Got to say yet again i'm impressed with iwobis camio, just hope he gets the chance to show what he has got. I have my doubts though when the going gets tough and we have arteta, flamini, gibbs chambers and rosicky (maybe) on the bench with him, who he will turn to. Silly i know because at least three of them will be in the physio room.

Well, funny old week.
2 tough away games, that we normally lose.
We could have lost both, we could have won both.
We drew both, but I'm not too happy about that.
That said, we are back at the top of the table.
Am I asking too much?
17 Jan 2016 21:59:18
Draws at Anfield and the Britannia aren't exactly bad results in anyone's book as the defeats at West brom and Southampton show.
17 Jan 2016 22:04:30
But are them 2 draws enough to maintain our target of being Champs?
You could argue yes, as we have gone top, but if any team can go on a run and win 5 or 6 on the bounce, they can get a bit of daylight between the 2nd and 3rd place teams.
Are we capable of the above?
{Ed025's Note - you are if you get ozil and sanchez fit dags, you really missed that quality final ball today that only world class players like those two can provide..
17 Jan 2016 22:21:41
If the league ended today we would be champions thanks to a draw in our graveyard. It isn't and its another draw that might just catch up with us. We seem to be treading a bit of water away from home, no sinking a bit. 6 points from the last 18, not good enough going forward. If we win the league by one point this was a great draw, but at the moment, it a good draw.
17 Jan 2016 22:30:04
Win you home games and draw your away games gets you champions league football (76 point's) to be champions you need to turn draws away to the bottom 4 sides into wins (84) points.
Sounds easy doesn't it :-)
Can we go on a run of 7 wins? Yes
Can city? Yes
Can Leicester at this stage of the season? Not sure.
Not having cover for Le Coq has hurt us not having cover for Olly could very well cost us come May.
17 Jan 2016 22:40:00
Very true Ed,
Definitely missed their touch of 'genius', especially as Walcott and The Ox were pants.
Steve and G62,
You make sense.

Good result today, a bit lucky and a bit unlucky so draw fair result. We are missing players but we all ways do we are not alone and you do have to manage the season. We are coming under pressure a bit and are struggling to play our game, every game seems a battle without control. 2 games into a big two months and we have started with two draws, those draws have to be turned into wins and not defeats. We need ozil and sancez fitvand firing.
17 Jan 2016 19:21:34
Not a bad result away to Stoke Steve. r
No need to look for excuses with players missing. Every team has a spell with injuries.
Still in the hunt, all about how the players deal with it.
17 Jan 2016 19:30:49
fair comments steve,
I must say I was extremely disappointed with flamini and ox in the center of the park. their passing was atrocious at times. we just couldn't get any delivery to our front men with that poor service.
I hope wenger is now looking to improve our squad players. how else are we going to move forwards?
17 Jan 2016 19:42:05
Ns I don't make excuses, I accept, but to win the league you need your best players most of the time. If we don't we will finish fourth, if we do we still might finish fourth, but we won't win with second and third string. Take kane and ali out of your team and you would not manage. Take your two center backs out and ditto. i'm not moaning i'm saying we have to manage but a fair wind has to blow.
17 Jan 2016 19:46:55
Jus we need elneny to be the man and from the get go I feel. He needs to bring stability like coq and we need to get our better players back. Ozil and sanchez are vital and for me so is walcott down the middle. We have no plan b at the moment up front.
17 Jan 2016 20:02:55
We will have to agree to disagree Steve. r as I believe the top teams rotation (knowing when to and who) is the key to being successful. Fergie was a master at it.
Which will be proven when our boys (and has happened already this season) burn out; our two centre halfs (Verts and Toby) , centre mids (Dier and Ali) and only centre forward (Kane) .
So again, no excuses.
17 Jan 2016 20:56:32
Ns you won't find me making excuses, but the facts are and no team are excempt if you can't get your best players out most of the time you don't win. I can't remember a second string team winning the title but I remember us chelsea man city and us strggling to sustain a challenge without your top men but that also has to be managed and addresed.
17 Jan 2016 21:05:21
Us twice, no not that pompus, man citeh. Sorry.
17 Jan 2016 21:07:18
Sorry brandy working, man utd, citeh, chelski and us.
17 Jan 2016 18:14:45
If you needed better evidence to show Arteta should have been released last season, and is taking up an important place in the squad, it is today. Club captain, fit and can only make the bench when we are injury ravaged in midfield.
17 Jan 2016 19:19:51
Some of us take the view he shouldn't have been captain or still here. But the boss does.
17 Jan 2016 18:08:16
Wenger has to be one of the few managers who will make a signing. Get all the fans excited and then not give him a few minutes run out.
17 Jan 2016 18:39:14
Sometimes it's better for them to sit on the bench and get a feel for the club, rather then just throw them straight in.
17 Jan 2016 18:55:39
Is Stoke away the best game to throw him in when he has only trained a few days.
Perfect scenario - we are up in the game and he comes on to get debut under his belt
We would have slaughtered Wenger if he had played and looked poor especially with everyone saying we need a world class CM / CDM. Media would have had a field day on Wenger and player.
17 Jan 2016 19:14:05
Elneny might just turn out to be the bargain of the season but a lot of people seem to be expecting an awful lot from a £5 million signing from the swiss league, he may well need time and it might be next season or even the one after we see the best of him if ever! In premier league terms £5million really is a punt not a statement signing.
17 Jan 2016 19:24:08
He may or may not turn out great we will have to wait and see. But if he was 50 mil and had a world reputation, he would have played. He obviously isn't but we hope he is in weeks and months to come, we need him to be.
17 Jan 2016 20:40:04
Hope so Steve but the this Elneny thing reminds me of Bielik last season who people were saying would go straight into the 18 man squad if not 11.
17 Jan 2016 21:04:58
My argument not about what is the best footballing time to give him a run out. More a view of finances and supporters. Fans and viewers is what give football value and money. Giving a new signing 5 minute run out first game available, see if he can score a winner does a lot more to gain fans and good moral for a club.
17 Jan 2016 21:37:24
Daan, it only takes a split second for a player to make a silly mistake, just allowing him to get used to every aspect of the pl is a good thing, he needs to settle first.
17 Jan 2016 21:43:03
Surely Arsene will know from training wether he's better than Flamini and decide if and when he plays.
17 Jan 2016 17:16:39
That man Jaime carragher wouldn't give Arsenal credit if you paid him, saying silva and aguero are the best players in league this year is the biggest load of trash I've heard, I won't for a second say we've got the best 2 in Ozil and Sanchez. For me the best 2 players this season so far are vardy and probably mahrez. They've given far more than the other two lol.
17 Jan 2016 19:23:30
What about Catyermole and Wes Brown.
17 Jan 2016 19:29:16
OK they got the next best 2 🐠.
17 Jan 2016 20:08:39
I still love looking back at our midfield magicians in Howells and Dozell. They must have terrified teams.
17 Jan 2016 21:02:19
Jamie carragher talks from the heart of his bottom. he's a poor mans excuse for a pundit, who is making a living, making out he was something special himself. Not a patch on neville but we will just have to put up with him for the time being.
17 Jan 2016 16:16:14
I think it's a calculated decision to leave out Sanchez and ozil, regardless of result we still remain 1 point of the top, I think it's the right decision considering our record at Stoke.
17 Jan 2016 15:03:43
Todays game coming too soon for elneny and maybe sanchez. But hopefully we will get to see them in the second half.
17 Jan 2016 15:17:17
Not sure what people are expecting from this lad or why their expecting it.
17 Jan 2016 15:34:00
G62 it rather hope than expectation mate. We have made the signing, he is unproven but hoping he will come good and makes the deference. He looked hungry. Maybe he hasn't eaten yet lol. Inknow its silly just lightening up the mood a little
COYG.
17 Jan 2016 15:37:41
Wells he's on the bench so let's see.
17 Jan 2016 15:46:44
We all hope he does well More and if he hits the ground running I'd be very very pleasantly surprised if he does but I personally don't expect to much from him this season at all.
17 Jan 2016 15:50:46
Right just saw the line up and here is my optimism just gone with wind. Ozil not playing, sanchez not being risked which is better. Its going to be a tough game to watch.

1-1 today.
17 Jan 2016 13:41:30
I'm going for 3-2 for the arsenal here mate.
17 Jan 2016 13:53:14
you always need a little rub of the green when bringing in a new player and i hope we can get an oppertunity to look at el nenny and hope he has a good first game.
17 Jan 2016 14:29:58
Sorry guys I think 1-2 or 1-3. Hope i'm wrong but I am struggling to see it.
17 Jan 2016 14:31:35
Im meant to stoke.
17 Jan 2016 15:01:04
Steve I see you your point, I'm sure we will be able to score goals but my concern can we keep tied defence. Not sure if flams is playing tho.
17 Jan 2016 15:04:48
3-0 to us today and back to the top.
17 Jan 2016 15:06:13
It can't be counted out Steve but let's hope for a better away day today even if its against Stoke.
17 Jan 2016 15:50:27
Let's go and play the football we can and beat them.
17 Jan 2016 10:56:12
Have any of you seen the footage of Diego Costa injured on the sideline then rolls himself back on the pitch to waste time, really don't like him as a player at all, the only time I want to see Costa is when I get him on ultimate team lol
On a more Arsenal related topic in going for a 2-1 win today with Ramsey scoring both :) with a cheeky Ozil assist ;)
17 Jan 2016 15:38:13
No Ozil today,

Stoke 1 v arsenal3.giroud, Campbell, Ramsey. walters for stoke. two assists for ozil.
17 Jan 2016 10:28:54
Struggling to see past a score draw.
17 Jan 2016 12:59:08
Should be more of an open game then previously, going for a 2-0 win, with giroud first scorer.
17 Jan 2016 13:13:07
The Stoke fans will demand everyone one of their players gives everything For the full 90 minutes to send Arsene home miserable, its their biggest home game of the season Stoke v Arsene Wenger.
A draw would be a good result IMO and a win a fantastic one, 2 2 for me as long as everyone of our players (MerterDUCKER in particular) is up for the battle ahead.
17 Jan 2016 11:13:13
I bet the rich and famous don't want Ramsey to score. I read that his last 9 goals 9 famous people died the same day. Mind you it would be nice to get rid of David Cameron lol also do you lot think Ramsey will be at Barcelona next season as he is their number one target.
17 Jan 2016 14:32:58
I agree gunner a draw would be a good result and a win a great result.
