I've seen various posts about replacements for Mikel Arteta.

Here's my 3!

1. Nagelsmann - I highly doubt he would join us and I think he'll end up at Munich at some stage.

2. Ralph Hasenhuttl - More realistic choice and I really like his game. Full of energy, a good press and some attractive attacking football.

3. Graham Potter - I've mentioned him a few times and a number of the Eds have had high praise for him too. He likes to play possession football and move the ball the quickly. Could it be too much a step up though for him though?

3 realistic candidates though in my opinion. Allegri would be phenomenal but I can't see that happening.

Thoughts?

Obviously if you had a free choice eirher Nagelesmann or Allegri would do nicely.

Hasenhut and Potter both have experience Artera doesn't as does Nuno but in an ideal world we would get someone who has a, been there done done pedigree.

These managers are all free:
Lucien Favre
Allegri
Sarri
Lampard
Valverde
Viera
Benitez
Hughes
Eddie Howe
Marco Silva
Leonardo Jardin
Bruno Lage

I remember Eddie Howe being touted as a possible successor to Arsene. Would he be worth a punt?

Ps I haven't included a certain gentleman named Jose.

Jose wasn't for us pre Spurs Sally, as much as we all appropriate what he did for us while at Spurs I don't think his association with them has improved his Arsenal acceptance levels much 😃

I actually don't mind Jose, away from football I think he's actually a decent man but put him at any football club and he immediately becomes toxic as a character.

If it was a choice between Jose and Christopher Biggins I'd welcome Biggins with open arms 🤗.

:-) I guessed as much Sally, after the drama of last week and narrowly avoiding the pantomime leage the thought of Jose looming this week would be to much without a period of recovery in between 😀.

Potter, I’m from Swansea amd all the swans fans slag him off and want somone new so he’s nowhere near good enough for us sorry.

{Ed001's Note - Potter hasn't been at Swansea for years, so I have no idea what you are talking about.}

To be honest Sally, only Allegri sticks out to me from the that list and that won't happen.
I can see the appeal with Eddie Howe but I think we need someone with real grit and a no nonsense attitude.
Graham Potter and Eddie Howe don't have that way about them. I can see players with big ego's being even harder to manage. Arteta has it and I love to see it but he's not getting performances back from the players. Maybe something will click next season, who knows 🤷🏻‍♂️
Lucien Farve may actually be a choice that would work in the immediate term but I do think someone slightly younger could be brought in.
I'm on the fence with Nuno. I don't know why but sometimes when you're not quite feeling it, it's hard to be convinced 😂.

Ed 1 I never said years? Every swans fans I know have gone off him.

{Ed001's Note - yes, because he left them years ago after a short period in charge, to take over at Brighton.}

As Richard Attenborough would say Glen

" and here we have the lesser spotted Mikel Arteta, perfectly at home in his natural habitat of 10th place in the premier league "

" the Mikel Arteta seldom strays far from its natural environment and is easily distinguished from other Artetas by its unique plumage, and is better known as the Lego Crowned Arteta in some parts of the world "

😀😁😂😉😊.

Brighton have been so unlucky, they dominate most games, just are so bad at finishing which Potter can't be blamed for. I remember reading an article in January on expected goals, on how the table would look if teams scored their expected goals or conceded their expected goals and they would of been 5th, I know that doesn't show the whole picture and football doesn't work like that, but it does show that his style creates lots of chances and restricts opponents opportunities, but in the big moments at both ends of the pitch they are just rubbish! Which with better players he might do great things.

Absolutely no manager anywhere and probably at anytime in history has served an apprenticeship like Graham Potter.
I'm not saying he should be our next manager but the bloke has earned everything he's got from football and hasn't been given anything on a playe at any stage of his career.

Gerrard Rooney Arteta Lampard and plenty of others have been afforded privileges because of their playing careers but Potter has definitely done it the hard way, that's for sure.
