Leicester are beginning to worry me.

Top of the tree going into Xmas, and thoroughly deserved.

My boy Mahrez did it again.

Snap him up Arsene, break the bank.

There because they are playing the best football getting the most points and playing without fear. Everyone expects them to falter, they aren't just yet. The manager is very inovative, in the past to his downfall but he knows how to win football matches. I personally hope they get top four and keep this run going a while longer yet. Its very refreshing for the prem.

19 Dec 2015 20:24:35
They won't win the league Dags, though top four is a possiblity if only for the fact the rest are poor.

Not sure about breaking the bank though, previously Mahrez had scored 31 in 147, yes he is having a good season but so far he has 22 in 66, id like to see him perform again next season to be honest.

19 Dec 2015 20:52:04
True Steve.

Bambam, he's quality. Would rather we took a 'chance' and snapped him up, rather than City or Chelsea, and watch him turn into a 'worldie' playing for somebody else.
(Assuming Leicester sell of course) .

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Dec 2015 21:16:25
Steve.r,

Just to be clear, so if it's between yourselves and Leicester, you want them to get in the top four?

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Dec 2015 22:15:21
DAGS

But to break the bank?

Agree0 Disagree1

19 Dec 2015 22:30:26
Bambam,
Like I posted the other day, throw £25m at Leicester for Mahrez in January, but let them keep him until end of the season.

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Dec 2015 22:34:40
Ns we always get top four, that's not our problem, its a given.

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Dec 2015 23:05:42
Yeah great idea Dags then he will do his CL in May and be in the treatment room for 9 months lol :)

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Dec 2015 23:15:09
you need to push on from that then now Steve.r or your just stagnating?

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Dec 2015 23:37:15
Lol Bambam,
You know the rules, you must play at least one game for Arsenal before you get a serious knee injury :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Dec 2015 01:21:43
Ns don't get me going, don't wind me up, that's my issue with us. Its this year or never for us. Under present navigater of the ship.

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Dec 2015 09:50:57
I wouldn't disagree with that Steve I'm hoping the club see that as well, best opportunity for years . Whisper it though if 'The Dog' sees it he will come barking his opinions :)

Trouble is with that Leicester will think that, as will Spuds and no doubt will M Utd who haven't won anything for three years. I'm expecting them to spend in January

Thats what my crystal ball is telling me anyhow.

19 Dec 2015 17:31:59
Liverpool hit them for 6 and Spuds put 2 past them.

I'm hoping for a happy Boxing Day.

19 Dec 2015 17:58:05
No easy premier league wins and Southampton certainly ain't the easiest of places to visit, winning there is still very much an achievement rather than a formality.

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Dec 2015 19:28:10
Dags your love buddy Kane banged in another goal today to fire spurs into the top 4 lol.

Agree1 Disagree0

19 Dec 2015 19:46:45
I'll try again.. Big game for you boys Monday.. Predictions?

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Dec 2015 20:08:11
Raver,
To be fair he's doing a fantastic job for Spurs. Every goal he scores sticks £300,000 on his transfer fee in Summer.
That should help pay for the turnstiles at the new stadium :-) .

Northeast.
Very big game mate. We both need to win to keep in touch with Leicester :-)
2-2 draw for me.

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Dec 2015 20:28:24
I think man city by 3 or 4 goals northeast.

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Dec 2015 20:31:14
I will take 1-1 for monday. A win would be great but we are missing too many players to confidently predict a win. Kane and deli ali, can they carry your lot to top 4. With man u faltering, yes.

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Dec 2015 20:51:41
I'm going for a 3 - 1 thumping.. I think you lot will rip them apart Monday night.

Still fancy you to win the league with a couple of games to go.. Nip and tuck with us for 3/4.. January transfer will be interesting for us. We need a striker, with pace IMO and a creative midfielder for when Ali, Ericson don't perform..

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Dec 2015 21:55:20
You are growing on me Northeast :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Dec 2015 22:13:59
Ha ha Dags, just a football supporter with a touch of realism..

We all want our teams to win everything in sight, but the reality (for me) of winning has to be measured on development and growth, then sustaining that year in year out.

Unless of course you have the funds United, City & Chelsea have had invested in their teams.. Which should have been capped 15 / 20 years ago for me with investment in British youth and lower leagues..

Agree1 Disagree0

19 Dec 2015 22:34:44
Northeast,
I agree. You probably won't agree (as a Spud) , but I think Arsenal are a role model club to how things should be run, as opposed to buying players left, right and centre.
Admittedly, we should be doing more about our youth development, but we always try to run the club whilst trying to balance the books.

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Dec 2015 23:08:18
I agree Dags even though your a goon, except for the real lack of British players. But I'm sure that will raise a few arguments

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Dec 2015 01:26:28
Dont forget, gibbs ramsay, walcott, wilshire Jenkinson and welbeck, Ns. Five of them are English too.

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Dec 2015 08:43:03
Still not enough from a full squad though is it Steve.r?

My point is the money that has been within the premier league for the past 15 / 20 years and look at the British players in the top 6 teams. For me, there aren't enough.

My sons at an academy under 16's and they tend to develop on strength, whereas the European youth players are so comforable on the ball. Massive difference in youth training.. Which is clearly feeding up to the professional leagues..

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Dec 2015 14:29:21
You've just confirmed Ns the big problem I've said for years, the British footballers first touch is non existent compaired to the top foreigners and you say we should have more british. Do you want us to finish outside top four. lol.

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Dec 2015 16:21:35
Ha ha Steve.r you claim that's a given.

I'm merely stating (my opinion) that the premier league and British national teams have sufferered due to lack of investment in youth football over the pat 15/20 years, in specifics, development on their technical ability rather than strength and power.

We see players every now and then (Stones @ Everton) come through and they are made out to be amazing, yet players like that can be seen week in week out in most teams in Italy & Spain..

Look at grass roots under 10's and below, they have changed the rules so the opposing team have to go back to the half way line on goal kicks, until the ball is in play. The keeper passes it to a defender then all the opposing team players are encouraged to chase them down, the player with the ball panics and usually is told to hit it long. What are they learning?

why not stop any opposition from entering the goal kickers half of the field and the game becomes active when the ball has crossed the half way line? Therefore encouraging the kids to pass/run with the ball..

At that age they don't need to know all the rules, they don't even play for points..

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Dec 2015 17:27:35
Ns its only a given if we don't get too many british players to ruin it. Lol. I know what you mean about grass roots, i was massively involved in youth football, the professional side of it is a joke and there is no help, or useful help given to grassroots from the fa.

Really good Xmas schedule for the gunners, 3 games at home and a short trip to the south coast 2 or so hours away,

I'm predicting 10 points with Southampton away been the toughest test, think we will do city at home and put away Newcastle and the cherrys.

19 Dec 2015 14:17:47
10 from 12 in these games would be a very good return.

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Dec 2015 15:15:03
It certainly would . but wouldn't 12 be even better.

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Dec 2015 15:55:48
It certainly would mate and if we pass the city test then there is no reason why we couldn't.

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Dec 2015 17:10:15
12 would be absolutely excellent, 10 very good, 8 not the end of the world but disappointing and most probably ground losing.
Very big result for Leicester AGAIN today, there not going away are they.
