G62,
Steve is Jack Dee :-) .

Derby,
Robben is class.

14 Nov 2015 09:48:01

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Nov 2015 11:47:03
Gunner i can't watch jack dee without thinking of me either. what's going on? .

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Nov 2015 12:01:08
Just out of curiosity Steve . Why jack Dee?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - because hes a miserable sod.. :)

14 Nov 2015 12:14:44
We know that ed, but surely in any self analysis no one can actual think I'm a grumpy sod. I might change my profile to Bernard manning.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - your not grow...but the old steve was mate.. :)

14 Nov 2015 12:16:02
Haha, 2 peas in a pod Ed.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Nov 2015 14:07:24
Gro do you really need to ask. I just think he fits my profile, minus the looks and the humour, mmmmmm why did i pick jd. I was going to have victor meldrew but then people would think i was never happy. Second thoughts.

13 Nov 2015 22:10:42
Ed,
Bit of a compliment for you.
Was doing a lesson with a yound lad today.
We had a 5 minute break and got talking about footy.
He said he doesn't follow it too much but has a soft spot for Everton because of his Dad.
I said to him, "when I was your age, Everton had one of the best teams I have ever seen" and, without even pausing I rattled off the names Southall, Ratcliffe, Mountfield, Trevor Steven, Gary Stevens, Andy Gray, Van Den Hauwe, Graeme Sharp and Kevin Sheedy.

Not 100% sure if they were all at the same time, but think they were.

Arsenal apart, I can never name another team (well maybe Liverpool in 80's and Manchester United under Red Nose) .

Fantastic Everton team mid 80's.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - if only we had them now dags.. :)

13 Nov 2015 22:34:57
Probably from the age of 10 to late 20s I could name every premier league/division one teams starting 11 plus sqaud members and quite a frew 2nd division too, not any more though, I can't pronounce let alone spell around half the ones I do know.

13 Nov 2015 22:42:18
G62,
I couldn't even tell you what I had for breakfast mate, lol.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Nov 2015 09:50:13
Dags mate, you've got something on the end of your nose there fella. ;-) lol.

Great team of players though, can't argue with that. :-)

14 Nov 2015 20:07:40
Haha, thanks Red.

Oh Jeez, not again.

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Nov 2015 21:13:32
When Carra was asked "Who is the best player you ever played against? ".

His reply, "Thierry Henry".

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - obviously.. :)

13 Nov 2015 21:40:20
As an out and out Number 9, I might put Shearer in same bracket as Thierry, Ed.

Than again :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - then again is right dags..

13 Nov 2015 21:54:12
1) Henry.
2) but a close second, Shearer :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - henry, bergkamp............................................shearer..

13 Nov 2015 22:10:37
As I mentioned earlier Dags - you have a certain taste when it comes to strikers, unique and only understood by yourself.

I have Henry by a fair bit, Bergkamp and Shearer and then Fowler.

Don;t know if its fair but Michael Owen's punditry has dropped him at least 3 places on my list and that's just the way it is ;-) )

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Nov 2015 22:13:32
Shearer was the classic center forward. He was efficient and deadly. But in an overall point of view he was not in the same league as Henry and bergkamp they were pioneers of a trade whilst shearer was the best of an established trade.

I have the utmost respect in shearer when he rebuffed the advances of United. But if that man ever put the United shirt on in the days of United dominance we would have never seen a goal scorer like it. What a guy that says no thanks, fergie. He's a loveable player that all neutrals can agree on.

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Nov 2015 22:00:41
Yeah, you twisted my arm lol.

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Nov 2015 22:43:18
Totally agree Rooster, lol.

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Nov 2015 22:44:50
Totally agree Grow.
Dammit, I'm even going to throw Le Tissier in there.

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Nov 2015 23:01:11
Great player. Magic at set pieces . Arguably the best in his time at them.

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Nov 2015 23:19:43
Let Tiss, as they use to say, "not a great goalscorer, but a scorer of great goals".

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Nov 2015 20:12:35
25 mins in, we haven't put 10 passes together. Too bad Thiago got injured, santi is on for him.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

13 Nov 2015 16:54:11
Prediction for tonight's game? I'm going with 3-0 Spain.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

13 Nov 2015 18:13:02
No idea and won't be watching but Spain should go with morata long term instead of that adopted Spanish Brazilian thug.

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Nov 2015 18:47:42
Apart from anything else Costa has been poor this year and is making a joke of himself . Chelsea will be back strong come January I've been reading that griezman, pogba and CR7 are on there way to push them into the top 4🙄😒😅.

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Nov 2015 19:12:49
Why any player with great options from lots of top clubs would chose to go to a club where the players already their seem to be a long way from happy is beyond me.
Surely you go where the football and atmosphere is every bit as good as the money on offfer.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - its all about the money mate..

13 Nov 2015 19:45:49
Costa a thug? That's a bit kind Derby.

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Nov 2015 20:13:51
Was just looking through the various games and see that Ozil isn't in the German starting 11 or on the bench.

Anyone heard anything?

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Nov 2015 21:06:09
Ozil rested and won't be selected for both matches since there is no winter break in England, according to Joachim Low.

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Nov 2015 21:11:48
Red Dog,
It's because Germany have a very decent manager in Joachim Low.

He intentionally left Ozil out because he knew he wouldn't get a winter break playing for Arsenal.

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Nov 2015 21:18:50
Thanks Wesley that's a result, shame Thiago got injured though, was looking good for Cazorla to get a break. Sanchez played the whole 90 mins last night for Chile.

Good to see Giroud on the scoresheet again.

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Nov 2015 22:06:50
Shame they're not a few more like him Dags, especially the Chile manager. :- (

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Nov 2015 22:18:17
Honestly giroud on his day is lewandowski he's clinical tough and very decisive . He's a very sure footed clever player that can play that possition perfectly. But unfortunately unlike lewandowski he plays like that one in ten games and consistentcy is the hallmark of any great player.

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Nov 2015 23:20:28
Absolutely Dog.

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Nov 2015 09:39:07
If Ozil is the assist king of europe, without a top drawer striker it should makes you wonder where he would be with Remy or Austin out there scoring for fun?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

13 Nov 2015 14:15:18
Remy or Austin?

Rooster, you are now my best buddy, lol.

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Nov 2015 15:22:27
Austin out of contract in summer. Surely hel go in Jan. QPR are not going up. Still baffles me Newcastle picked mikcovic over him.

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Nov 2015 15:44:22
mitrovic is twice the player Austin is Derby.

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Nov 2015 16:20:08
hes younger and maybe has more potential to be better CTR. but i would of thought as a club who had just avoided relegation austin would of been the more sensible option. having already settled in the prem, with mitrovic showing signs. but clearly needing more time to settle, if that takes til next year that might be too late for newcastle.

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Nov 2015 18:16:17
CTR don't know what player you have been watching he's strictly average. Austin got 18 prem goals last year I think. Il be amazed if your boy levels or betters it. Austin all day for me. Mitrovic is a walking red card. Like Costa defenders will have him under control next yr.

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Nov 2015 18:46:39
for 8m it was a no brainier for me Derby, Austin is injury prone and I've heard has quite a poor work ethic. I have to question a player who feels he is good enough for prem football but chooses to stay at a club because they pay him high wages.

Austin is a huge gamble imp.

mitrovic on the other hand is a hard working lad who wants to improve as a footballer. has very good technical ability on the floor and in the air and is young too.

all round for me a much safer bet.

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Nov 2015 18:49:32
Andy carols better than the pair of them 💇.

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed025's Note - he is if your missing a lamppost growbun..

13 Nov 2015 19:49:18
Austin is just a dog who knows where the goal is. If he doesn't score, he gives you nothing. Mitrovic is a footballer, so it depends what you are looking for. All I would say is Austin would never ever get in a top side. Mitrovic just might.

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Nov 2015 20:29:41
I can't believe I'm going to say this and I hope it's the last time but I agree with ubi :)

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Nov 2015 20:37:12
Don't be like that Chris, we could be good together.

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Nov 2015 20:48:03
Haha, to me to u.

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Nov 2015 20:56:49
CFR 8mill your crazy. Mitrovic was 13mill. Austin stayed because no one payed his fee. Leicester had 12mill rejected. Any club signing him would match his wages or maybe better them. Esp if he leaves on a free this summer.

Mitrovic is just a battering ram and not a good one at that. Hense cisse starting.

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Nov 2015 20:59:51
I'm happy to bet you CTR that mitrovic does not get 18 league goals this season. And u can name your price.

Please post this eds charity bet I don't mind.

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Nov 2015 21:25:48
Now look what you've done Chris, you've upset the oracle. We're going to be hearing about this for months now. I don't know if I can cope, I might leave the country for a while.

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Nov 2015 22:17:28
I'm just happy to back up my calls ubi. let's see if ctr will.

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Nov 2015 22:21:57
I was very impressed with Austin but like CTR said its a gamble. Mitrovic was very impressive and is very hard working but I feel both lack quality to play in a top European side.

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Nov 2015 22:51:01
I'm not saying either are top4 players. Never have been never will be. But Austin gets you goals. Mitrovic long term flops for me. Time will tell. But il take that charity bet with anyone.

If Austin joins Newcastle in Jan il laugh.

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Nov 2015 22:51:57
no Derby I don't think he will score 18 league goals. he's young and learning his trade but I tell u what I bet he ends up having the better career of the two.

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Nov 2015 22:58:46
Depends what you mean by better career. Mitrovic is the name Austin has come from non league. Mitrovic in 2-3 yrs will be shipped out like super Mario was because he wasn't upto it.

So if mitrovic won't score you 18 but Austin is still a gamble? I don't get it. Every club austin has been he scores. 13mill mitrovic or 15 for Austin? Id go Austin knows the league.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Nov 2015 00:20:39
austin got 7 assists last year. but if you say he offers nothing more than goals then fair enough.

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Nov 2015 06:51:27
Assuming Ospina leaves at the end of the season, should we retain Szczesny as cover for Cech?

Believable1 Unbelievable0

13 Nov 2015 08:11:42
Its time part company for Szczesney and Arsenal, he needs to be a number one at his age and we need a successor to Petr Cech who capable of a high level consistency.
Cech is a title winning quality keeper and while Szczesney and Ospina are strictly champions league qualifying material.

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Nov 2015 12:04:46
Szczesny is good enough to provide cover I feel. He's probably good enough to start somewhere else but you can't be too sentimental in football, if we can then we should keep him as a number 2.
