I agree with the score but must admit with both Adam and Shawcross suspended for this game it's difficult to see where our goals are going to come from.

3-0 stoke not a problem away from their own patch.

It's funny been an arsenal fan I think. Because 95% of other teams fans would love their team to be like ours yet most of the time we a bitterly disappointed. It's like we are starved and someone keeps cooking bacon next door. We can smell it but when are we going to taste it

Frazzles taste like bacon a bit and at the end of the month when money is tight a lot of people who are struggling financially certainly wouldn't turn there nose up at them but I'm pretty sure they don't serve them for breakfast at most £100 a night hotels.

Wenger surely has lost the plot. How can he come out and say that no players were available that would have strengthened our squad? Does he not realise that he's just making himself look a complete Muppet in front of the fans and the press? There was a plethora of quality players available that would have easily strengthened the squad, yet he's the only one who can't see it.

I'll agree that there is nothing more to say on our transfer activity (after this post) since the window is shut and we just need to move on and push forward with what we have, and us as fans just have to deal with it. But the way he handles the press is quite bizarre how he says that and then goes on to boast about how he's made over 300 transfers in his career.

It makes me wonder, does he just have some sort of complex about him that he truly believes he knows better than anyone else, be it fans, pundits, players, or other managers? Or does he know he done fudged up this summer and is just hastily trying to cover for himself? Though it doesn't really seem as though he thought before he spoke at that press conference. It would be nice to see him at least acknowledge that the club may have tried to bring someone in, but these remarks just make it clear to me that that wasn't the case at all this summer.

It's obvious he is intent on winning a title his way. He's in the one percent that think our squad can win the title. He's like a greyhound chasing that same rabbit toy hel never catch

Bayern barca both won there leagues and have brought well. Strange

Like you say we move on but I don't want him using the lack of buying at the end of the season. When he says we did well under the circumstances etc etc.

I do agree in some ways mate. It wasn't just the fans who thought we could do something. But you have to put yourself in wengers mindset. He likes to buy players that fit and I believe he really thinks that there wasn't the player he was after. I don't think he's telling lies or mugging us off. I do personally think that we should have got someone and we have missed a trick. But what do I know I'm just a fan.

Arsene is his own man and makes his own decisions and if come May the 1st we are within 3 points of the premier league leaders his decisions will be justified because we will be in very serious contention for the title.
By the same token should May day arrive and we're fighting a 3rd and 4th place battle then all the talking excuses and reasons won't cut it for many people we've lost no top players for 2 seasons we've added 3 top quality internationals and we've got a small fortune in the bank so if he can't do it now then why will he be able to do it at some piot in the future? He can still talk the talk but can he still walk the walk?

This is the year for me. We have been financially viable for a few years now and we have had ozil then Sanchez so people were happy. We have bought cech and he should save us some points but like you say we have to at least knock on the door this year

I think the biggest thing u can blame wenger on is not doing his business early , he said no one was available that was attainable at the time , which is prob true the only player that would of improved us was spider , but we wanted carvalho , we waited for him till after the under 21s comp and then he got injured , buy that time Utd had bought spider so we could my do that deal , then as a striker he only wanted benzema and again he waited and Madrid could not get a replacement ,he believed Madrid would get one as they prob said they would ( they are that cocky) what he needs to do is decide who he wants and go get them from the off not always wait wait wait! I think his transfer strategy is from the 90s That's my opinion anyway!

I don't think carvalho was ever an option. He'd cost to much and mendes and Wenger have previous.

Bearing in mind Welbeck's recent surgery and our failure to land a striker, it's a shame we didn't keep Akpom at the club.
We now have no natural cover for Sanchez on the left. No similar cover to Giroud in the central attacking role and no quality cover for Coquelin.
I understand that it isn't easy to sign a top notch striker, but to let Akpom go, before Welbeck was fit and before signing an additional striker, was a poor decision. Whilst accessing the attacking options we could have kept Akpom at the club for longer before sending him out on loan, as the loan window for clubs below the premier league, closes later.
The striking options for the central role are now down to Giroud and Walcott. Sanchez isn't really an option, as we have no cover for him, unless we play a player out of their best position.
On a positive note, let's get behind the team on Saturday and cheer them on to a win.....

Aren't we allowed to bring players loaned to the championship back early if we choose anyway?
