It is still a long way to go and all that…. but next season’s PL looks very tough. Man city has done some good business with Marmoush, Cherki and Reijnders and they will not have another off season like the last. Liverpool if they keep the tempo and add the players they are tracking will be difficult as well. Chelsea, New Castle and Aston Villa will also challenge. We never look like big club who could barge through and take matters in our own hands, always cautious and slow on and off the pitch.

But other than everything looking great for everyone but us, everything is OK. Isn't it?

G62, I admire your positivity and I am also positive and happish with where we are, my point was the feeling we get from how we operate in the transfers. We are a big club but we are not feared, imagine us and Real Madrid are linked to same player where RM have serious interest in the player as us, everybody knows what the outcome will be in this case. We had the one off triumph with Rice but when we have an absolute glaring need for a good striker for last two years, we are so hesitant.

Zubimendi? COYG.

Hang a min Highbury. weren't Real in contention to sign Zubimendi? Have we beaten them to his signature or?
I personally believe we can compete with the best/ attract the best, but I also think we dilly dally around the bush and try and buy a Rolls Royce for a pence!
{Ed001's Note - no, Madrid never wanted him. The hold up was that he wanted to play for Xabi Alonso and waited while his agent asked if they were interested in signing him, but Madrid decided not to make a move for him.}

Hi Highbury, I'm actually neither positive or negative about this window and what Arsenal will or won't do during it. I'm just very open to thinking it will all come out ok for us by the time the window closes whether I choose to worry about it or not, I don't see any value in telling my lots of negative stories about Arsenal and really positive stories about all our potential competitors because that would naturally make feel negative and down about all things Arsenal. So I prefer to wait and see what actually happens rather than concerned myself with positive or negative thoughts about any of it mate.
Up The Arsenal ? no matter what the future holds for us as a club.

Ed001, you might as well just wind up the sites as apparently there's no need to discuss any of this. Just sit on your couch drinking camomile tea dressed in monk's robes.
{Ed001's Note - it is very strange that the one claiming to be least concerned is on every thread giving us his thoughts on everything. Anyone genuinely so unconcerned would not even be looking at the site.}

Haha, I thought I was the only one that noticed.
Is Dubai still treating you well? I'm hearing from my sisters back home about the unbearable heat. I've gotten soft - wilting in 17 degrees Scottish summers.
{Ed001's Note - I don't notice the heat, but then I don't have AC running during the day, only to sleep, so it doesn't feel so bad when I go outside. I am down near the Sharjah border these days, I wasn't sure if I would like it, but I love this area. Right by Shabab Al Ahli's stadium, so I go along to watch them when they are at home, and it overlooks the training pitches for first team and academy. I get to spend the evenings sat on the balcony watching the training during the season.
Scottish summers reaching 17c? Wow, the earth really has heated up, that is about 7 or 8 degrees hotter than it was when I was a kid.}

I can only wish for AC. I'm seriously wondering how I survived summers before I came here, but every place is airconditioned there.
I've only been to Sharjah once and that was about 2 and a half decades ago. It wasn't very developed back then but buying alcohol was much easier. Is it as busy as Dubai is these days?
{Ed001's Note - I don't know, I haven't been there for 20 years. Nowadays though, a lot of people commute from there to Dubai as it is cheaper, means it is terrible traffic to go there.
Are you ever returning to the Gulf, or is Scottyland home for good now?}
11.) 12 Jun 2025
12 Jun 2025 15:21:37
Don't know if bonnie Scotland will be home forever, but a return to the gulf isn't in the cards. These days I don't mind it for a holiday, but I haven't been over for 6 years now.
Plus, I have a higher power that makes these decisions. She called Wife ?.
{Ed001's Note - ah yes, she who must be obeyed.}

Might I suggest a dash of cayenne pepper and a sprinkle of dried mint with that camomile tea Mr Sharp, oh and if you don't have a monks outfit handy a double bedsheet will be more than sufficient.

Hi Ed001 I'm interested in what's going on, optimistic and looking forward to the new season ahead. I just don't worry about or bother getting myself upset about things I have absolutely no control over whatsoever. Whatever does or doesn't happen this summer and next seaspn will take place with or without my consent to do, what where's the value in getting myself angry about things I cannot change even if I wanted to.
{Ed001's Note - not sure why you are talking about getting angry, no one else has mentioned that.}
14.) 12 Jun 2025
12 Jun 2025 18:57:58
Hi Ed001 there have been people who are themselves clearly angry and upset about us coming 2nd again who have become angry with those people who refuse to share their opinions and anger. Which is why I mentioned the word angry.
{Ed001's Note - how can you tell that when none have ever said that? It is impossible to tell from text only what someone's state of mind is.}

Your wee passive aggressive "Mr. Sharpe" is in contradiction to your zen lifestyle. Just saying.
16.) 12 Jun 2025
12 Jun 2025 21:30:48
If I lived a Zen lifestyle you would possibly be totally correct Mr Sharp, but the camomile tea and monk robes were entirely of your creation, all I've done is play along with the image you have decided to project onto me, but in my own way.
I have long since stopped commenting on your posts and comments to others and choosen only to respond to any comments you post towards me or about me. I find life's easier if we accept there will always be people who for whatever reason we are never going see eye to eye with and to keep a respectful distance from those people who we simply don't gel with.
17.) 12 Jun 2025
12 Jun 2025 19:45:41
Hi Ed001, someone who has recently decided to stop posting certainly sounded very angry with Arteta and those posters who refused to agree with his feelings about Arteta, he made absolutely no secret of how he felt about those posters who refused to agree with him. He definitely sounded like a very angry and upset person to me mate.
18.) 12 Jun 2025
12 Jun 2025 22:16:43
If only anything you said was remotely true. From the numerous times you've accused people of being someone else, to the constant belittling of other people's concerns, opinions, or arguements about the team that don't align with the zen philosophy you're peddling. It's like you do it for a living. It's very weird.
19.) 12 Jun 2025
12 Jun 2025 22:55:16
You don't sound like someone who is ready to keep a respectful distance Mr Sharp, neither do you sound like someone who is ready to accept the zen camomile tea and monk robes version of me is entirely of your creation.
I have absolutely no problem whatsoever of respectfully staying away from you, the question is can you it within yourself to simply ignore me and get on with enjoying the company of everyone else but me on the site?

Hi 62, hope you are well. I presume you could be talking about me. I get we are different. I am not angry or have anger towards you. I get that football is for enjoyment and entertainment; I also see sport as 100% about competing to be the best or to be the best you possibly can. I’m 100% not behind participation and 100% against not celebrating winning.
I believe our style of play has been less than entertaining for large parts. We’ve lacked the squad / starting 11 to compete, tactics and mentality to win.
So, why wouldn’t I want change, have an opinion and demands on the club. Don’t you have opinions on how we should donate to charity, tax people, green investment, music, films etc. How much do you believe you control in the world - do you not have opinion on anything? It feels you want people like me to chill. I’m interested as to why you think our players out maximum effort in over the season when they’ve taken the easy sideway pass way more often than not and not busted a gut to get forward or insisted on others raising their games. The manager is the same - over play players and whine about injuries while not being prepared to manage tough players or make big in game decisions. He’s ruined Martinelli by ensuring he’s scared to give ball away and must always defend. You are on the rumours site and banter site but want me to be happy with 2nd, be chilled and grateful. I just want to understand and banter but you just talk in riddles….
I wish you well and want you to interact as you are an intelligent individual who surely has an opinion, desire, see weaknesses etc - it’s not a crime to express them or say Kai sucks. Doesn’t make you angry, sad, bad person or nor a fan. Just a human with an opinion and something to back it up whether we agree or not.
Hope you have a great weekend mate and I have no ill feeling or anger. Post facts and opposite opinion as it’s a banter site - it dies if you don’t express
Evening Ed ?.
