Why would Mbeumo opt for Utd over Arsenal.

Why would a player chose Utd over Arsenal? Unless Arsenal weren't interested in you or you'd be second choice.

So Cunha and Mbeumo for Utd - interesting.

We can’t have them all but surely if he is going to Man U that is one of our options gone. Our desperation for goals means we could be happy with any attacker who has scored 10 plus goals in a season. Mbuemo would have been a good addition though.

I expect once you have been first choice a player wouldn't accept being a backup Highbury, which perhaps he would have been at Arsenal.

Would you go for a cheeky 40m Ollie Watkins bid as a second choice striker? Good impact player off bench and starter in cup games…. would pay more now but would have paid 50m in last window to give us a striker for run in….

Watkins will be very good for us, the club thought it would be gamble to pay the asking price in January due to his age, but how that would have turned out we will never know. Him for 40 million will be a good business, whether he rotates as the main striker or plays as impact player, he will score goals for us. We should go for Gyokeres/ Sesko and Watkins plus one of Williams/ Eze/ Gordan/ Gittens/ Ekitike to get to the next level.

Iknow we are still pretty early in the transfer market, but Arsenal are very slow again, how long has a medical been going on for a player that we potentially agreed the deal with in January. Rumour has it Zubimendi has rebuffed the medical claims. If we loose out on signing the players that we have been identifying who takes the blame Arteta? Berta? Kronke?

Difficult to blame Arteta unless he can’t make his mind up. You’d say Berta or the board. You’d think Berta would have a budget and board approval to get certain things signed off but if price is higher than we expect and it impacts what else we can buy you can see delays as we were moving quick. I guess other teams may want replacements so it’s not us delaying but just the transfer world as we know it…. Who knows but I don’t think Arteta. Just my thoughts.

Sounds like it will be after 1st July so in next years accounts. Think Pires was delayed for same reason. Can’t be for our accounts as they end 31st May. Just checked their accounts and they start 1st July. May be truth in that….

Ed001 posted on the Liverpool page that Zubi is now flirting with Real Madrid. That could be the reason why the deal is being held up.
