Long discussion on soccer Saturday about Arsenal - Mersin thinks MA’s job is safe regardless of the EL outcome . Most pundits think the club are going nowhere and have spent dreadfully . All words echoed on here.

I'm pleased to hear Merson thinks Mikel is safe, happy days 🖒 I wounder who our new manager will be this summer 😀

I really liked Merson as a player but as a pundit he's definitely not the wisest in the land 😎.

His comment was on the basis who would want to come and start a rebuild at a failing club.

Maybe I'm biased mate but I think we are a brilliant opportunity for the right man who has the right combination of passion vision and ability, I realise it's a huge combination but we are far far from a lost cause and the right man is out there.

People will obviously point to the Edu interference putting people off joining us but with what we already there is already enough to challenge for top 4 ( Leicester squad isn't as good as ours ) and once a new manager achieves top credentials despite Edu he will be mote powerful than Edu as the club won't dare let him walk and risk the fans furry.

Arteta is complicit with Kia Edu and co because he knows that makes him useful despite his inability.

We are definitely a brilliant opportunity for any manager with ambition. We frequently use the phrase in sport class is permanent form is temporary and that goes for our club. Just about 5 years ago we were the 5/ 6th biggest club on the earth based on revenue, and in football terms that’s like 5 minutes ago. I don’t look at Inter Milan and say they are fallen and will never recover, and it’s the same with us. Unfortunately I haven’t seen any evidence that our current manager is the one to turn our fortune around, but someone will, and it will be soon.

epping gooner, Inter milan have ambition and are a bigger club than us internationally. Inter milan have ambition as evidenced by the signings they are making and the quality of coaching at the club.

We arsenal, have zero ambition and it stems from the owner; A disinterested owner with no knowledge of European football. The end result is catastrophic. I don't see us winning anything meaningful with silent stan at the helm.

I just don't see what you see with Stan Punani mate.

He's invested a lot of money in players to try and make us better.

He may not have enough understanding or abilty to run a successful football club but to accuse him of having zero ambition isn't backed up by the facts.
Just because he doesn't attend games in person or give interviews making fantastic statements of intent that does not mean he doesn't care or want Arsenal to be brilliant again.

Stan delegates because he accepts his limited knowledge of football, he gave Arsene a free hand and in Arsenes own words Stan gave him everything he asked for and refused him nothing.

Stans crime is poor delegation not lack of ambition.
