The two teams who under achieved so badly today play each other next week, so some one or both won't bounce straight back with a win.

We travel to Cardiff who have taken 4pts from games with utd and city so are not to be under estimated but if we keep avoiding the banana skins others slip up on we will be champions by March :-)

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Agree G62, we have to go to places like Cardiff and get 3 points mate

Agree0 Disagree0

For me Manchester United are another loss away from the title race. they will end up in the top 4 with the strikers they have, but I still believe they are one loss away from dropping off the title race.

chelsea are two losses and two draws from that, while city are just a couple of away games away from dropping off.

i think its going to come down to chelsea v arsenal for the title, and if we can keep in the top 2 by the new year we can do it.

Agree0 Disagree0

Would love to beat both Chelski and city home and away but wouldn't be a to upset to share the points in all 4 games if we can maintain our current form else where.
So far we have only had two bad results AV and MU and we are top because of it.
Utd are done for this season as they won't go unbeaten from now on,

Said it in the summer to my pals that support the y0ddos, what the have done is brought a lot of players who done well in the "europa" league, they where in-form for there former clubs meaning there former clubs could get top wonga for them.

They might come up with a few good performances this year, but really there not all that great, totally unproven at the top top level, which is what the Prem is.

Given time they might get better, but we all know that you don't get that time in the world of football.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Yeah you right mate, maybe Wenger does know best when it comes to transfers. Most fans thought, look at the spurs showing so much ambition buy the type of players the why buying etc. Bottom line they haven't propelled them into the top 4, its early days yet but so far none of them are making a big impact.

Didn't watch the game so have no idea but were spurs that bad or city that good or a mixture of both?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Furgie time is replaced by Moysie time, not a bad weekend for us, not bad at all

Agree0 Disagree0

Mixture of both. Two of their goals came from bad kicks by the keeper, plus it was the best game from Aguero and Negredo that I've seen. They were exceptional.

I would hate to think city could do that to the team I saw hold Chelski on motd a few months back.

So let me get this straight, spurs spent £110million (I know selling bale was part of that money but still) those fans must have been rubbing their hands thinking "we're going to cruise this season" and all they have mustered is 9 GOALS lol Aaron Ramsey has scored more than that by himself lol then they get HUMILIATED at City lol I'm sorry but "110 million and you still couldn't win!" Lol

Oh it's great to be a gooner :)

It takes a strong and mature individual not to revel in your local rivals humiliation. Strength and maturity is something I have always lacked. So let me begin. HA! where was I? Oh yeah HAHA :-)
Flybo

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Mate I know it's funny and we are rivals and all that. But I actually feel sorry for them. They really played some nice football in recent years, and showed ambition in the summer after selling Bale.
I think the problem is they bought too much players from abroad which needs settling in, adaption period after all it's a new league, new country, different culture.
I saw a rant on 101greatgoals from Arsenal fan on Ozil. He expected more from the player etc etc. We all do but the man needs time to adapt to, settle in. He hasn't been that bad so the rant was really unnecessary. It doesn't really matter if you cost 4 mil or 42 mil every player needs to be given time.
So please don't turn into persons and give the lad a chance.
About Spurs one would have thought AVB learned his lesson from his time at Chelsea.

Agree0 Disagree0

Feel sorry for them?
I would rather marry a duck billed platypus than feel sorry for that sad bunch of muppets

I have been saying to my Spurs mate that this season they will realise how much Bale carried them last season, both in terms of being their game changer, and masking the loss of Modric and Van Der Vart. - and I was right!

Welcome to mid table obscurity my friend!

From what we've all heard come febuary we will have bendtner or an alternate tall striker, eds, any ideas as to who this might be? the two names that spring to mind are Ba and Llorente, but I can't see either of these coming to arsenal {Ed002's Note - How tall is tall?}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I don 't know mate, you'd have to ask wenger that

In a real Dilemna today.

For us Mancs v spurs would be best to finish a draw, but can't help wanting to see the spurs get spanked 5-0.

Guess either would do!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Well spurs getting spanked 3-0 and its not even half time!

How much were Soldado and Lamella? £60m between them? They couldn't hit a barn door with a tank, well done AVB

Agree0 Disagree0

Look I really don't want to take up for the spuds. but for me, I wanted todays game against city to be a draw and I want the game against united to be a draw.

why a draw? because both teams lose 2 points and we pick up 3 hopefully.

next game we play cardiff, a team who have not lost at home, they play together and they play tough.

our likely outcome will be a draw. but we must win to keep the pressure on the others. also chelsea play southampton, and I hope they can cause and upset.

Is it just me or does anyone else think Jack has had his nose put out of joint buy Aarons unbelievable rise to stardom and the arrival of Ozil both of which have threatened his status as king in waiting?

He seems to be trying hard to up his game lately and get headlines for how he plays rather than comments on who should or shouldn't play for England and being photographed smoking.

If so FANTASTIC because he is class no question and this can only be great news for AFC, MF competition doesn't get any tougher than ours and he has what it takes to be in it on ability, but not by right

Believable0 Unbelievable0

No I think he is just frustrated that he is not back to his old self. I also think that Jack's injury will take a long time to get over and another six months and hopefully he will be on a par or better than Ramsey.

Agree0 Disagree0

That would be brilliant Gooner if Jack became even better than Aaron is now!
Have high hopes for them to be our Inesta and Xavi in the coming years

Agree0 Disagree0

Jack will get better G62 as the season progresses. Still think he is too injury prone though.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I think he means a winger who is well known by all

So come on boys, what's the answer to our shortage of strikers?
we will never play 4-4-2, always 4-5-1 and you can't drop Giroud because he is the real deal. Who can we buy that will be cover for giroud?
Suarez will never play second fiddle to Olly, nor will Lewandorski nor a lot of top strikers. The only person I can think of is Hernandez from Man Utd, who is maybe happy to be used as an impact sub but can't see Utd selling him to us.
Maybe Loic Remy? but again I just can't see it, especially with the world cup just around the corner. I think our only realistic option is to use Theo or the Pod as back up strikers and I think that's what's running through Wengers mind too.
What do you boys think?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Spot on. With one main striker and having Giroud in excellent form, I can't see a top quality striker being signed. We have Walcott and Podolski as options with Podolski returning shortly. A young up and coming striker may be a possibility, but we have Sonago. Bendtner, has proved to be a total waste of space, despite being given a final chance to show what he can do. I would like us to sign Micah Richards, as he can cover for Sangna, who looks likely to depart in the summer & Jenkinson is simply not good enough. Richards can also provide cover for Mertesacker, as neither Vermaelen nor Koscileny look comfortable on the right side of the centre back pairing. A player such as Suarez or Rooney would be a good option, as both are more than capable of attacking from wide, but I can't see either of them being sold in January, if at all.

Agree0 Disagree0

This is why we went for suarez, because he can play left wing.

We need a striker who can play on the left. And go central when needed.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hernandez or Dzeko would be higher up the striker options with us.

If we are top come January - these could be options

We don't need another winger come striker as that will cause unrest in a packed midfield

Agree0 Disagree0

Forget Dzeko and Lewa I would take Vela back in a heartbeat. Although I'm not so sure he would like to come back.
