Everyone on this page. We are competing with Norwich to sign Buendia. That is an example of how bad we’ve fallen. Please can we all acknowledge that Xhaka not good enough DESPITE BEING GOOD THIS SEASON. Bellerin not good enough. Aubameyang, yes Aubameyang, not good enough. Three quarters of this team is not good enough, the owners are a joke and edu, Vinai and Arteta are all a joke. We shouldn’t want top 4. Stop saying top is good for next season. We pay the highest ticket prices. We are going in no direction. Teams around us getting better we are not. We were a shadow of a club at the later stages with wenger and now we are not even that. We are dead lads.

I am hoping we have other targets and had put a cap for Buendia's price and didn't want to go beyond that. Aston Villa may be more desperate for him as Grealish's replacement. Very good player but let's not talk ourselves down until the transfers are closed. May be we get Odegard!

I feel more sorry for Norwich fans. I would much prefer them to keep the players who helped them get in the premiership for at least the season rather than cash in before a ball has been kicked.

Anyway, Ed has constantly told us we need to sell before we can buy, and unless I have missed anything, we haven’t sold a bean as of yet. Also, yes he looks a good player, but he plays across the front 3 for Norwich not CM.

We already have ESR, Saka, Pepe and Martinelli competing for those 3 places in our team, with maybe Willock also being in the fray.

Most have been moaning the lack of opportunity for Martinelli over the past year, so how do we think his opportunities would advance with another number 10 in the squad, especially someone who would probably expect guarantees of playing as part of signing.

Why is it so devastating he chose Vila?

Niether club can offer European football next season but both can equally offer premier league football and both can sell their history and plans for future.

Vila are former English and European champions and we are former invincibles.

He didn't exactly choose Wycombe Wanders over Arsenal and maybe this is a reality check for all those debating over whether to buy a Stirling shirt for next season.

Must admit Ed it has surprised me to see so many fans arrogant that buendia is going to villa. I mean it could be a number of things. They made a better offer or they made him feel more wanted. Or he just preferred them over us.

Personally I'm hoping perhaps we have other targets in mind and wasn't willing to match villas great offer. Either way congrats to them and time for us to move on. Lots of time left in the transfer window, don't believe it's even opened yet 😂.

Absolutely spot-on again D, we do need to get over ourselves a little bit and accept we are not currently the draw we once were and other former top clubs will be as attractive as us.

Villa Everton Leeds have every reason to feel they have equal pulling power to us currently.

Exactly ED so why would we want him? I don’t get the disappointment if I’m honest . I remember the days when we’d be moaning like mad we are chasing someone from Norwich.

Ed, what went wrong with us trying to sign Emi? Did we bid, did we bid too low or was Villa just a better option. Everything I read looked like we put in the better second bid and player wanted to join us. thanks.

I think there were a few reasons,
1. He didn’t want to be part of a sneaky six club.
2. Arsenal projectory is downwards of late and Aston Villa upwards.
3. Arteta will be on the brink of getting sacked if ye have a bad start.
4. Martinez probably told him how bad things really are inside the club.
5. Only thing better than 1 emi is 2 emi’s lol thanks again for Martinez and the 6 points last season 😎.

Hi Ed I'm not arrogant arsenal fan I know the club I love is not whet it use to be bit I thought we would of had more money to buy players then villa that was all but I do remember you saying that arsenal have spent most of the budget last year. Just hope we start fresh I would like the youngsters to get more of a chance to prove themselves.

{Ed001's Note - I am not sure why you were in for Buendia anyway, surely you have other priorities? Especially if Arteta is going to continue to arrogantly drive away Saliba, who is probably the best teenage centre-back in Europe. It shows how badly he is being treated when he is keen to leave the team he supports because of Arteta.}

True Ed this is what I mean by giving the youngsters a try look at the 2 English lads that went to dortmound both seem to be class abd they git them foR hardly anything maybe clubs should not akways but and see what they have. I'd personally give willock a try in midfield.
