Should be a great game, Burnley like to play some decent football.

I guess it could have been easier, we could have got really lucky like Derby County. ;-)

Congratulations to Messi, truly the greatest to play the game.

Never mind Ronaldo, Messi will get injured again at somepoint so you can win another one.

Couldn't agree more, Ronaldo is just the best of the rest and a complete tool to boot.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - ronaldo was robbed..

11 Jan 2016 19:57:07
Robbed my arse ed25, lol, he is shallower than a dried out sea bed, saying how he tries to win trophies for his team, yeah righto. ;-)

Sorry ed25 I know you like him but he doesn't come close to Messi, can't argue his quality but not up with Messi.

It's like trying to convince me that Cleverley is really a professional footballer. ;-)

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - if you put ronaldo in the barca side he would score 100 goals a season, and if messi was at real he would have a worse conversion rate than sanogo ......well thats my view anyway.. :)

11 Jan 2016 20:10:29
Nice try ed but I'm not having it ;-) .

The Barcelona boys, as in Messi, Saurez and Neymar a clearly all mates, Ronaldo doesn't have any.

Thankfully his gaff is floor to ceiling, wall to wall mirrors so he's happy. :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - if ronaldo was a mars bar he would eat himself red dog, but there is no getting away from the fact that he is the best footballer who has ever lived mate, and i have seen carlton palmer!.. :)

11 Jan 2016 20:32:37
Dear God

Please help Ed025.

Many thanks
1404.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i have just realized that.. dear god...is an anagram of... a red dog, i hope you two are not ganging up on me.. :)

11 Jan 2016 20:32:53
Totally agree with Ed.

Ronaldo every day for me.
I know he can be a tool on the pitch, but still a terrific player.

Messi is a magician, granted, but he has always done it playing for the best team in the world.

So has Ronaldo, but he has also done it in Prem League. That's why I put him above Messi. Not the sole reason, but one of the reasons.

11 Jan 2016 20:35:35
Carlton Palmer, now there's a name from the past, I think Fellaini is the new Carlton Palmer.

To think he actually got 18 caps for England is unbelievable.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - tell me about it red dog..

11 Jan 2016 20:57:29
Even as God I can't help ed25, not only does he like Ronaldo and Cleverley but he has led a life of debauchery with excessive, sand, sea, surf, sex and enough Southern Comfort to sink the Bismarck!

You only need to see him in the speedos to know he is lost. ;-)

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - alas you know me so well red dog..

11 Jan 2016 21:00:07
Ronaldo needs all the flicks and tricks to try to win games whereas Messi just needs the ball, if you think Ronaldo is better you've clearly not watched enough of Messi.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i think messi is great 1404...in fact i would go as far as to say hes the second best player in the world..

11 Jan 2016 21:12:30
It's a team game, that's why I'll go for messi. He has the best balance in the football world, he brings the best out of hos team mate and can get you a goal out of no where, not ronaldo tho. He is a world class player by all means but he doesn't give his team as much as messi would. As for he personality is something I don't really care about.

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed025's Note - roald shades it for me moe for his skill as well as aerial ability mate..

11 Jan 2016 21:37:35
Moe,
You can't always look at the negative side mate.
Ronaldo has been recognised as one of the most generous sports stars in the world.
For example, he paid $83,000 for a boy to have a brain tumour operation and $165,000 to open up a cancer centre in Portugal.

He also sponsors/ donates to most of the major charities in the world, like UNICEF.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - just to clear things up..he has never sent me a bottle of southern comfort.. :)

11 Jan 2016 21:51:06
For me it's all about naturally ability and Messi has it all, just so gifted and a genuine team player.

This for me is where Ronaldo falls down, yes he's worked extremely hard to make himself the world class player he is but Messi had it all from minute one.

Whether or not he's a good guy or a bad guy Ronaldo like the rest is strictly 2nd best.

If you think what a little magician Cazorla is in the premier league, well for me Messi would kill it too.

I bet you can fit into a pair of his Speedo's though Ed? :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - we have a similar body shape dags..he has a six pack...and i have a a barrel.. :)

11 Jan 2016 20:24:55
the award is given on ability and it's hard to choose but in my opinion messi is the better player ( or the player I prefer to watch )

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Jan 2016 22:26:46
Its hard to compare these two guys to each other, both being insane in what they do.
However like you point out Dagenham, Ronaldo has been successfull in two very different leagues whereas Messi has been in one club his whole career, a club with a lot more stability. PS: Might have a bit red tainted glasses though.

Dags, being from the middle east I come to recognise a lot of his generosity mate, he has a great humanity in him absolutely. My view purely on the game. Ed, He skills, aerial ability are amazing but all around game it is messi for me.
Ed025, I'm sure you love your six pack so much that you decided to cover it with one big bag or as you call it a barrel lol.

Jonjo Shelvey, you got to love his spirit :-)

I know you're going to think I've been on the brandy but wouldn't mind shelvey in an arsenal shirt!

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Jan 2016 13:56:55
As long as he was only wearing it on a boys only holiday in Magaluf, jeez that brandy must be leathel stuff.

Can you imagine a team of Ashley Williams, Tiote, Song, Shelvey, Sturridge, Micah Richards, Fellaini, Lewis Holtby, Charlie Adams, Balotelli and so many more bang average numpties that at various times fans have wanted here.

That's without including any of Derby's 300,000. ;-)

Agree with Red.

As long as he has "Club mascot" printed on back of shirt its cool.
