if it has helped you deal with the stress, I doubt anyone will care if you have argued with them mate. We all get that way at times.}

Absolutely Ed001 mate, everyone has negative unhappy fearful thoughts and feelings sometimes and although most of the time they disappear as quclky as they came sometimes things that stick around and become unwanted, unhappy mind habit way of thinking, and they are the ones that we need a hand with letting go of.

Albert Einstein said you can't fix a problem with the same thinking that created the problem in the first place, turns out old Albie knew what he was talking about on this one :-)

{Ed001's Note - I taught him everything he knows...}

@Welshgunner If you ever need to let off some steam or just chat you can email me at ed007@live. co. uk and if I'm online I'll get back to you asap. I've struggled with my mental health all my life and been to some very dark places and put people I loved through Hell.
Keep your chin up and try and talk, people understand more than we think. God bless buddy. 🙏
We used to run a site called Menopausal Men Talk or something that was a bit of a jokey site but maybe a site where guys can just talk about other stuff - especially just now - could help out some people.

Hi Welsh mate I am sorry it's so tough right now mate but it really will get betrer mate.

Our thoughts can really have a bad impact on our lives mate but please know and remember you are not your thoughts and your thoughts are not you.

If you google Thoughts Are Just Thoughts, there is a brilliant article on the ADAA site that explains thoughts brilliantly and really helps us Understand how unimportant they really are if we don't take them so seriously

Also
Through my job I'm half way through a MIND charity course about understanding others and our own design minds, something I learned in the self harm section was how people use ice cubes instead of cutting themselves as apparently the cold produces the same feeling as cutting but without the physical damage, the lady running the course says some people who self harm have had some real success with it, I really hope it helps mate.

Some nice posts on here today. I know it’s been an especially difficult period for some so just to re-iterate, stay safe everyone, and that’s not just about physical, it’s about the mind as well. Like all I go through periods of darkness and occasional bouts of extreme anger, thankfully the latter only ever aimed at inanimate objects. However I always find reading comments and opinions on this site a welcome escape from the realities of life, even when they are negative! We all need a bit of escapism in life, it can be really helpful, so keep up your comments all, both good and bad, all are welcome as far as I am concerned.

{Ed0666's Note - if you ever need to reach out Epping please don’t hesitate. You can get hold of us through the contact tab on the site.

Top posts Epping and Stephen, a trouble shared really is a trouble halved and the more we share the smaller our troubles become.
If I've learned anything it's that if we keep everything to ourselves and only ever talk things over in our own minds we will only ever get the same advice that caused us to struggle in the first place, seems pretty obvious now 🤗.
