Blimey, I'm reading Leno is up for sale!

{Ed014's Note - think we’re looking at a part exchange with Aston Villa who apparently have a great young keeper we’re after! 🤣🤣

That's ridiculous if true, although it makes my life easier if it is.

The only place I had any sympathy at all for Arteta was over the 50/ 50 cell he had to make between Martinez and Leno, he got it wrong but it could easily have gone the other way.

If he now sells Leno anyway, phew I'm totally free of Arteta understanding 😂😎😋😊😉😀.

Did we put a buy back clause in Martinez's contract or is that too sensible?

{Ed002's Note - No there won't be - as a rule only one English side ever does that.}

Wasn't Martinez about 30 when we sold him? I think at that age if you sell you do with confidence your doing the right thing or don't sell at all.

{Ed014's Note - he’s 28, prime age for a keeper

I Love Emi but I understand why the club stuck with Leno. He was our best player until that awful midair collision.

I read he preferred working with the goalkeeping coach who was dispensed with. I'm sure being coached by someone you're not happy with must be difficult for a keeper. I don't think he was ever quite the same since that collision.

It will be interesting to see who will be in goal tomorrow!

Is he, fair play Ed014 mate, I just thought I heed he was 20 when he joined the club and was at Arsenal 10 years hence I came up with 30, but it's far from beyond the realms of possibility that I've misunderstood, it's happend before 😃.

{Ed014's Note - 😂😂 it certainly has!

Could be, and he might score again too Gunner 😉.

Thing is Sally if Mikel did decide to put Willian in goal, it wouldn't rank in his top 5 strangest decisions 😀😉😁😁.

Sorry Sally I don’t, Leno hasn’t filled me with confidence from day one, Martinez was the man in form huge huge error to move him on.

Leno has always been a great shot stopper but terrible at crosses, commanding his box, distribution, organising defence and catching. His decision making is also very poor. I never liked him nor thought he was a good choice for us. At the time when our defence was shambolic - he was good durpe to number of shots but he would never get a sniff in at City, CFC, Liverpool etc

Emi was by far the better keeper but I guess with Leno injured or Mikel’s favourite - he dropped the guy that helped win the FA Cup, cried and win the number 1 jersey. But instead, Mikel like most of his decisions just favoured the few players who like him.

If true - it’s just crazy. is it true or a p take?

Oxford I absolutely would have preferred Emi to stay as well. It felt incredibly secure when he was commanding the box. I just wouldn't have liked to have made that decision at that time. I expect the fact he had been shipped out on loan a few times and various keepers had been brought ahead of him made the decision a hard one.

I'd love him to come back!
