Bambam,

Re your earlier post.

I think Liverpool have bought a little bit better this time round.

Players with Prem experience who could (possibly) slip seamlessly into Liverpool's style of play.

I'm not saying they can/will break into top 4, but they can certainly have a say in who does.

Still a lot of changes in a short period of time. I think there is something to be said for placing some faith in your squad and adding a few key improvements

Mystifier if it was the otherway round, I think you would be saying and seeing it differently. I do think wenger should keep his opinions to himself, I don't see it doing him any favours and its a manager putting his stamp on his team. what's that got to do with wenger, that's my thoughts. Look after your own house and don't worry about the neighbours.

Agree with Steve,

Wenger should concentrate on AFC and no other team.

Pretty certain Utd have used youth players recently.

Blackett, McNair, Reece James, James Wilson, Pereira and Tom Thorpe.

Concentrate on Arsenal Arsene.

I don't have an issue with it. He was asked a question and gave an honest answer. It's pretty clear most clubs have had to adjust their transfer policies due to market inflation from the sugar daddy clubs. There was a time not too long ago that Arshavin was a record signing for you!

When it comes to getting really big players to come to your club you need to 1 to 3 things in your favour.
1 be able/willing to pay top wages.
2 be able to convince your target your able to seriously challenge for the games biggest prizes
3 be based in a desirable part of the world to live in.
Sometimes 1 of these things is enough to get your man but 2 will widen your chioces while all 3 gives you petty much the cream of the crop to choose from.
A real proper title challenge this season will go along way to making next summers shopping much easier.

Hi Ed, do you see Wenger stopping next year, even if he doesn't win the league?

With their dosh they will always attract top players but not always for the right reason, as they say money can't buy you love but it can buy committed companionship for a while.

Also, is Rinaldo's ego growing so rapidly that one day his head will become so big that it forms a new universe? Either that or collapse in on itself causing a black hole?

Ed002, you seem pretty itk. So I'm having an existential crisis, thought I'd ask you to clear up some stuff for me.
1.are we all striking options for Wenger over the summer?
2.are we all just different incarnations of dags split personality?

I don't share your concern about Liverpool Dags...............blimey how many players do they bring in each year.

The players you mention might do well.....................against the 'lesser' teams but not against the other clubs

The goalkeeping situation is getting interesting....
Assuming Szczesny goes out on loan to Roma and Ospina is unwillling to play second fiddle to Cech, will we sell him and promote Martinez to number two and bring a young keeper through?
I feel slighlty sorry for Ospina, as he performed well last season both for Arsenal and Columbia.

The original rumours had Ospina going to Turkey for £3 million so maybe he still will with Szczesny going on loan and Martinez who has always impressed me staying as back up. Not sure who then would be ready for the 3rd spot. Deyan Iliev maybe?

Wenger did say that Cech would be in competition for the number 1 spot but with Ospina coming back late that will hopefully be the in for Cech to start and not lose his spot.

As Dags said the other day Cech and Ospina as 1 & 2 would be great but that I guess would depend on Ospinas willingness to go back to the number 2 keeper.

If it comes to it Cech 1 and Martinez 2 is some upgrade on Ospina 1 Szczesney 2 or vice versa, personally I don't see both Ospina and Szczesney leaving this summer but if it did happen I see big advantages to that too.
Being second choice is a promotion for Martinez where as Ospina and Szczesney see it as a kick in the Yvonne Gooligons and a happy player is always better to have around than a disgruntled player.
