With all these we are the unluckiest team in the league comments, and the ones about having lest rest then Spurs did the other day and blaming the people who do the fixtures, we are turning into the new liverpool or as I call them victim fc

I agree we are sounding very poor us lately Welsh mate and looking to blame external forces rather than accepting internal responsibly for the bigger picture.

We are not 10th and miles away from top 4 or light years away from challenging for titles because of VAR the refs mistakes or the FA and Uafa bias against us, we are where we are because of ourselves no one else.

We like everyone else learn far more from spending 10 seconds looking in the mirrow than a lifetime of pointing the finger and blaming everyone else for our own unhappiness.

I just put it down to poor play and management.

Hang on Welshy it’s true though with regards the fixtures all they had to do was move Spuds to Wednesday - we will get back at 4 to 5 Friday morning, do not tell me we are at a disadvantage.

Lol are not at a disadvantage

BUT yes I can’t argue it’s poor play, just how many times have we gifted and I mean gifted goals, crazy amount .

62’s post about points was very good and shows we really are going backwards . rapidly, but the mad man in me says give Arteta another season.

What evidence can be seen to suggest we will get any different next season? We have some good youngsters coming through and these are obviously reasons for optimism.

However I would argue that makes having the right manager even more important, not less. What a terrible waste it will be if we look back in 3 years time, after ESR and Saka have moved on to get success elsewhere, and realise we wasted them completely with a manager who insists players change to meet his rigid set up rather than a manager who changes his set up to make the most of this talent.

I see no signs that our manager wants to take the benefits of youth by upping our tempo and running and pressing other teams. I wonder how long before ESR realises he can earn the same salary anyway by running 3k, s less per game and passing sideways?

After all Xhakas done it for years and yet appears to be the first name on the team sheet.

Personally if Arteta can't show this season he's capable of better than last season I'd make a change, If he can get his team to average 2pts a game over the next 11 games and get us to 60 points total then I'd reconsider but nothing less, Arteta has to be accountable and deliver or go.
Lampard fell below Chelsea acceptable standards and regardless of illustrious playing career with the club he had to go and now Chelsea will most probably make top 4, unless we have the same expectations of our manager as top teams have, how will we ever become a top team ever again?

I genuinely believe next season will be Tierney and Saka last at Arsenal if we don't prove we can seriously challenge for Champions league football again absolute minimum.
Teams who not only can offer champions league football on a regular basis but also offer title challenging credentials will most definitely come knocking for those 2 players and another mid table season next season would undoubtedly give them little choice but to go, and wherever would that leave us?

Whatever decision we make this summer on Arteta has to prove the right decision or we are in a lora lora trouble after next season and for some time to come.

Chelsea fire the manager if he forgets to bring the doughnuts for the staff meetings. We are where we are till the end of the season. I'm hoping for a strong finish.

This season was always about arteta working out his game plan, figuring out what works and drilling that into the players and making them play the way he wants them to play.

He's sorted the defence, is working on the attack and by next season that should all be drilled into the players.

Accidentally sent that halfway through but given another decent transfer window where he can get the players he wants, I reckon we'll do pretty well next season after the madness of C.V. eases off and a decent preseason.

Look at pep, he barely scraped top 4 in his first season but his man city is playing some of the best football we've ever seen in the premier league. Obviously we don't have the budget of city but with some good additions and a coach who studied under one of the greatest football coaches ever I can see us getting back into the CL in a season or two.

But we've gone backwards this season NE mate, we are 10th and have been 10th or lower almost all season.

How far into next season do we go without improvement October November or another entire season?

If Arteta doesn't suddenly become what we need him to be then what?

If Arteta gets next season and fails again to have us seriously challenging for top 4 we will lose our best young players, Tierney Saka ERS Martinelli will be wanted by CL clubs and they naturally will want to play at that level to test themselves against the world's best players.

The stakes are high and the price for getting it wrong will match the stakes and be paid for in the years that follow.

We need to think long and hard before allow Arteta a 3rd season.

{Ed014's Note - Klopp will be available soon mate, he might like a spell in London 🤷‍♂️

I'd drive to Liverpool and pick him up Ed014 mate and I'd even go half's on the fuel costs mate 🖒😆.

{Ed014's Note - it’s a deal mate, as soon as he’s free we’ll pop up.

Also think I’ve forgotten to say I changed numbers from 47 to more of an Arsenal number in 14!

That and I was getting confused with 77.

Sure Thierry won’t mind. 🤷‍♂️

Just remember that no one wanted the job a year ago, who’s going to take it at the end if the season? And be realistic, neither Alegri or Nagglesmann will be coming in, and if anyone mentions Ralf at Saints, i'm just going to presume you want a drubbing of 9 every season. i'm behind Arteta, atleast for another year. Maybe a year out of european competition will do us the world of good.

1 year might 93 mate but what if 1 year runs into 2 years ?
What happens to our best players then?
And where would that leave us when they've gone?

It's got to be worthy of consideration before putting our foreseeable future in Artetas proven rookie hands
We are not talking about a manager with a proven track record here mate he's in his first ever job and may or may not have what it takes to be a good manager one day.
That's a lot of eggs to put in a basket that has so far looked extremely questionable and only capable of mid table performances and results for 1 and a half seasons.

62, the first half of the season we were going backwards, 100%, but as we all know the players downed tools. But now the squad has bought into arteta's philosophy and it's beginning to pay off. How many losses, draws and goals conceded are down to individual since the start of this year? Cut those down and we're a different team.

We all knew arteta wasn't going to provide an instant fix, especially when half of our players would struggle to get into most teams in the top half of the table. Judge him come the winter transfer window next season.
