I guess we don't believe signing a striker or attacker would improve our chances of winning the league and instead we will wait for the next window. so how many windows need to pass before we invest where the team needs?
Guess we are thinking we can finish 2nd without investment
Bottle job. complete lack of ambition.
Spurs get a forward but once again the Boss ignores our attack.
"We've been, as Arsenal fans, asking for a nine for two years, four transfer windows. "
Henry is frustrated also.
"I think it'll be difficult to bring somebody in but without another special player in attack I don't think they've got enough to win the Premier League. "
I guess there's always next season again. frustrating to say the least. Don't we want to win the league ?.

Have to say that I think it's really disappointing and really shows a lack of ambition.

Well if Henry is frustrated that is awful!
You'd think the club would think about his feelings before doing or not doing anything,

Ornstein is saying we bid 40m for Ollie Watkins but Villa wanted 60m. Obviously the club decided that was too much for a 29 year old and apparently didn't go back with another offer. I feel sad for Ollie if he really wanted the move. Probably his last chance to be a gooner.

Come on 62 - he’s a winner and loves the club. He’s stating the obvious what a winning big club should do. It’s not his feelings but a winners opinion.

Oh no! G62 doesn't agree with someone on the internet! Let's shut down the site as we can't have that. On the bright side, at least we were spared a weird, convoluted analogy.

I agree with Mal, I think we are waiting for someone Sesko/ Isak or somebody else. Ornstein said things are quite calm inside the club about not signing a striker.
On the subject of Watkins 60 mill is a lot of bunce for a 29 year old who in my opinion wouldn't have been the answer. You could also argue that with the 6 or 9 pts lead Liverpool have the damage has already been done and a 60 mill 29 year old striker ain't going to repair the damage.
We will have to go with what we got and see what happens.
I should imagine St James Park will be absolutely bangin tomorrow night so we have it all to do but it's not Everest we are capable.
Take care everyone.

Highbury, agree. A fair whack of cash that for a 29 year old. The concern for most fans is, what happens if Kai gets a knock and is ruled out? It's fine now we're sitting second, but that could change in an instant.
I wasn't really expecting a statement signing this window, but some reinforcement would have been nice. We've not got that so we just move on and see where we are at the end of the season. If we see no silverware this season, hopefully the lads are prepared and still hungry to go for it next season.

I agree HB, a 20m difference in valuation is huge.
I, like you, think the league is just out of reach at the moment. Having White, Tomi and Saka back will definitely help and if we don't do it this year we have a fantastic base for next season. Obviously every other club will be strengthening too so its never going to be easy!
My one fear is Havertz's energy.
Hey perhaps we have a dynamite no.9 coming through the academy!

Henry is a club legend no one questions that, but his opinion and feelings are no more significance than any other fans now days.
If he wants to post on here himself then I think we'd all be delighted to engage with him but someone else stating his feelings is about as relevant as someone stating how disapointed their neighbour or mate down the pub are.
It's just one more way to knock the club and manager and encourage doubt over their ambitions, I believe the club and manager want the title as much as we do, whether Denis Bergkamp or Dodgy Dave from Dartmouth share my feelings on this is or not is totally irrelevant I'm very capable of thinking and speaking for myself.

Lad, you're not the kumbaya humming, sage burning, chakra balancing, peace preaching, enlightened chap you think you are if the mere existence of a different opinion sends you into a mini spiritual crisis. You're getting pretty ridiculous.
We all know you can "speak for yourself". May I suggest you do that and don't speak for all of us? You don't like Sy's posts? Fair enough. Just scroll past them. There's no need for you to try and tell the rest of us how insignificant other people's opinions are.

One thing I want to say is, after all the years of reading (not always commenting) on this site, there was (still is) fun banter. Compared to other teams who wouldn't think twice about differing opinions escalating into becoming personal, it seems it's heading that way slightly (just my opinion)
We only know of each other from this fantastic site, and its fantastic to gauge other supporters opinions whether agree or disagree.
Wouldn't want our arsenal site to become like the other teams sites.
We all want same outcome 4 our great club, and if my suggestions are right or wrong, it doesn't matter as long as the club moves forward.

Sy, Sharpie, G62, Sallyjanine, mal, Gabi, Highbury bill and everyone else. love you're opinions, whether I agree or disagree.

I'm not the one telling people not to have opinions and to drink chamomile tea, fella. You didn't even have an opinion on what Sy said except to tell him that his opinion, Henry's opinion, and Dodgy Dave's opinion don't matter.
So, just no more discussing things on here because you come along and wrap it up in your wet blanket? Absolute nonsense.
Sorry Ramsgate, I'll just leave this thread. You're right, as fans we should have solidarity in what we want from the team we support. As fans, we can, and possibly should, have differing opinions about the team we support.

My bigger fear is Kai needing to score an important goal in an important game rather than Henry’s feelings etc.
im concerned what this blind spot Arteta has, will and has cost us. Plus what it says to future targets and players renewing contracts as we lack ambition.
Don’t worry 62 - I will enjoy the football but you don’t get a trophy for coming second. I am happy and happy you are with us being the top loser in the league ? ?
Question - who came 2nd to bolt in his last two races? I have no clue and don’t care as Bolt won.
You really telling me you would be happy with no trophies over next 5 years but we were always top 3?
Were you not disappointed at all with the window?
Are you not frustrated with our blind spots?
Are you blind like I was to Wenger?
Nothing wrong questioning things - you can still be happy but modern world is where it is because people kept asking how to improve things.
Hope you are well - love you hear your honest no BS answer xx.

A lot of questions there SY, I just think we have so much more to be happy about than unhappy about.
Would I like us to win the league? Of course I would
Do I believe the players, the club and manager want to win the league every bit as much as we fans do?
Yes I genuinely do believe that.
Do we have to win the league for me to be happy and respect the players, manger and clubs efforts?
Absolutely not, I respect anyone who gives 100% effort to be the best they can be and I totally respect and accept the fact that each and every season only one team can possibly be the best.
I do absolutely insist on effort, commitment and passion because they are always possible to give and I think they are reasonable things to insist on but I never insist on us winning every game and every competition because I don't believe that is a reasonable thing to insist on.

Hi 62, I assume we aren’t falling out
I genuinely don’t think the club and Arteta are obsessed with winning the league. Top 4 was once our priority and competing probably is now. But if we wanted to win there’s no way they would have not addressed our attack in past 5 windows. Played sideways passes, be negative and try not to lose Vs win and be happy signing Kai and Sterling. Just doesn’t add up. Not saying they aren’t trying, care or lazy. But they lack cutting edge. They’ve improved yes but stopped and not kicked on.
The players - putting a shift in can’t be the only bar they need to exceed. We must have the talent and effort to win. Needs both - that’s on Arteta not the players. So I respect the players but I think they have a sense of responsibility to play the ball forward. They’ve not done that and suddenly in a grudge match they do it. Why not in other games.
If it’s effort alone - let me pull on a short.
Example - if I have a tiling job that needs two tilers and i'm paying top dollars for a high end finish but the company sends 1 half decent tiler. Takes too long, works long hours and job is ok but I have a 2m house and the finish isn’t to that standard. Am I happy because the tiler worked hard or annoyed as it wasn’t to the standard or timeline expected? Still got the job done but not to a high standard. I’m annoyed - annoyed at the tiler for the finish and annoyed at the company for not putting the right number of qualified people on the job. That’s the way I see the world and that’s what drives me. Why should I be happy? Doesn’t mean I’m mentally unstable but I have high standards depending on the situation
Enjoyed the banter and keep it up as this site does make people think twice about opinions. I’ve been wrong many times on players but my standards / expectations are me…. Xx.

Hi Sy of course we are not falling out mate, we just see things in very different ways, we both want the same things but have different opinions on the clubs progress towards them and the club's ambitions to achieve them.
